@@CalicoClassics I found out recently that when they were designing the Corvette they felt that they could get the vehicle in production faster if they built it out of fiberglass. Would be interesting if the car was manufactured out of metal or aluminum.
I own a 76 and 78. Had the 76 33yrs. Change the calipers. Rebuilds come with stainless inserts. The rear was designed in 1962. Half shaft u-joints should also be done and with high quality. If one snaps it is a control link plus takes the rear out of the car as it whips around.
James Stewart Is Correct!!! It's Not A 77 It's A 76!!! Stingray Was Discontinued After The 76 Model Year!!! 77 Was Just A Corvette!!! My Stingray Is A 76!!! I Have Videos Of The Complete Rear End Setup Being Rebuilt!!! There Are Special Tools To Deal With The Rear Control Arms And Hub Assemblys!!! I Would Say That The Rear Wheel Bearing Need To Be Greased Due To How Hard They Are To Do It Highly Probable That They Have NEVER Been Greased!!! It's An Order To Do Them But Certainly Doable!!! I've Done 2 Set Now!!! Mine And A Customers!!! Good Luck With It Tim!!! Keep Rocking It Out Brother!!!
Thanks Pat. I was trying to find your videos on it and seemed I could only find the cruising videos. I will go back and try to find them. Your channel is great and fun.
James, I will investigate more today and report back. I just went off the client and never looked at the VIN yet. Thanks for the info and also checking out the video👍👍👍👍
@CalicoClassics It Has Stingray Badging And 76 Was The Last Years For The "Stingray" Badging!!!! 77 Is NOT A Stingray!!! Just A Corvette!!! Hope That Helps!!! Keep Rocking!!!
I looked up how much weight a Chevy Corvette is in 1977, I'm surprised it's 3444 pounds.
Yes that is surprising Robert. Now I wonder, is it a 1000 plus pound hood?😂
