Damn I legit can't wait for them to react the next eps. This is gonna be wild rider for them. This is what Gen Urobuchi's writing did to viewers.
I think you guys don’t really understand Kouta that well. Kouta believes that what he’s doing is for others, and that’s clearly shown when he transformed in episode 2. Even Mai and Mitchi (the 3rd Rider) had to admit that he’s just trying to help his friends from being bullied by other teams, and this also helps him earn some money so he can support his sister too. You guys blame Kouta, but think about it-has Kouta ever blamed anyone other than himself? And as for him being overconfident, it’s because this is just a game, right? The rules in the game don’t allow people to kill each other. That’s why from the start, this game uses Inves (or as you guys call them, Digimon) to fight instead of humans. DJ Sagara (The Streamer) already mentioned this in episode 1. So when Kouta sees a Rider suddenly trying to kill him (which is outside the rules), of course, he’s scared. Honestly, the real jerks here are Baron and the other teams since they’re always bullying others just to take the stage and dance, while Kouta never abuses his power to bully other teams. All he’s doing is protecting his own team, but he didn’t expect Zangetsu (the White Rider) to try to kill him, which is totally against the rules. So it’s understandable that he doesn’t want to transform and face that guy again, right? Trust me, in the next few episodes, you’ll see I’m right.
Anyway, I liked the reaction to this episode, looking forward to the reaction for the next one.

Fire reaction as always, i LOVE the convo yall had and the argument about Kouta cause you guys are understanding this is what the series story IS, the fight against and for fate, fighting for others and yourself, both sides are seen as right which is why we have Mitchy who understands and Kaito who disagrees it’s just about which side you’d fight for more. Can’t wait to see how you guys break down and talk about later themes and motifs, small tidbits of info;
•White armored rider/Mitchy’s brother Takatora is called Zangetsu which means “Moon Slayer/Slaying Moon”
•Mitchy’s rider form is called Ryugen which means “The Mysterious Dragon”
•Zangetsu is a japanese themed Armored Rider like Gaim while Mitchy has a chinese warrior motif, his dragon motif is linked to a chinese dragon as well
Before Kouta's character, are 2 paths: the path of Acceptance-- of Cowardice; and the path of Resolve, of Courage.
Cowards live long, pathetic, lives, while the Courageous live short, heartbreaking tragedies. The former reaps rewards, and the Latter pays only prices.
Neither answer is wrong, but neither answer is right-- what matters is how you pursue it, and the end result you reach.
The writing in this show is phenomenal; neither answer is wrong, and that's part of the point, even so, ask yourselves this, if you were in Kouta's position, which path would you choose?

As someone who watch this back when it was new-ish, I'm confused, isn't Gaim's deal that he fights for his friends like most anime protags or has that not been said out loud yet?
That's why he's holding back and not going out claiming more stages as their troupe only need the one to dance on.
Also I see some of you believes his sisters "Entertainers don't contribute to society" B.S.
Cause it's not like "your music saved me" isn't a thing.
