So many underrated funny moments like the one where Shahrukh is humming “dooby dooby doo samose mein aloo” while listening to some song on his walkman. 😂
The best thing about Baadshah for me is that it is full absurd and absolutely crazy with its humour but it never lets go of the believability of the plot. Like, I'm scared along with Baadshah when he's trying to tell the CM that she is going to be killed and her husband finds out. Directors like Farhad Samji are writing and making things with random absurd humour but they never land on the emotion, it is always about the joke and never about its place in the film. Baadshah got that ekdum right.
Badshaah - My rating 10/10 No 90's kid can rate this one lesser. The most watched movie of it's time, albeit on TV. It is a genre defining movie, per se.
This is the only movie that I feel abbaas really liked out of most movies you guys cover, he was like how Kumar Varun is , when talking about Yuva Wrote this mid-video , and then the "diva" gave a solid 7
I feel like Baadshah and even duplicate were some of Shahrukh Khan's first attempts at comedic roles (as far as I know). My theory is that he learned from these first experiences and then changed his comedic style to be less PG/childlike and more teen/adult oriented in the movies he made in the 2000s
It was neither Chief nor Home Minister it was Defence Minister.. Altleasy a Dozen Times the word Defence Minister/ Raskha Mantri was used throughout the 2nd Half ...
The reason it didn't work cause it was the second collaboration of abbas mastan and srk and people expected another baazigar type experience but when they watched this, they were cconfused.
A woman Chief Minister on target of killers which involves her own security guards is so meta from 1984. But for a change the Sikh bodyguard is the only one who's loyal to her and dies saving her life.
Baadshah was a fun experience, but even as a child when I watched it, I had wished that the story would have placed more emphasis on the detective agency, where they solve multiple cases, rather than taking a serious tone.
I watched Baadshah in theatres❤, had so much fun watching it. I still remember very few people were in the hall because at the time I assume people didn't knew about the action-comedy genre.
You missed another lift at 27:03 . The Badshah singing and escaping from the police sequence is a direct lift from "The Mask" (my name is Samba Pete song)
Another rip off that Abbas missed was from The Mask - the dance song with cops was taken from the mask dancing with cops, charming them enough to dance and have fun with him.
Abbas... I get it that you want to discuss the ethical aspects of copying or borrowing plot elements... but if possible, please do save those 'heavy' topics for the last segment? I love Baadshah (like I love most films discussed here)... I love both of you for being so much fun... but I want to first hear more about THE FILM itself. No offence meant, just a sincere fan making suggestions while rooting for this show to be much more popular. Cheers.
The inspiration and copied/remade part should be put out first and then of course we can talk of the additions the filmmaker and writer made. Atleast in such podcasts, the source material should get a nod. I appreciate abbas doing it every time.

TT yaha chocolate bechta hai ? Wafer bhi hoga nahi ??
Also there was where shahrukh sang main toh hoo pagal while crossing a dog and Sharat tries copying 😂😂😂😂
Im not the only one who loves it😅

💯💯💯
I watched this movie 4 times in a span of two days when I was 11 or 12....kisi na kisi channel pe ye movie deta hi rhta tha bachpan me 😂😂
Badshaah - My rating 10/10

Oooh that actually makes sense! Now that I think of it, SRK didn’t retain any of those childish/innocent gimmicks in the later part of his career
@@urjitawani. I wonder if he's ever talked about this in any interviews.

18:00 its the DEFENCE MINISTER 🤣
yeah! it was the easiest minister to link with rang de basanti, seeing as the 'faulty parts' are defence related (fighter jets)
Sharukhs best comedy performance ever .......after that he just never did this type of movie..........he was lit in ds movie
that Title song is LIT
You guys have inspired me to watch Baadshah - never watched it fully when it was on tv back then
Yasss! ❤
This is such an amazing series guys. You just can't get bored listening to you guys
We watched badshaah in theater and my favourite part was this newly married (assuming) couple screaming and fighting.
They must not have passed the akhrot test.
It was neither Chief nor Home Minister it was Defence Minister.. Altleasy a Dozen Times the word Defence Minister/ Raskha Mantri was used throughout the 2nd Half ...
I wonder how this girl gets to the podcast. Her interruptions are jarring, she often curbs the flow of conversation and asks questions like these.
She was Goa ki cm
Manikchand ka naam suna hai? Roz khaa ke thookte hain was the best line in this movie. 😂😂
It’s not copied, different scenes are inspired but it has such a great use of those.
Talking of Abbas Mustan, you folks need to do Aitraaz 🤣🤣 it's impossible to believe that movie released in the same year as Hum Tum, Yuva, Lakshya :D
All i can remember is hirny Priyanka and Song Gila Gila
The reason it didn't work cause it was the second collaboration of abbas mastan and srk and people expected another baazigar type experience but when they watched this, they were cconfused.
10/10 film
100 for the podcast. I was smiling throughout 😅
You guys should do an episode for "Phir bhi dil hai hindustani".... a movie much more relevant today

A good series could come out of it

Wo podcast jo sabse alag hai..
This was a fun episode!
Favorite Shahrukh Khan movie... ❤
it was the Defense Minister in Rang De Basanti. Played by Mohan Agashe.
Yes, my bad. Thank you for pointing out! :)
You missed another lift at 27:03 . The Badshah singing and escaping from the police sequence is a direct lift from "The Mask" (my name is Samba Pete song)
Very entertaining movie, despite watching so many times it’s always fun
Love this series so much! and because of this I watched Baadshah . Have you covered bade miyaan chhote miyaan?
The Main to hoon Paagal song was by Javed Akhtar, doston.. Sameer is not good enough to write such a whacky song :D
Sameer is very overrated..he never experimented much ....same old urdu words in lyrics
Deepak tijori was only in khiladi & Badshah of Abbas-Mustan
That Sushmita trivia is wrong. Abbas Mustan clarified in one interview
Defence minister and not CM
The scene in which the Defence minister is being bribed was censored.
❤❤
Bro I was shouting RDB at the screen when Urjita asked that question 😂
Another rip off that Abbas missed was from The Mask - the dance song with cops was taken from the mask dancing with cops, charming them enough to dance and have fun with him.
Urjita looks cutie. Don't know in real life how she looks.
Fun episode
Where is today's episode
That movie is Chup chup ke
Not chhup chhup ke
So we're supposed to call blind people visually challenged?
Dil bechara was an official remake of tfios…
It’s the defence minister
The beginning I thought a cat was crying
Do yes boss
Rang de Basanti

Fun fact: Nick of time was first remade in Telugu already in 1998 named “Pape na Pranam” , and then Baadshah came out in 1999.
Ye abbas ko french cinema hi pasand aayega

Copy of ‘NICK OF TIME’….
U were still the intention of ur parents 😅😂😂
Urjita is really so UNFUNNY… I cringe every time when she speaks
Gareebo ka Judwaa.. Salman did better than srk
Is it just me or is Dhruv's voice uncanny to Anmol's from @TriedRefusedProductions
One of the TOP HIAW episode...
