I actually ended up getting a great deal on a 2009 gpr 50with 0 km that has been a show model. It has been great and i have learned alot since then about riding and bikes in general.
Found your channel when doing research on the Aprilia RS50, gonna be buying one soon. I have experience with geared bikes, but I just wanted to compliment you on this video, It's really good for beginners, very well done man.
Ross RS Just picked up my RS50 today, absolutely loving it! Was super surprised by how comfortable and fun it is to ride it, was kinda nervous since its my first sport model bike I've ever ridden, but it's just great!
Ross RS Mine is from 2005, so the older shape. The fairings are a bit worn, but mechanically its in a really good shape, and yeah, I think gearing is one of the most fun parts about having a motorcycle/moped. I got it for 400 euros, so I'd consider that a really good deal.
I love the look and style of the rs50, and it is my 16th birthday coming up soon and I've told my parents that I would like the rs50, I've been looking on other videos to see what bike I should get and it has had the aprilia rs50 at the top every time, I currently own a 140cc pit bike but it has too much power for me to learn on so I havnt been on it recently, but if I do get the rs50 later on I can hopefully learn on it and put that knowledge when I go out on my 140cc

Ive been following your channel for a long while. I too had an rs50 then 4t 125 then rs125 and am now looking fir an sv650. My question is, Do you ever miss the old 50? Im fortunate to have kept all my old bikes and sometimes give the 50 a wee blast
Yeah I do miss the little 50, obviously don't miss the lack of power but because it was my first bike it was special! SV is a great first big bike, I would highly recommend one.
Planing to get me one during/after the summer. Total cost for it per month will be around 90 to 100 euros per month for insurance and leasing it (brand new). Just need my summer job to work out for me!
how to know at what speed to gear down? and ho to gear up and down in hills going up and going downhill?? thanks for a good video! hope to hear back from you!
Not to be critical or rude but when you set off you should have your right foot up on the rear brake to be stable when riding off rather than on the gear side 😁
Yes I was able to use my own bike. It really helped as they taught me how to use the gears instead of me having to learn on my own. Goodluck, you'll enjoy it!
I’m searching for a bike with the AM6 engine, but the only one in a 200km radius is a Aprilia RS 50 from 2001. But he registered it like a motorcycle so he could ride faster, so it’s gonna be hard to make the papers and number plate to moped again. But I think I’m gonna do it
Hey good vid bro just a quick question is the left handle (the clutch) also used for braking or is it just the right used for breaking on manuals thanks :)
I mate, I'm looking at doing my cbt within the next few weeks and looking at a few different bikes. I've found an rs50 for £850 with over 15,000 miles on the clock. Would you say this is a good deal or not? Not sure how fair the engines will last for on a two stroke and fear it could be nearing its end? Thanks for the help mate, and also for an excellent video!
+Callum Bradley That's not too bad, my old Rs 50 had about 24,000 miles however it did have an engine rebuild during its life. Ask the seller a few questions about the engine and if you view it look out for certain signs of wear
+Ross RS think I might have to do that! Thanks a lot for the advice and getting back so quick mate. I've seriously been debating holding out untill I can get a 125 and getting something cheap as a run around until that point, as I've only a few months left.
Im thinking of buying an aprilia rs 50 and I wanted to ask you if it is convinient while riding because from what I have read this is the only disadvantage (also if you could tell me some things you dont like in rs 50 , it would have been really nice)

@Ross RS Ive bought one, first bike with gears, ur vids alot of help trying to learn to ride, but if I have to stop suddenly at 30 mph, I'd have to put it in first gear right? Also, I sometimes still mix up gears with neutral I guess not sure.
Great video! Have my cbt tomorrow morning on their scooters, didnt want to go on my rs4 50 first time and drop it or something. But im riding my bike around the estate for a bit before going on road as it definitely is a large bike haha
+Ross RS cbt went by incredibly well on their scooters. Got home and hopped on mine forgetting its 2x heavier or maybe even 3x and that i needed to learn gears. Practicing around my estate a car jumps out and i end up panic braking at 15mph and the bike falls on me :( only minor damage to the fairing and exhaust which isnt as damaged.) indicator also came off but i fixed that
+Jonathan Smith good to hear, well done on completing it! That sucks, luckily you weren't on a main road as that could of been a lot worse. As long as you're alright and know how to improve next time it's all that counts :D
Ross RS Just had another blast around my estate and got a little more confident on the throttle getting it to 22mph :) But I'm hoping I feel good about going on the road tomorrow!
thanks for this. answered some questions I had. seems more complex than it is I guess. how much of a leap would you say it is for me to go from 50cc moped to a geared bike? should I just get another day of training or just train myself?

I’ve got an RS50 but it’s been derestricted and everything by my dad and it’s the first geared bike I’ve rode in years and I’m just not confident with it at all, I spend more time focussing on changing gears than on traffic because if not then I’m just gonna blow it up
It’s a 2t you won’t blow it up, they love revving high mate, I’ve got a fully built RS 73cc and it loves to rev its balls off, just give it time to warm up
@@BuildsWithKyle since that comment I’ve gotten confident enough to change gears up and down without even realising but unfortunately the rs50 is just way too unreliable and I’m already having to get the engine rebuilt so it’s gonna have to go unfortunately 😔
@@BuildsWithKyle took it to a mechanic mate needs top end rebuild and he says I’d be coming back every 2 weeks for a new piston, I think the rs is built for 1 thing and that’s to look good 😂 gonna break my heart to have to swap it for a runner but I can’t be having it costing me so much every month and breaking down on way to work and college

+Kernow Crosser The shot at 0:48 was using the tripod balanced on my finger I thought that's the part you meant. I'd love a handheld gimbal but they're pretty expensive, I'll stick to my tripod method :)
On your CBT it is broken into 3 main parts; theory, bike control and road ride. When you are learning to control the bike you ride around a carpark and practice handling the bike. The instructors watch and give you advice and they are stood to the side. The road ride is when you're riding on the roads with the instructors following on their bikes behind you.
I turn 16 in may which is shit cause all my mates are getting bikes before me, I'm thinking of getting a geared bike similar to yours. How much am I looking at as I only have a certain amount to spend and I think that a geared bike would be best but am also thinking it is a lot more expensive 👊 thanks
I'm turning 16 in a few months I can't wait to do my CBT and get a bike! Do you have any tips on buying a bike not sure if I want to get a Derbi GPR 50cc or an RS4 50? Where to buy? How to buy? When to buy?
Try and make sure the bike has been well looked after as the last thing you want to be doing it taking it to a garage instead of riding it! I've got bikes off gumtree and ebay and my main piece of advice is to view before you buy. The GPR is 2 stroke whereas the RS4 is 4 stroke therefore the power is very different. You could get a decent Gpr/ RS50 for about £800 whereas I believe the RS4 is much more.
Now I am 16 and Norwegian, so like English is not 100% easy to understand when you don't know much frrom the start. But I have taken 1 easy driving class now, and I was kinda nervous because maybe next time I would have to gear up from 1 and above, now the gearing part helped me so much! Made it so much easier understanding. So this helped me a lot! Appreciate it so much :D! Getting an aprilla rs 125 actually, and I can already tell I am doing a good choice as well. But anyways I really appreciate the video so much. One question tho! What are your tips when it comes to learning to drive, and driving a motorcycle in general? Especially when you have to drive through cones slowly, before you take the final test on the road to fail or succeed.
Thank you for the kind comment! The RS is a great bike just be careful as they are pretty quick. When riding around cones you should always look ahead towards where you want to go. Do not look at the floor when turning. The best thing todo is to practice before you take the test, you can travel as wide as you like but make sure you do not put your leg down. Once you are on the road you will be fine!
iSh8Sn0w Det er også lurt å reflektere over egen kjøring etter oppkjøringa, eventuelt innrømme egne feil. Det er mye bedre å si hva som var feil med oppkjøringa selv, enn å høre det fra sensoren.
I sold it ages ago however I saw it on Gumtree last month. I believe it's not for sale atm. Just look around on ebay and Gumtree and you'll come across a good deal.
SightlessGaming you can tell youre in neutral if the bike is able to roll forwards and back with the clutch out, also going from 2nd down to first is only one click, from first to neutral is half a kick up, you will feel the difference between half a click and a full one when you start to ride
I am buying the 2003 rs50 soon and i am a little unsure on a couple of things; seeing as its two stroke how regularly would i need to add the two stroke fuel? And how do i know when to change gear? (when it reaches a certain rpm?...) i havent done my cbt yet so you can see why i dont know yet about the gears. Many thanks
Always make sure you keep topping up the 2 stroke oil otherwise you'll have issues if you run out. Normally you just fill the separate tank up with 2 stroke oil everytime you go through 2 tanks of petrol. However you'll have to check whether the bike is 'premix' or standard oil pump. To change gear you'll be able to feel it however I'd suggest changing around 6-7000 RPM, every bike is different though.
+Ross RS thanks for the info, will i be able to get the two stroke fuel at a petrol station or will i have to order it separately? Keep up the good videos and this video was very informational ;)
I know this is a noob question. But i dont understood everything (im not good at english). if i start, i need 1 down (1-n-2-...). if i want to up from 1 to 2, i need 2 up or only 1 up? I hope u will understood my question =/
so to put it in Neutral you have to pull in the clutch and just press down? Like say your in first and you want to go to neutral do you have to press down also?
so to go from second to first you press down, now your in first and then you press up? and from neutral you first press down to first and then up t second? wow this is really complicated!
Luka Yonny Yes it will be the same for any geared bike (such as the RS4). A normal moped is very easy to ride as it is automatic therefore, there is no clutch and gears to worry about.
Ross RS Thank you brother! So you just give the normal moped gas right? And how tall you need to be to be able to drive a RS4 50 and how about normal moped? Thanks in advance!
@@RossRS really. I will do an auto trader search. The DNA does not look flashy like the racing bikes. Is there any motorbikes shapes that look like a sports racing bike i.e Yamaha YZF shape thats twist & go.
Yeah I think you'll be fine. If you're that conserned you could get a supermoto 50cc such as a Derbi Senda as they would be more comfortable for a taller person
GG_Gamers_ Pc if you have a 2 stroke you have to pull in the clutch and Rev the bike slightly otherwise the pistons don’t get enough oil (Don’t Engine Brake) should sound better after that
im just watching these kinds of video's because im really exited because im going to buy a new aprillia rs4 :D:D

+Ross RS oh my bad haha, i thought that was one at 2:35 in your mirror
+Kernow Crosser The shot at 0:48 was using the tripod balanced on my finger I thought that's the part you meant. I'd love a handheld gimbal but they're pretty expensive, I'll stick to my tripod method :)
really cool vid bro
Hey mate what's your opinion getting the Aprilia rs50 for a first one
I have drives a semi-auto (off gas gear in)
So what you say?
I think the RS50 will be perfect to learn gears on
When i get 15 i want to buy moped, it says that it needs to be 50cc and maximum speed needs to be 45 km/h. What's your speed?
How fast do these go mate ?
All depends on what has been done to it. With an aftermarket exhaust and re-jet you can get 50mph out of them.
Hey I have bought my RS 50 2008 and I'm starting the hole process of getting my license could you help me out a little please?
They are great first bikes!
What can I help you with? :D
+Ross RS I just need advice on everything really like my CBT because I'm a bit nervous for it and I'm nervous with gear changes too.
Message me on Facebook (Ross RS) and I'll try and help
For a learner do u go around by your self or are u with someone else ? What do u recommend. ?
Harry Elms Just keep an eye out for one on eBay and Gumtree ect.... You could pick up a decent one for under 1k
I have to wait for August and all my mates are already 16 and all have peds so I understand you ahah
5:35 Is that part of the shifting process?🤔🤔
man that was helpfull. thank you for uploading this vid ;)
+Kostas Tsavalias I'm glad you liked it!
Ross RS the rs4 is not 4 stroke
the 50cc is I think
You might want to practise revmatching for when you move on to a 125cc because you are going to need to do it.
Okay thanks again ;)!
iSh8Sn0w Det er også lurt å reflektere over egen kjøring etter oppkjøringa, eventuelt innrømme egne feil. Det er mye bedre å si hva som var feil med oppkjøringa selv, enn å høre det fra sensoren.
I so happy that in guernsey you can ride 50cc st 14
On one of these 2 strokers engine breaking is a no-no right? And whe you brake you have to keep the cluch engaged right?
Yes that's correct
@@RossRS good to know... in case i want to get an rs50
Opinions on the RS50 2019 or 2018 which should I get and should I buy it new
Personally I would avoid buying new as the depreciation is much higher compared with an older bike.
Ross RS where is best to get it second hand
Hello mate just watched this and was wondering if you had the bike still or if you were looking to sell it ??
I sold it ages ago however I saw it on Gumtree last month. I believe it's not for sale atm. Just look around on ebay and Gumtree and you'll come across a good deal.
thank you will do pal!
How tall are you?
hey man love your videos i got a aprilla self :))
Awesome, they are great bikes
How do you know when you are in neutral... if you want to go from second to first do you have to press down twice to go to neutral then first??
SightlessGaming you can tell youre in neutral if the bike is able to roll forwards and back with the clutch out, also going from 2nd down to first is only one click, from first to neutral is half a kick up, you will feel the difference between half a click and a full one when you start to ride
What is the name for the Driver Licens for 50 ccm ? In german it calls "Mofa"
People normally just get a provisional license then do their CBT but the actually licence is AM (hardly any people do it)
Very helpful video 👌
Glad you found it useful
The clutch takes the drive from the gear box just thought I'd say
I’m 15 and 10 months just wondering is this a good beginners bike ? I can ride mopeds easily
Yes it is a good beginner bike. You will need to learn how to use the gears however, once you have practiced you will be fine.
+La Higgsy I get mine online but otherwise I would go to Halfords
+Ross RS okay cheers :P
No worries :)
you do a good job talking about a bike
Matt K Cheers
I have driving test tomorrow and if i pass i get my driving license tomorrow (50cc moped)
Goodluck!
how did it go?
@@persononinternet7868 Thanks for asking. I got it ;)
I'm 16 and just got my first job and would like to get a 50cc motorcycle would you be able to help me understand bikes a bit more
watch the video, not much more
Feel free to message me through Facebook if you have any questions
How much aprilia rs50 does it go stock bcs for my country 45 is max to get registrated
These are restricted by law, you can derestrict it and with the stock exhaust it will do 100, that is a lot for being the stock exhaust
I know this is a noob question. But i dont understood everything (im not good at english). if i start, i need 1 down (1-n-2-...). if i want to up from 1 to 2, i need 2 up or only 1 up? I hope u will understood my question =/
You only need to do 1 motion up however you have to move it up further
thx. now, how can i up/down to N?
it's about half a tap to get into N from either 1st or 2nd
so to put it in Neutral you have to pull in the clutch and just press down? Like say your in first and you want to go to neutral do you have to press down also?
Elias Van Loon It goes 1 - N - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 Therefore to get into Neutral from 1st you press the gear lever up.
so to go from second to first you press down, now your in first and then you press up? and from neutral you first press down to first and then up t second? wow this is really complicated!
i'm very interested in the Yamaha tzr
Yes that is correct, it is very easy todo once you are used to it!
The tzr is a good bike however, they are pretty rare.
tzr is not rare in Belgium you see them everywhere!
Do u drive the Aprilia RS4 50 50cc the same way?and how do u drive a normal moped?
Luka Yonny Yes it will be the same for any geared bike (such as the RS4). A normal moped is very easy to ride as it is automatic therefore, there is no clutch and gears to worry about.
Ross RS Thank you brother! So you just give the normal moped gas right? And how tall you need to be to be able to drive a RS4 50 and how about normal moped? Thanks in advance!
Is there any 50cc or 125 cc motorbike body but its just twist & go like moped. I hate gears and clutch on bikes
The Gilera DNA 50cc and 125cc both look like a normal motorbike but are twist and go
@@RossRS really. I will do an auto trader search. The DNA does not look flashy like the racing bikes. Is there any motorbikes shapes that look like a sports racing bike i.e Yamaha YZF shape thats twist & go.
What do i need to do to ride an aspirilia rs50 on the road legally at 16 ? Eg- CBT, mot, insurance...etc
depends on where you live but you probable need at least insurance and a license
Is this the same for most bikes like jsm 50? The bike I'm looking at for a first one.
Yes it will be
Do you think the Fantic caballero 50 is a good beginner bike?
I have never seen one so I cant say
late af but it is very good and if you empty your exhaust it'll go about 80 km/h
i passed my 50cc cbt on a moped will i be aloud to ride the 50cc sport bike?
Neonz Yes however legally it shouldn't do more than 30mph
hey ross i have a question
i am considering to buy an rs50 but i'm pretty tall you think it will fit me ?
Yeah I think you'll be fine. If you're that conserned you could get a supermoto 50cc such as a Derbi Senda as they would be more comfortable for a taller person
Can a 16 year old in the U.K. Buy a 50 cc geared bike? or is it only moped
Nathan Notley you can get either 50cc's when you're 16 and have completed your cbt
Ross RS thanks
Great video :D
Im having a hard time taking off going uphill.. Any tips?
Lukas Dekker Rev it higher (about 4k rpm) and slowly release the clutch and rev it more when it bites.
Aight, I will try! Will let you know if I succeed... (In about 2 weeks xd)
Lukas Dekker All about getting the biting point. Better to rev it higher than too low and stall on a hill.
funny thing. Stalled 4 times in a row and like 10 people started honking haha
Lukas Dekker lmao you on a geared 50cc?
Very well done
Thank you
Is the CBT at 16 done on a Geared bike or an Automatic ?
Usually on an automatic.
Ross RS oh ok thank you
if you do your cbt do u have to look up cos I faild mine just need some advice on passing it
What do you mean by look up?
lke do u look up while ridding
like
yes of course you do
Where could i buy one of these i can't find any. only ones above 50cc?
Where aboufs are you from, the UK?
+Ross RS yeah I'm in Scotland
+IT'S VIRAL look on gumtree and ebay
Bro so if im in the 3rd gear and want to go to the fist one, i just press down right?
Yes you press down 2 times
Can i add VPR on this bike?
I need help to lern how to downshift when i do it my bike breaks and makes an ugly nois
GG_Gamers_ Pc if you have a 2 stroke you have to pull in the clutch and Rev the bike slightly otherwise the pistons don’t get enough oil (Don’t Engine Brake) should sound better after that
