Waylon, Buddy, Ritchie and The Big Bopper. R.I.P. All of you! Shawn
At least still got Dion, Willie, and Mr. John Fogerty around today.
Who misses Waylon.?
I know i do..
He is with his friend now and he is free of that diabetes that riddled his body
We the family do, Forever..
I do but I love that we can always go back to the records and interviews. One of the great things about saving our vinyl. Also one of the great things about the internet. Waylon was one of the greats!
@@susiehaynie1767
Yes Madam, my whole point exactly - it's just good to hear from some of the great Waylon fans such as yourself that's all,
thank you sharing back your reply Susie - much respects to you..
My most prized possession is an autographed photo I reseaved in 1994 from Waylon!
How in the hell could anybody put a thumbs down to the one only OUTLAW and the best musician that walked through this life. WAYLON4LIFE
Someone who knows nothing about what a great artist is.A legend. They have no clue what it's all about.
Love Waylon
That's what I call Down Right stupid!!!!
My husband love the song rainy day woman

I was just at the Surf Ballroom 2 weeks ago and saw Waylon's autograph on the wall of the famous green room backstage. The fact that he didn't return to the Surf until 36 years after that snowy and tragic night says a lot about how haunted Waylon was by the memories and at the time a seemingly innocuous joke
To be fair, as Waylon got more famous, he played bigger venues.
@@stanleycoop7204 he still played a venue's that size if you watch his UA-cam videos
Il a eu de la chance de perdre le pari autrement il serrai mort avec les légendes dans l'avion
Reposer en paix les legendes
Greatest musician to have ever stepped foot on a stage
I'm convinced the events that happened that night changed Waylon. I love the man and I'm so blessed to have made my pass thru this universe while he was here and I'm blessed to have seen him. People think they'd like to win the lottery. All the money in the world wouldn't bring him back. If you got to know who Waylon was and you love his music, you won the lottery.
I saw this concert at the SURF in person April 22,1995. I had my ear right next to the speaker. Greatest concert I ever went to. I got to stand within 40 ft of WAYLON. Jesse was there too. Wish I cold relive that night. WAYLON was a sweet humble man with an outstanding voice and the KING of country music. imo. He had his own music and I can name a WAYLON tune in 3 notes. :-) I truly miss being able to see him in live concert.
I attended this concert when Waylon returned, standing room only and I was front row center stage all evening about 15 feet from where Waylon sung. Greatest memory I have of Hoss.
I love Waylon and Buddy Holly too and I wish they were still here today
He is still hurt about it and his guilt is heavy in his heart!! Waylon R.I.P. You a great man!!!
TheRonnie63 I saw that to much like when a parent of ours passes and you forever wonder what you could have done different
@@spectrumlocalb191 believe me I know what that is like , I hear you
I lost my Dad about 2 years ago and I still have questions that I seek answers to
@@spectrumlocalb191 he never got over that joke between him and Buddy thats not why the plane crashed
I always wonder why anyone feels guilty about someone's death. God is in charge and always will be. Nothing to feel guilty about. You can't change someone's "time", only God can do that. He choses when we go, period.
I dont know the man personally, but he seems like a genuinely humble human being. The kind of person that's a friend to the end. Thanks for the memories Mr Waylon.
I was at dinner with Waylon and Jessie one night when a young man came to the table and asked him if he was Waylon. Waylon really made the young man feel comfortable, said he was, and gave him an autograph. Others in the restaurant just looked but decided not to bother us while we ate. After dinner, we went outside to the car and a young lady came up to me and asked if that was Jessie Colter and I said it was. She got all excited and asked me if she could get a photo with her and I said I would ask her. I did and Jessie met the young lady and gave her an autograph. Waylon called her over and also gave her his autograph.
He was always a real gentleman and never once ignored the man on the street.
I will always miss him.
🤘
Oh, he's a real gentleman!!! A true blue person!!!❤😂
Loved Waylon gone to soon! RIP HOSS! You will never be forgotten! Buddy would be proud of the legend you became! That terrible plane crash was not your fault! Buddy would be the first to say so !! RIP Buddy you are not forgotten either!! ❤️
Buddy probably met at the gate.
Beautiful words my friend, 👌👍👍👍
The Man, The Outlaw, The Legend..
The last time he was there was that very NIGHT in 1959!!
Imagine that!😲
Absolute legend. R.I.P Big man
Waylon got me into country music in the `70s...read his bio in the `90s and liked the guy even more...he and his music will be sorely missed.
I can’t imagine how much guilt this poor man felt once he heard about what happened.
He was a very lucky man to have been in their lives - look at it as a blessing .
When I get depressed put one of his CDs on and it brings me out of it. I LOVE WAYLON
I love listening to Waylon’s stories as much as I love his music.
That poor man must have been so haunted. Still an absolute legend in his own right.
That Sarky Trans Guy -survivors guilt is a long damn day.
Been there and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
Buddy really believed in him when he didn't even know how to play bass. He wanted to produce him and Ritchie when they finished the tour.
He was haunted, for sure...you say legend in his own right...he's just a legend! Anyway you want to look at it...Waylon Jennings will always be remembered.
Kevin Prima It was only a joke as he’d given up his seat to help BB out. Young ppl do joke and guys use jokes via emotional dramatic stuff.
Still our memory...
What a cool man. I could listen to his music for the rest of my life and it would never be enough.
Simply love Jennings. Great singer/songwriter. Good looking guy too. The whole package. Listen to his songs all the time - in New York City. Thanks Waylon.
Waylon was one good looking man! 😍
Years ago
Waylon wrote a song called Old Friend dedicated to his friend Buddy Holly. Well worth taking a listen to.
Also A long time ago. Great song
@Kevin Prima they were joking around with each other. Those words also haunted him for years...
Just a couple of young guys bantering back and forth. "Well I hope your bus freezes up" " Oh yeah, well I hope your old plane crashes" Neither of them thinking it could ever happen. And then it did.
@@garyfaught3769 exactly!
God bless you Waylon. God bless Buddy, and JP, Ritchie, and Tommy too.
Waylon that's the way me and my best friends say we love each other you were in no way responsible. That was all way before even my parents time but I'm sure buddy would say don't you dare feel guilty shit happens I still hope your ol bus freezes up love you Waylon I'll see you in heaven well jam together r.i.p. both of you
I'm 67 yrs old and I remember when they died,so very sad ,they were good clean musicians, may they rest in peace
You were just a little kid then... wow were your parents into Buddy Holly or Big Bopper .. or did you have older siblings that were into them ?
I was 18 when it happened. We all sat round with guitars and had a sort of wake. Crazy thing is a young guy there age 15 who was learning guitar and would many many years later actually tour with the crickets on lead guitar was my friend .Name. Albert Lee. He goes every year to Surf ballroom in Feb for the 59 anniversary.
John I hope you got good and liquored for the boys my friend. must have been a horrible day. what were you doing when you heard? Hopefully you go with Albert this year. Amazing stories Albert must have as well
Absolutely handsome, charming, and talented man. What a loss. He had it all.
I could listen to him all day.
Waylon, the man was one of a kind!
I knew Waylon when he played at JDs in Scottsdale. He wasn’t very approachable but once you talked to him he was really a gracious and personable guy. I miss him.
I visited Waylon's gravesite in Mesa last month. Love that man❣️
Hi Judith
Got see Waylon in concert back 1988. Me and sister. In Mpls by Cherry spoon area. Outside concert. God bless Waylon and Buddy Holly and Richie Valens and Be Bopper. Up in heaven now.
Hi Julie
After such an experience as the crash of the plane is no longer the same person as before and you have to fight with security hard with himself and the world! Waylon must have had a damn strong will, and also character to work out of it again and especially to find the courage nevertheless, with the memories of the lost friends to continue to make music and find his own way. Unfortunately I never had the opportunity to see him live, but his music lets him live on at least in the memory. Also here in Germany.
I hope my English is good enough to understand what I want to say! Unfortunately, I do not have too often the opportunity to practice my American English! Waylon Jennings was one of the best musicians I have heard.
Waylon is the staple for classic country music 🎵 he is classic country at it's best
My he was so dam good looking.and also a great performer.so sad this man passed away.
Nice video. Not sure how no more views and comments. A huge part of music history! Buddy and Waylon were so close.
this man looks completely photogenic. He was actually more handsome as he got older. He looked like a different person.
That's interesting because I did think he was much more Handsome when he was younger but I kind of do see what you mean now.. funny thing is yes he does look completely different.. especially the look in his eyes is very different .
Yes, no more drugs.
Well said. Really clear way of speaking too.
He definitely changed as he got older...his voice did too. In his early days it was almost always smooth...as he got older he got that gravely sound that come to define him. He was the man!
@@kevinshoemakermusic3850 cocaine and cigarettes will do that to a man's voice
Waylon was one of the best out there
I still believe he was the best to ever do it. I love a lot of the greats but Waylon is my favorite.
I love Waylon and have since a little girl (kind of a long time, now).
You're beautiful Rachel
You have fabulous taste! I’ve always thought he had the most beautiful face... his strong features were so unique and masculine. Very handsome. My teenage daughter has a pic of young outlaw Waylon on her bulletin board.
@@joshrichardson3837 good try mate...she is a cutie...and loves waylon! Sounds too good to be true

Hi Rachel
This gentleman is real. Listen to his lyrics! I believe he is a GOOD human.
Waylon was just so Laid Back and so Cool, and oh yes Handsome..
Thank you for posting. Waylon and Mark Knofler’s version of ‘Learning The Game’ is spellbinding.
So much for Dion's story!
I used to ride my bike past the Surf Ballroom a lot as a kid. I miss living in Clear Lake.
Truly a man's man RIP Waylon and say hi to Buddy for us :)

Saw Waylon with the Crickets, twice in Iowa in the late 70s. Great shows. The man was a legend. He had Jessi Colter with him one year.
Always find it interesting that his most popular songs are great but not necessarily his best. Dig into his catalogue. It’s is incredible. Especially 60s and 70s
Especially 70s. A good album that’s pretty fun is the life story one he did in 88.
Waylon is the man period!!!!!
Saw him and Jesse once. They were great.
This took courage to do. A measure of the man himself. Buddy and Waylon gone way too soon.
I just found out my brother visited the crash site 10 years ago. He never mentioned it. Had no idea my brother never told me ever was in Iowa. I envy him.
lm almost 56.. fan since 76. im proud of that..
Scott Allen -- Heard him for the first time - Fall of '76-- Windham,Oh.,on the jukebox @ Club 303- I was 11 years old. Had beach pop on the brain, I was fresh back to Ohio from Long Beach, CA. COMPLETELY CHANGED MY MUSICAL DIRECTION. Nick.Carpenter.505 @ FB--check it out to see where I wound up.
I love bubby holly i was one year old then, every time i go to lubbock i go to his grave.
R.i.p
@@nickcarpenter1196 I ditched my Facebook... so..... I can't go see where you ended up... but sounds like you may have ended up something to do with music or country music
66/74 for me
I wrote a story once that Buddy Holly missed the plane but lost his memory in a car crash and then years later remembered. It was a labour of love and wishful thinking. My research for the story revealed how Waylon was given a bass guitar by Buddy and told to learn it which he did despite misgivings.
That haunted poor Waylon. made him Lonesome onry and mean. Love the real country. R.I.P Waylon
Extremely interesting. I love this musician, must have been a real trauma... he was so young when it happened
Gone missed but never forgotten
That was awesome what he told Mark Knopfler, Buddy's song remained like he recorded it
Love Waylon and Buddy was the best!!!
A VALUABLE LESSON IN LIFE HERE IS LEARNING TO FORGIVE YOURSELF FOR YOUR MISTAKES AND CIRCUMSTANCES; BUT, THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL IS TO LEARN FROM THEM AND MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFE. THIS SEEMS TO BE THE HARDEST PART THAT A LOT OF US FIND HARD TO GRASP! 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
Thank you so much for this interesting vidéo

I love you Waylon Jennings. You are still my favorite to listen to.
Waylon was a great man !
Waylon Jennings is the only man I ever saw who would not claim bankruptcy so he didn’t have to pay his debts. He paid everyone off he exercised. He is or was a honest man. Yes he had a rough time with drugs but he whipped them and still had a successful life. I loved Waylon. Allot because of his talent but one reason is he looked allot like my late husband. Fact is in this video here he looks so much like Bill it makes me cry. I love you Waylon. I’m so proud of you for whipping that drug problem. I’m so glad you met Jesse cause she was the exact one for you.
Er war so ein sympathischer Mann !!!!! Und einer der besten Country Sänger ‼️‼️
Awesome interview
the best rip Waylon

Donna Buckner Buckner I did not know he even passed
This was very cool . Thanks for the post !
He's been with Buddy since 2002, and I'm sure they're making beautiful music with and for the Lord, up above the stars, right now
Hes a real emphat .he inspire people around him and got lost but he knows to come back and learned lesson about it and go straight
Thankyou sweetheart hugs .
Has a great voice even when he talks
Thats why he was the narrarator for Dukes of Hazzard
My wife and I visited the crash site last weekend-- I wondered whether Waylon had ever visited the site. It had to be tough living life after that tragedy-- knowing that it could have been his own life ending.
Waylon, Buddy, Ritchie, Big Bopper, gave us very, very much happiness. All giants, rest in peace.
"Because of that decision, I'm alive--and he's dead," Waylon said tearfully of Buddy Holly in an A & E interview. He was referring to giving up his seat on the Cessna to the Big Bopper. Tommy Allsup gave up his seat to Ritchie Valens after a coin toss. It haunted Jennings for the rest of his life, despite his successful musical career. He comes across in this interview as a down-to-earth and likable man.
RIP Buddy Holly, Big Bopper, Ritchie Valens, and Waylon Jennings. Your contributions mean a lot to me! 😄😺🎸🎸🎸🎸🎵🎶🎶🎵🎼🎼
Cessna? I don't know who you're talking about but you better get your facts straight if you're going to act like you know what you're talking about, Cessna! Dumbass
Loved Waylon. :-) ms charlie, texas :-)
I was NEVER fortunate to be able to go to ant concerts. I'M 79 and would have LOVED to go to at least one!
Such an honest, genuine person
AWESOME !!
Great video
RIP Buddy, Richie, Bopper and Roger Peterson. RIP Waylon you were so great.
He radiated cool.
Listen to Waylon's song old friend it's on the Are you ready for the country album 1976 it's about Buddy you can hear the pain he still missed Buddy I believe the hard times he spoke of going through in the song are the drugs and the crash played a big part in his addiction for so many years
Bunch of young guys with some awsome early early
Rockin Role..
I wonder how much R and R
They had in them...
What a terrible loss...
I still listen to Waylon daily in 2024.
One of a kind. Outlaw.
I sure do miss him!
Pure legend
I'm Singaporean so almost fell out of my chair when he suddenly mentioned Singapore
WAYLON HAD A TOURTURED SOUL
Not only was he a great musician but a heck of good looking man. I hope before he died he realized how much he was loved by his followers, and appreciated and loved himself.
FANTASTIC!!!!
Your missed
My friend
God bless
You😊
He's absolutely right about the producers
Wow. Wow. Just wow!
Tommy and Richie flipped a coin and that makes sense because the plane was chartered for Buddy and his band. Why Dion said that it didn’t happen that way doesn’t make sense because of what I just said. It was for Buddy’s band not Richie or the Big Bopper.
A simpler time
