Solent Plaice Fishing Boat Fishing Southampton Water Sakuma Trident Penn Authority United Kingdom

Southampton Water never stops throwing up the unexpected fish......the diversity of species is unreal......
Now I certainly had no intention of Fishing for Plaice..... but right place right time.....on this occasion
It was suppose to be a chill out session and to a certain degree it was now the chosen mark is a sole spot not that I was going for Sole but on occasion it can throw up the odd surprise and this trip was no exception....
Just before the monster Plaice struck I'd just landed a small strap eel and the way this bite and fight developed I just thought I had a larger strap conger but to see that slab come up just under the surface I knew I had something special and special it was 😀😀😀
And in 40ft of water just in the channel it gave a good account of its self......
Not bad for a few hrs Fishing 😀😀😀😉

9 Dogfish
2 Bass
5 Whiting
1 Strap Eel

Yeah unreal was just going out to chill out I will take anything that comes along.....specimen wise that is 🤣 couldn't believe it when it hit the surface I've never fished that mark this time of year I seriously thought was another maybe slightly larger strap eel....but that is Southampton water for you.....I appreciate the watch and comment 😊

@@DobbosFishingAdventures I love it when a new Dobbo vid pops up so looking forward to the rays! Those Ventnor plaice were something special - long gone now unfortunately. I remember having a cooler with 20lb of plaice in it heading back to Yaverland one time - 3 fish! One 8lb (Mobes’ record) and 2 x 6lb’ers - unreal!
