I love Mainstay it is a budget saver if you have a way to shop at different Walmart's you can find quite a few colors , I have found all the primary colors along with aqua , teal white Black and 5 different varigate skeins colors ! I have washed in washer and dry low heat dryer ! It's so soft works up well ! Sending smiles to U & Urs hugs too " BTW thank you I surly got a laugh at the "teal" it is Blue " to me Yes it is a blue " !!! they have a true red and a true blue and purple in mainstay

You have the whole box of crayons😁! If you remember the 96 box of Crayola crayons? Like multiples of it😁. You are So prepared and ready for any project! Plus you have the charities you make for. Nicely done😊. That's my overall reasoning behind my collection. I am hoping to collect all the colors and textures I want to make with, to have them on hand. I live in a small, country town and there are no yarn stores/craft stores near by. So when I'm able, I buy what I can to have a nice selection on hand. Though I'm trying not to get buried in yarn😅. It's lovely to see your happiness with the craft and materials to do it. Have a great weekend!
Hi Juan! You have a new fan here!! I'm intrigued. I never saw anyone actually show us the difference between an inside pull and an outside pull. I'm fascinated. I guess that's why sometimes the yarn seems to be twisted in the wrong direction when I'm working with it! Since I always pull from the center, regardless! And also why some skeins don't seem to cooperate when being pulled from the center. As for charities that need blankets, a lot of us are making blankets for Boggy Creek. Boggy Creek is a camp in Florida for critically ill children. Each child gets to take home their handmade blanket when they leave camp. If you go over to She'z Got Yarn 2, you can get all the info. She has a video linked below of a tour of Boggy Creek and their facilities. Last year we raised about 370 blankets. This year we're hoping to double that amount and possibly reach 1,000. We have until the end of January to send them in. At this point, we have already almost reached last year's total!!! Thank you for your wonderful content and for sharing your love of yarn! ❤

AND I ALWAYS keep mainstay in my stash in white for my baby blankets ( i love to do them in white with a colorful border). ALSO you can look into your local NICU's at the hospitals for newborn baby blankets, local cancer treatment centers (its usually cold in there) and even nursing facilities (nursing homes) to donate lapghans for wheelchair bound residents. (I'm a nurse and donate often to these places in my city of San Antonio as well as washcloths for vets)... just some ideas for you love. I hope you have a GREAT rest of your week! BESOS!
That Fiesta is a straight party 🎉 baby! It indeed looks like a watercolor painting 🖼️. It is definitely an ARAN weight. Too thick to be a solid 4 weight but too thin to be a Bulky 5 weight. I actually love Aran weight yarns 😍. I want to pick some up but I am on a ban with Cinnamon Stitches 😂. Love your yarns my friend 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🧶🧶🧶🧶🥰 And thank you for the excited “ God I love this SO MUCH!” upward eye roll. It is very much a Delawarean thing we do when we are excited 😊😊😊

The landscapes yarn is my sunset here in central Florida. I am moving out of state and have to get this, so I can take a memory of it with me. Thank you for sharing. I love the Mainstay too. I made my grandson a Spider-Man blanket with it. It is one of my favorites that I’ve made so far

i love your excitement over the simple things when it comes to yarn. I've been around yarn for my entire life and working with it for 30+ years. Mainstays is a workhorse yarn when it comes to being able to work it up. I love it. I'm disappointed in the color selection also, I've mixed it with red heart and bernat premium yarn and had no problems switching back and forth.

Love the thyme and pacific blue colors as well as the landscape rebranded one😍. I haven’t tried the mainstays acrylic but I have done some items with the cotton and I love it it’s so soft, although like you mentioned, the lack of colors is a bummer. Thanks for sharing Juan!
I do like mainstay. It's kind of soft and the anti-pill is nice too. Yea, I wish there was more colors. Maybe online?? The landscape yarn is nice. The veterans are going to love your blanket s. ❤❤
Man, I wish my stores had such a great selection! I like Mainstay and they have it in a large 14oz size. I have only seen white, red, and black. Enjoying your podcast! Very nice abour your giving blankets to the homeless. I want to find a trustworthy charity. I have found in the past that certain non profit agency workers took the best donations, feeling they werent paid enough and so deserved them! I've seen a woman selling donated items at a craft fair too, pretending she made them all and believe me there were a lot of items!
I can definitely relate to being so excited about a color way of yarn, lol hobby lobby I love this yarn in (San dunes) does it for me, I’ve made two afghans, two hats a scarf, a cowl, and leg warmers, out of it, and now I want to make a shawl, lol… 😊
Mainstays is a good yarn. Works up great and you can't beat it for the price. Like you, the color options are limited, but for an inexpensive yarn, it's good.

I love the Eddie Bauer line! I think it makes beautiful masculine sweaters or beanies. My opinion of course 😂❤ I bought a bunch when it first came out.
I love Main Stay’s Orange. Red Heart doesn’t make regular orange anymore, which is silly. We need basic primary and secondary colors. Like you said, the yellows, too. Basic yellow and orange are hard to find. I need to find a job that’s work from home so I can keep buying yarn. I’d like to make charity blankets on a regular basis. Kids toys, too. ❤

So many questions! One - can we see some of the blankets that you donate? Two - have you ever kept track of how many yards of yard you've gone through in a year? Third - not a question, but thank you for your donation to the veterans. Our local ladies group is also doing a blanket donation for a new veterans' village. I have two boys in the Marine Corp. I feel like I am paying into the karma bucket for their future.
I used Crystal's Stitch Sampler Beanie and used Vibrant orange and Camouflage for a hunting hat the single crochet bands is where I did the orange as well as the crown I did in orange. My husband misplaced the one I made him last year
I just got my Joann order of Eddie bower but I order the crimson and the gray, I am planing to make a cardigan and a hat, and of I have enough I may make fingerless gloves...😊
Great video! The closest JoAnn's to me is 2 hours away, so Walmart and BiMart are my only options for buying yarn in person. Trying to use up some stuff I've had for years, but will definitely head to Walmart when it's time to restock!

So many questions! One - can we see some of the blankets that you donate? Two - have you ever kept track of how many yards of yard you've gone through in a year? Third - not a question, but thank you for your donation to the veterans. Our local ladies group is also doing a blanket donation for a new veterans' village. I have two boys in the Marine Corp. I feel like I am paying into the karma bucket for their future.
I used Crystal's Stitch Sampler Beanie and used Vibrant orange and Camouflage for a hunting hat the single crochet bands is where I did the orange as well as the crown I did in orange. My husband misplaced the one I made him last year

There's nothing wrong with mainstay yarn. I have used it and I like the colors. I don't go by what they call it. Nice haul.

Great video! The closest JoAnn's to me is 2 hours away, so Walmart and BiMart are my only options for buying yarn in person. Trying to use up some stuff I've had for years, but will definitely head to Walmart when it's time to restock!
