Once you pass it and reveal the next power-up, you can’t go back. And if you get all the way to the end, you have to take the last power-up. I thought this mode would be interesting because it limits your choice but without completely taking it away like with rolling a dice. Plus your build won’t get absolutely screwed by rng. Hope they try it out next time :)
In board game parlance, this type of mechanic is called "Push Your Luck." I, for one, am absolutely in favor of seeing that play out. That sounds like it would be super cool

Since you guys already did dice rolls, I would vote for Rik's suggestion about "pushing your luck" by choosing whether you take the card given or continue drafting. It's also less random and gives you better control of the build you're going for.
My guess from looking at what slows it down is that Ash's many superball + other speed upgrade bullets were calculated as crossing the screen multiple times per frame, which required collision checks along their entire path, and the game was having to essentially run hundreds or thousands times more collision checks per frame than usual
So, I've figured out why your game was so laggy this time around. It's because of ash's parasite stacking so much that it was hitting like 50 times a second which refreshed his ammo each time because of him having scavenger, so the game was lagging because of his ammo getting refreshed so many times in a single second. Hope this helps you all!

Jazzy has both fireworks and splitting bouncy bullets and price is fireworks + due to the target bounce they go all over the place. At least Rik only breaks his part of the screen with all the bombs and him getting img invisible 😅
just to make it more clear the effect that brawler card gives is that you only take 1/3 of the damage you would receive for 3 seconds, if stacked goes like: 1 = 1/3 2 = 1/9 3 = 1/27 4 = 1/81 5 = 1/243
Trickster and superball actually don't cancel each other out, trickster is +80% per bounce and superball is only -15% per bounce so you can have a trickster and five superballs and still have slight damage growth.
And lo and behold, they said "we turned visual effects down" then procceeded to pick some of the most visual effect-loaded cards just to make that pointless. ;)

Maybe try spider heck, still a demo but it has local multiplayer, similar to stick fight but you're an 8 legged spider that can web around and wield lightsabers or explosives or laser dooms day devices and grenades

fireworks is a modded upgrade that you've never seen work it's magic befor because of other upgrades
Also, they don't shoot into the air, which is how it works

Grow with anything that bounce is strong as fly around map there getting more powerful until the bullets stop moving.

wait so 1/3 plus 1/9 to get 4/9? cause I don't think a ninth is better then a third and stacking should be beneficial
It doesn't go to 4/9ths. It goes directly to 1/9th, which is better as a ninth is smaller than a third, meaning you end up taking less of the damage.
