You know, these stories always have this situation where the girl is "beautiful but shallow," and the guy who wants her is "ugly but has a good heart." But he still falls for the girl even though she has an ugly personality/is ugly on the inside, just because of her looks. Isn't that kind of a double standard in the first place? Shouldn't the "ugly but good-hearted" guy ideally stop wanting the "beautiful but ugly inside" girl, and start looking at other "ugly but good-hearted" girls? Or is it only "deep and meaningful" when the girl is beautiful on the outside? Why should the "beautiful but ugly inside" girl look at the "ugly but good-hearted" guy instead of a "handsome but ugly inside" guy, if no one ever looks at girls who aren't beautiful on the outside anyway?
