You've got such a great arch in your back when paddling. I can't do that any more.
When you're scratching for a wave and you don't think you can get it (as at 4:22) I wonder if you can drop your head down (slightly more forward) and get your arms deeper into the paddle. That helps me catch more waves. I arch when I've got the wave and am in danger of nosediving.

That’s interesting. I’m a lot more comfortable nose riding on my backhand too. I wonder if it’s just because there is no good left hands breaks here and I don’t get any practice on my forehand?

@@LongboardSessions I’m in noosa so I reckon 95% of my surfing is on rights. Occasionally there’s some short left beachies to practice on. It’s just interesting I always assumed that forehand noseriding would naturally be much easier kinda like barrel riding.

There are 2 people in everybody's head, you and your subconscious. The other guy is you slave but he is easily confused by you interfering.
When you first get to the beach your both working with each other and this is the time to suggest to the other buy to try something different. But after a few waves just let him/her go do the stuff they know. You will bother have a much better time.

The laughing and joking together makes it pretty clear they're having fun. Maybe we try to see that others approaching hobbies differently than us isn't a bad thing.
