Your video was very helpful. Thank you sir! At 9:10 in the video you showed a gap between the BD housing and body panel. There are two slots on the inside for the inner OEM tabs. Do not use these slots with your BDs. Just rest the tabs forward of the slots and tighten the two screws on the outside tab. The housing sucks right into the body panel like factory only waaay better! Thanks again for the how-to video.
I got a set of the max fog lights last summer. They have a perfect beam that doesn’t offend oncoming drivers and worked amazing for contrasting the ditches and making deer easy to see and were a gift from the lighting gods this winter in all the snow storms we had up here. I was so impressed with the quality I ordered the 30” single row for my new CBI covert bumper. Just got it installed last weekend but so far I’m impressed!
I have more lights coming from them soon. I’ve been really happy with the lights and I want to figure out if I can fit the new big ones on my bumper under the bull bar.
My CBI came with 4 pre drilled slots under the bull-bar as well, and now I feel obligated to fill them. I feel like my money would be better spent on ditch lites but those slots taunt me.
@@allenhoyt8016 Yeah as far as I can tell it hasnt been done yet. I'd have to get some and hope they fit the way I like. If I gotta blaze the trail and test it so others can do it easily then so be it.
Great vid! I was hoping when i saw the title that you got the ones with the built-in daytime running/backlit ones since I just picked those up. But that's OK.
Yeah they were a little bit more for those I believe. I have built an audience that’s a little more budget minded (not everyone) but I try to stick with the basics. I’ll be adding more lights in the future and if that’s something people want to see then maybe I can make note of that for the next lights coming.
Appreciate it! I think I may be upgrading my whole housing soon. About to have a video on it in the next month or so and I’ll make a decision then. If I don’t go with an aftermarket housing I’ll check those out for sure.
Lol I swore I had that quieter when I was editing lol. Must have made a volume change to all the audio in a row and accidentally increased that sound effect too.
I think my Diode Dynamics SS3’s were more than my Baja Designs. Both SAE, my DD are the top level Max Amber fogs. I have to get a wiring and mounting kit for my Tacoma since I bought the DD originally for a Crosstrek (never bought from friend)
I won overland engineers giveaway on IG I put the DD fog lights on my colorado. Fell in love and now I am selling my Baja ditch lights and ordering DD set.
hey, I saw you have LED high beams/brights. What bulbs did you use to get around the potential flickering that's caused by the 4Runner running the old halogen bulbs at half voltage?
Oxfoot, sorry for the year late comment, hopefully I can get a reply from you- I’m a new subscriber. Do the SS3 have backwards compatibility? Can the ditch lights be used as the fog lights by purchasing a separate Diode Dynamics bracket and vis versa?
I’m like 99% sure they are Cali raised brackets. There’s no branding on them and I got them a while back but I’m almost positive they are from Cali-raised.
I used the Cali-raised brackets I believe. It’s what ever R4T had (if you buy from them use code “oxfoot”, you get 10% off and I take no commission). They worked awesome and were low profile.
For some reason all these companies call the yellow “amber”. I prefer an amber/orange but no one seems to make them. It’s yellow that they make just like baja and morimoto.
Great vid! Will definitely try them out. What brand of LED are your headlights? I have xenon but I feel they're too dim and the beam pattern on high beams look off. Unless I installed them wrong.
What is the main reason for switching from Baja Designs to Diode Dynamics? Been wanting some baja designs but havent done enough research on both companies products or even Rigid Industries
They were essentially the same thing but at very different prices. So since I wanted to add more lights like my fog lights and now my cross link lights I got essentially the same thing but cheaper.
@@OXFOOT ok so just baja designs were paying more for the name in a way? Appreciate the feedback, also any specs on wheel and tires like tim size and offsets? Love the stance yours has
Oops! Uploaded this at 4am instead of pm! Thanks everyone that watched this morning anyways!

Swapping these out look way easier than I thought. Thanks for the video!
Especially easy if you have the cut away like mine, if not it’s just a few more plastic clips.
Always a pleasure watching your install videos!
Thanks so much!

For your low beams, give the Philips H9 bulb mod a try. I bet you'll like it more than the drop in led bulbs.

The damn Eagle kinda scared me (0:43) 😂. It was my fault, I had your video on blast.

Thanks for the review and install 👍
Thanks for watching even though I accidentally uploaded it at 4:45am
Great vid man. Love all my diodes! Looks like your headlights themselves might be aimed a bit low.
Could be. Just got new headlights a few weeks ago so I just got those aimed a few days ago. Actually have a video in that coming out soon.
I won overland engineers giveaway on IG I put the DD fog lights on my colorado. Fell in love and now I am selling my Baja ditch lights and ordering DD set.
Nice that’s awesome! I know Zach, he came here last year and we camped. Glad you won, I love my diodes!

Awesome vid My Man, can you give us a heads up on the bumper, viper wings, winch and light bar up front?! thanks Bortha!!
A walk around of it? I’ll have one very soon once I get my new tent put on. There were quite a few changes the last two months.
Aloha from Honolulu

Oh wow this video was supposed to go up in a few hours. Must have messed up the upload time lol.

Just being pedantic here... you used a bald eagle graphic, but played the call of a red-tailed hawk :p
Damn bro I got caught, lol
What mounting brackets do you have for the ditch lights? I like the low profile look!
I’m like 99% sure they are Cali raised brackets. There’s no branding on them and I got them a while back but I’m almost positive they are from Cali-raised.

Nice
I’ve got more diode stuff going on very soon. Love these lights.
Did you go with the Pro or Max?
I just went with the Max. I have some more lights coming so I’ll probably go with pros there.
Any discounts available through you?
Let me hit them up and see. They sent me a whole thing and maybe I missed one.
LLLLLEEEETTTTSSS GGGGGOOOOO!!!!
Much appreciated! 🙏🏻
sport, pro, or max?
I just went with the sport but I will be going with some other lights and maybe I’ll go pro with those.
Are these the sport, pro or max ?
These are the sports my bad. Just added the cross links to the top of my 4Runner as well.
Great vid! Will definitely try them out. What brand of LED are your headlights? I have xenon but I feel they're too dim and the beam pattern on high beams look off. Unless I installed them wrong.
The headlights are boslla. I actually have a video on them. They aren’t cheap but they have really cool functionality.
ua-cam.com/video/UA405mnB6WI/v-deo.html
I find it stupidly hilarious that UA-cam puts ads for EVs on videos about REAL cars
What was it for? If it was the new hummer I kinda like that one…but really anything else I get that. Lol.

Really the main reason
