"Fasıl" is a Turkish Cassical Musical form which means “section or part” in Turkish. It refers to the playing the pieces in a specific order. This is sometimes translated as “Suite” in English. As its name suggests, it consists of music played continuously, one after the other. Fasıl, apart from its modal structure, is also related to singing while playing. Of course, percussion instruments and words accompany the fasıl. Among these instruments, the cymbals of the "tambourine" were somehow adapted into the orchestra. Thus, cymbals were worn on the wrists at the same time as flutes. The composer wanted to establish a connection with the past and the present, and to express this in a contemporary form.
Adından da anlaşılacağı gibi arka arkaya durmadan çalınan müziklerden oluşur. Fasıl, makamsal yapısının dışında, çalarken söylemekle de ilgilidir. Elbette fasılda, vurma çalgılar ve sözler de eşlik eder. Bu çalgılar içinden “tef” in zilleri bir şekilde orkestra içine uyarlanmıştır. Böylece flütlerle aynı anda bileklere zil takılarak kullanılmıştır. Besteci, geçmişle ve günümüzle bir bağlantı kurmak öte yandan bunu çağdaş bir formda anlatmak istemiştir.
