You have a very soft spoken voice but what I am rather more impressed is your Romanian accent and your passion for Romanian movie industry 😊 Congratulations for your courage to learn a new language that most people around the world wouldn't pay attention 👏 Greetings from Brighton UK ❤
Thank you for watching. I speak Romanian every day with my family and friends. It is not an easy language, but I persevere, because I want citizenship and qualify this year if my language skills are up to scratch.
There are good and powerful movies. Romanian cinematography is pretty good if you ask me :). Cristian Nemescu left some interesting movies for example "California Dreamin". You mentioned Cristian Puiu with "Cigarettes and coffee", but a very "painful" film was also "The death of Mister Lazarescu" . Currently I am searching for "Bless you, prison" a film with Maria Ploae. I don't know how i miss this film for ...23 years!!!
I think you would find Restul e tăcere (The Rest is Silence) interesting if you haven't seen it. It's a period piece about the early days of Romanian cinema, pre-WW1.
Did you ever check out "Nunta muta" ? Was an interesting movie, tragic comedy. If you ever have the time, i think you would like it. Also for a fun time, in case you did not see them already, check out the old movies staring Dem Radulescu, which are funny movies depicting how people were living in communism, and how people would accomodate to the lack of freedom of speech, mostly taking sarcastic jabs at each other and the system. Proably where todays romanian dark humor and sarcasm comes from.

Romania has a wealth of actors and directors.

Will look for it. I also really enjoyed Poarta alba, but didn't have time on this video to review it.
You have maybe seen more Romanians movies 🍿then me as a romanian 🤭😉👏✊.
I doubt that, but I love Romanian cinema and directors/actors. I am a huge fan of Mircea Bravo and his comic work.
@ have you seen also that Sebastian Stan a romanian actor won Golden Globes and he is nominated also at Oscar ?
@@MaximDL1410maybe Sebastian Stan?
@@livinginromania yaaa 🤭😄 Sebastian Stan correct 👍.
And he came in Romania because he must play in a Cristian Mungiu movie 😉.

I haven't seen either. I will look out for them. Thanks for the recommendation.
@@livinginromania You can even find them on youtube, like many other old romanian movies. Just look for the titles.
