very good actress! I am of the same age group and remember her from Soggadu days .. Jyothi, Idi Kadha kaadu, Aame Kadha etc Regarding Padma Shri, it all depends on how many artistes can be given. Jaya Sudha deserves it without doubt, but there are other artistes too who deserve it who have not been awarded yet.

Long back, when Dadasaheb Phalke award was announced for 'Pran' (famous Hindi movie Villian) I was surprised ( I have nothing against him. He was a good actor). I wondered, what are criteria for selecting someone for Phalke award? Just an actor or someone who contributes to film industry in different ways?
If acting is the only criterion we gave great actors like SV Rangarao, Gummadi Venkateswar Rao, Nagabhushan, Rao Gopal Rao and such versatile villains & character actors actors also in other south indian industries! And amongst women we have a long list starting from Suryakantam!
If one has to contribute to the industry in different ways we have people like NTR who contributed in multiple ways (his political career seems to irk the babus of Delhi). If his political career is coming in the way then it is nothing but politicising national awards!
Govt should either be impartial or pull out of 'awards' activity. That is the least it can do for film industry.
If Govt awards have to be in sync with the fans and movie goers it has to change. Movie goers across the country have matured in/by patronizing Prabhas- Rana, Allu Arjun, Jr NTR-Ram Charan and Adivi Sesh....
It is time the Govt takes a call!
I’m hoping that organisations like MAA will nominate your name. Movie associations should review and send nominations for Padma awards otherwise we will be testing our chances and we may never get it. Respect and recognition at home is more important otherwise centre won’t recognise. Also state governments should act impartially and nominate the talented.

RK garu, I am a Tamilian, born in Chennai but brought up in Secunderabad. Now based in Mumbai. The Tamil pride you were mentioning is fanatical being followed by the Dravidian parties and their sycophants. They don't allow the caste issue to die, targetting a particular caste for all the wrongdoing. How many people born after 2000 can even speak Tamil properly? Leave alone following their culture. All are simply aping the west, no traditional wears, no bindi or flowers..wearing sarees is in the wean..Personally speaking I feel Telugu people are more broad minded but agree they too have a very very Rich language (sundara Telugu) and a equally rich culture which ought not to be forgotten..should be nourished and encouraged.
You are not a Tamilian..you are a Aryan Parppan irrespective of where you were born .. let’s Native Tamils worry about their Dravidian language and culture
