3 things: 1) The middle class doesn't exist. There are not clear definable lines and people don't even know where they rank when surveyed. 2) Those countries are poor due to the imperialist and neo-colonial polices of the US and the other imperial powers like those in Europe. 3)The American dream is not the idea that everything is excellent in America, although that's part of it, the core premise is that America should have the greatest social mobility because it's a capitalist meritocracy where the harder you work, the further you go and it doesn't matter where you come from. Ultimately, that's not true and life is INCREDIBLY difficult for most working class Americans who are part of a system that is stacked against them.

1) The middle class doesn't exist.
USA Social Mobility Rank in 2020 - 2021: 27th
The American Dream is to move to Scandinavia

1:48 Get a secured credit card. You give the credit card company a few hundred dollars, which earn interest, and you get a credit card with the same amount of credit available. After two years of using your credit card RESPONSIBLY, you get the money back.
In my opinion the american dream is not a "myth", It may have gotten EXPONENTIALLY harder to achieve due to other real problems in this country, but the dream is not dead and if it does die, then tbh I would be ashamed to live here
"He seems lazy" was literally the cherry on top! The rich especially one involved in nepotism are so clueless. 😂
While I’m not saying it’s not difficult, it _is_ very possible. My dad grew up in the 80s with his divorced parents living paycheck to paycheck. They couldn’t afford to send him to college. But by his own hard work, money he saved, and academic scholarships he earned, he went to one of the best schools in his state and now my family has reached literal millionaire status.
Yes it’s hard but I know personally that it can be done.
Can't wait til Steven Crowder sees this "masterpiece".
Yeah, I'm sure he'll be able to fit a response somewhere between denying Global Warming and collaborating with ""race realists""
@Nob the Knave ok but what does alt-right means, because i know that neo-nazi are only nazis who now think that to kill slavs isn't cool anymore and race matter more than nationality.
Oh yeah the same way he "debunked" America isn't the best country in world anymore. By saying that America has the biggest economy and the biggest military. That was his counter arguments. Those 2 things....
@@hiiamhi.23 Did you even watch the video because it's a lot more than that lmfao
@@cato_ix The other stuff was mostly his opinion, those 2 are the ones that are factually correct. Maybe he said more, saw it ages ago, I remember those 2 the most and I remember it not being convincing enough to agree with the statement of "America is the greatest country in the world" He had no real evidence to support that claim.
Adam couldn’t make this video in any other country without being executed lmao that tells you how good we have it 👍🏼
You need to go out more 😂😂😂
Then again there aren't really any other country advertising the dream of freedom and wealth as aggressively as America. He won't be making any videos about any other nations because the inhabitants already knew that the world is a stupid place.
littlebigmarc elaborate?
What he’s saying is that your living in a hyper exaggerated fantasy
He could do it in England, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Australia, even Mexico
The US has the right to free speech but a lot of other countries do it better
Yep! The only time I have ever lived comfortably is when I started working overseas as an English Teacher.
Didn't even mention how if you start of wealthy, it's a lot easier to stay wealthy.
I watched this cartoon on UA-cam today - "Cartoon predicts the future more than 60 years ago. This is amazing insight!"
After seeing Adam on Joe Rogan, I cant watch him as an authority on “facts” anymore :/
Same! I have to be super critical with what he says! Like people have risen from poverty to become rich before. Its hardly happens, but isn't that what makes it a DREAM. Not a reality. 🤔. So why would it be a myth? Saying its a "Myth" implies that its not real and would never happen.
@@zachh127zh I think it's because waaaaay to many people still believe this myth in America.
He's a writer and comedian who happens to have a lot of trivia type knowledge. Shows like this one are often written by people like instigative journalists. Don't confuse the face of the show with the messages of the show.
20% of my annual income goes straight to my car insurance. Yayyy...
I can’t remember the last time I saw my money make it past my rent bill.............
My car insurance is 80 dollars a month. So either you're working part time for minimum wage, or you own a monster truck.
@@Dennis-nc3vw I know you posted this a year ago but I thought this was worth mentioning: you obviously live in an area with far lower car insurance rates than they do.
Also the cost of living is MASSIVELY different between different regions.
Its like how in some small towns you can rent a 2 bedroom apartment for $500 or less a month but in big city the cheapest crappiest 1 bedroom apartment costs $900 a month
(Edited studio to 1 bedroom)
For the record the the Classic American dream has happened for some people it's just so rare it might as well not exist overall.
1:48. God this is so true. Credit and how it works is one of the stupidest things I've ever had to deal with.
I know this is being played for laughs and to make a point, but I genuinely want to slap people like that woman at the end. Those are the same f***ing morons who think "pick yourself up by your bootstraps" is an actual thing - the entire phrase was coined to illustrate socio-economic inequality and how "true-grit" could only get you so far, so they used the bootstraps phrase because they thought it would be IMMEDIATELY obvious to anyone that such an action is physiologically impossible. Yet ironically (and depressingly) it had the reverse effect.
Adam is estimated to be worth $50 million, but no one's sure bc he refuses to actually disclose the info. He literally talks about all of the poor suffering & then goes home to a mansion. If that woman at the end bothered you, then why do you like him?
@@KitNeedsCoffee because the women embodies everything wrong with the rich.
The American dream, may you never wake up.
Heck...affording a dog is and was my splurging. And I never regret that decision to adopt my best friend. But it is a struggle... he wasn't kidding.
15000 dollars a year is considered poor there?
Here, being a profesional working on one of the top companys of my country, im still earning less than 13000 dollars a year, and we spend more than half of our earnings paying taxes
One person can barely scrape by with that here.
What's the average disposable income and average cost of living - maybe that's where it differs to the states?
He’s back!
I don't know why, but I'm rather shocked at the number of dislikes this has. Like, this is provable, there's evidence behind this. Disliking this is nothing short of plugging up your ears with your fingers and screaming loudly to distract everyone from the issue at hand.
"Everyone is just lazy and want handouts, they don't want to work"
I thought he would still be hiding in a cave somewhere after his JRE disaster.
But hey, at least uncle Sam has your healthcare... Oh wait, college educa...
Why is America the best country again?
Because America
At least that’s what school taught me
It isn't.
Because you can have guns to defend yourself from whatever.

im pretty sure every book we were forced to read in highschool talked about how the american dream is false
My father was a farm boy with 14 siblings who grew up to be a Wall Street lawyer and now is a member of the local yacht club. So sure, your leftwing fantasy book said one thing, reality says another.
@@Dennis-nc3vw i never said it was my fantasy. my family came into this country from Vietnam with nothing but the clothes on their back and $20 given to them by the government. and now they have a 6 figure salary
1100 proud Americans dislike the reality.
Greetings from Germany ;D
Our country has almost twice as much living space per capita as yours, so you can suck it.
ADAM IS BACK SKSKSKSKS
Mmm and this is indeed one of the multiple flaws in America :)
yet over half of the world is still worse off :)
I am paranoid that people think I am “lazy” because I am autistic and as a result people don’t want to hire me because I need a tiny bit extra time to learn something. In the classes I took to try and give me the skills for a job I had to work twice as fast and my end result never looked as good as the other students. I need a job so that I can marry my boyfriend one day help to buy a home or help the upkeep of the house he will be inheriting from his parents when they pass.
Adam’s never been poor and gets off from shitting on rich people
Change My Mind

I live in a first world european country and 15-20k dollars a year is the average salary here

If you're willfully blind. How can people making $15,000 a year and people making $20,000 a year only have 1 dollar a day of disposable income? That's mathematically impossible unless increased wage correlates with increase cost of living at a greater than 99.9% rate.

NEW EPISODE YEET
BUT it wasn’t always like this... when union membership was at its highest was when the middle class was the most prosperous and at its largest ... what’s going on now is a nightmare because of lack of unions
Also the fact that the unions can't beat the immigrants any more.
Norway #2!! Sadly.... but i guess Denmark beat us somehow.
I knew its "Adam ruins everythimg" when I looked at the like ratio
1.1k patriotic ‘mericans felt offended as we can clearly see from the like/dislike ratio...
Paul Lomax Oh, poor you... did a youtube video trigger you, little snowflake?
Paul Lomax It’s actually funnier to use such buzzwords like “triggered” or “snowflake” against the very ones that criticize others, while doing the exact same thing. It shows how ironically stupid you guys actually look like. Basically, you havn’t brought any counter-argument against this video’s message at all, except for some cringe jokes about Adam’s hair. I’m sorry, but your intelligence stands no higher than an average “npc”.
Paul Lomax Eh, the very “smart” ones given by “No bullshit”? Nice one... go ahead, repeat them.
I like how this episode, the one Adam is helping is Uncle Sam, who’s been a recurring character in bits. Provides a weird sense of continuity.
Damn you guys just described how my life has always been, I didn't even realize how bad off I was until I went to a charter high school and saw all these kids with iphones, cars, and some of them even went to a food cart down the street everyday where the breakfast hoagies were $5 - $7. All I could do at the time was stare at them wondering how they could afford all of it while I had a $40 off brand phone, always ate cafeteria food and rarely ever saw money back then.
It's not any better now but hey, at least where I'm from a roll of toilet paper is a $1.50 instead of $3.
