Many villages and the big city of Kherson are under high risk of being terribly flooded, the water is getting higher and higher . Evacuation already started. The level of water is getting higher very fast.

Stop Russia! This is awful. Worried about the cooling of the Zaporizhia power plant, too. But wait a minute, aren't their own soldiers in the flooded area? An excuse to withdraw quickly? And what about the water supply to Crimea?
Remember how the Russians force evacuated a lot if villages and towns in the flood area a few weeks ago?
Was this why?
They have raised the level of water in the dam beyond it's normal..
Why? ...To make the Zaporozhye nuclear plant and this hydro plant unusable for Ukrainians when they drive the Russians out?
And because they know they will lose Crimea in the coming months and have the reservoirs there filled enough to last them for their remaining time there but to leave no possibility of water to Crimea for the Ukrainians when they take it back.
Was it fear of the counter offensive?
Or just the usual Russian total incompetence at managing anything?
Russia is a pathetic barbarian and cowardly state. Hopefully it will descend into civil war at the end of which the Russian Federation disappears forever. Some of the millions of decent Russians we know there are many of in exile and laying low within Russia take over what's left of the country, the Republics take back total control of their own regions.
Ukraine must take back all it's territory and immediately afterwards it's allies send in the best people who can help rebuild the critical infrastructure that's been destroyed and NATO membership it's defence while rebuilding goes on.. a massive air defence system installed facing Russia with warnings that a single missile from Russian territory then will be met with massive missiles strike back..
The Russian regime cannot be trusted at all.. negotiate peace with it some people say... Negotiate what kind of peace??

The power plant has a separate lake for cooling which will take several months to deplete. So the danger there is not imminent.

It is terrible for the city, and everyone who relies on this dam, but if there is any consolation in this at all, it is that much of Russian occupied territory will be flooded. Look up flood maps of Kherson Oblast to see what areas will be affected. Hang in there Olena! And lots of love
