This is the fifth time i click myself to this video, I know that I have seen it before, but this is so cool. When this video gets suggested I always watch it! You did a great job!
You can trace a circle with something like a dry ballpoint pen, kinda like a scar (omg english is not my mohertongue so I can't really explain this... I hope you got it). this should stop the paint going outside your trace. You can do it with a smooth jar cap, maybe, so you would already have the circle and all you gotta do is press it into the sheet :)
This remains my favourite method of painting galaxies since learning it from you years ago :) I've changed my colour variations based on photos of nebulas and have come up with some really beautiful results.
I tried to do this and ended up having my first tantrum in abut eight years and threw my shit across the room. HOW DO YOU MAKE IT LOOK SO EASY. I'm usually pretty okay with watercolours but this was ridiculous. :( Could I have some tips please? D:
+Hecci666 Don't think that things will turn out perfect on your first try~ Before painting these 2 little things I practised a looooot of space themed stuff.
+tillith how do you get the white paint for the stars to flow so easily of the brush cause I'm sitting here for like 20 mins just trying to get the right consistency and it still isn't right. I don't want it to be fadded either
+Alyssa Arts you have to dilute the paint, usually by dipping the brush in paint and then in a bit of water, depending on how loose/opaque you want the paint to be
+Hecci666 if you are having trouble staying in the lines, i could always suggest a stencil. Fold paper in half, cut a circle, unfold, and tape it onto the paper you're working with. Hope that helps!?
I just bought my first set of paint and art paper in over a decade and I'm trying to find inspiration for things to practice with, and I stumbled upon this little video and wow... I'm impressed. This makes me want to try to make something like this in the near future, hehe!
Same! But all im missing from my set are watercolor papers/pad and more colors😂. But ive been practicing how to make colors bleed together like this because im actually more into bleeding colors than actually just draw something and paint it like normal coloring and not bleeding it through. My plan when i started doing things like this was to just bleed em in any shape or stuff. And put quotes i love with colored pens❤. Hope you find something you like with paints☺
Trying to paint again because I've been feeling really low and videos like this make me inspired to keep trying. Thus, helping me to take my mind of depression. Art is life, truly. ❤❤❤
It would be nice to think that it was to show people (tutorial) how to get this lovely effect- rather than just a video to show "Oh, look what I can do." but Either way, ty for the video.
I absolutely love this technique and I see it being used in so many works or art, eyes, faces, hair etc and it looks wonderful. I love the way you control the watercolour, I personally find watercolour so difficult but absolutely love the results it gives. You make the process look so easy. Thank you for a wonderful channel.
I usually don't need intructions on how to do it. Just by watching others paint, my eyes automatically capture every little trick they use. I hope you don't mind me using your art as references. You're very talented by the way.
Because of the way the paint flowed around or maybe they were liquid water colors not the pallet type any way, which ever it was very very wet and runny but did not leave the confines of the circle. Also characteristic of wet on wet.
Vio :D They are clearly talking about the amount of water you put on the paper and the watercolors, don’t act smart if you don’t know what your talking about.
+Diya Hossain No, that was me who deleted the comments. As long as I can, I will delete any hateful comments like this. Just breath in and breath out. A mistunderstanding is not worth it to get so angry at each other.
+ForeverYoung AJ What does that even mean? I can't find anything called "opera" by Windsor and Newton... Only one color called opera rose. We want to know if these are all one brand or a palette.
+Emily Opera rose is the color she's using by Winsor Newton and the blue color she's using is another different brand. She uses color from the tube not a pre-made palette. Hope this helps even if it's a month after your question!
OMG same I used to be so insecure but I have gotten better and can see the difference I am obviously not as good as tilith or others but I am in advanced art and in our school you can only get chosen so I guess my practice has payed off and I don't think you should be insecure always be happy with the amazing things that you can achieve!
+Miss. Cookii Don't. I stopped drawing and painting 5 years ago. Started again a few months ago, and it felt like I have been holding my breath and going colorblind through my life the last 5 years. Now it feels like I finally started to breathe and see again. And I am neither a pro artist nor the most talented or skilled one. There will always be someone out there who is (considered) better than you, and even if you are one of the best, there it comes to personal taste. Never stop doing what you want just because others seem to do it better.
I can't do this either... so I learnt typography myself! it's pretty easy! you should take a try. maybe go to any stationery shop and buy a brush tip pen. and watch those tutorial videos! you'll get the hang of it! :P
I tried something similar to tgis but I found a strange problem. My watercolour I used, dark blue, looked fine wet; but when it dried it looked like acrylic paint used without water. It's quite strange and I've never experienced it before. It blends perfectly and the brand I have used is very good quality. Could the problem be in the paint tube itself? Could it be that, that particular blue colour is faulty?
A. Mulla What is the brand? If you can, look up things about that specific tube and see what others think. If not, ask the brand by emailing customer support and seeing if you need certain aspects like paper weight.
Very clever, and very pretty. Gonna give this a try (love letting the water bleed everything together). I especially like how your layering end up giving shadows to the clouds. Just for experiment's sake, it maybe fun to try adding pinches of salt sprinkled over the paint while its still quite wet, as it can leave a very cool dappled affect :)
Paint the pink part with much water. Then color the empty white parts with dark blue ( again using water after all if you want to use the aquarelle properly you should use water ). Without cleaning your brush from the dark blue mix it with the pink ( not in the paper ). You got purple. ( be sure that the painting is still wet). Put a little purple between the pink and the blue to blend it. Clean your brush and use darker blue. Color little parts with the darker blue. The painting should be still wet. Add a little light blue ( with much water ) whereever you want and then clean your brush. Add water to make some of the places lighter. Leave the painting for a while. Come back to finish it after its not wet. Use only white aquarelle in other places to make these white thigs like clouds. Add darker pink in the pink part. Clean your brush and use only water on the dark blue part to make some of the places lighter. Leave it again. After ist not wet take some white acrilyc paing on your brush and make the stars. You can use toothbrush ;) Thats all i can help with. Sorry for my english >.
I'm kinda crazy at painting so for the only okay one was of a wolf that's unrealistic with a mountain in the background at night with splattered spots to look like stars and it's not all that great but that's all I can really do
I do like the wet in wet technique, you never quite know exactly how it will turn out, but that is certainly part of the fun. Thank you for sharing. :-)
+serena moon +tillith I would really appreciate an answer to this, I have tried three different huge pages over 20 tries of trying to do a galaxy background. I am finding this so beyond difficult. I am so new to water colours. Some say to wet the paper first and some say to not, I don't know how much water to use either when mixed with the water colour disks. I don't know if it's too pigmented or too wet, I have watched so many videos and my finished dried paint looks chalky and just awful. Not at all like anyone elses. I don't know what to do. I use this really cheapy artist lofts palette, is that why or am I just a total fail?
For people saying she needs to slow down and explain fail to realize this isn't a tutorial video. She's just simply showing you her painting process.
Ziamond Dorsey yes when will people realize that!
Taylor Grace
Ziamond Dorsey well it's helping me a lot so👍
Ziamond Dorsey they should adjust the playback speed!
Ziamond Dorsey yeah it's not to explain its to show u

+Julia H.B Thank you!
Me too!

The ripples after adding more water is so mandelbrotty! Love it.
What kind/brand of watercolor do you use (well, for this video)? They look very vibrant and beautiful!
Julie Nguyen she uses winsor and Newton cotman
Trying to paint again because I've been feeling really low and videos like this make me inspired to keep trying. Thus, helping me to take my mind of depression. Art is life, truly. ❤❤❤
Very beautiful. Voice over instructions would be great. Or even just written instructions, choice of paints used, paper, etc, etc...
Yup!
This wasn't a tutorial, so a voice-over wasn't necessary. c:

with enough practice, im sure i can make beautiful things too! love the video :)
This is seriously so beautiful! Your paintings are gorgeous and you can tell that you really take your time and are very detailed. I love it! ❤️
Do you think this would look good with different shades of orange?
I think so if you blend it with the pinks. x
YESSSS!!!!! (I tried it and it looked awesome)
+Vindigo Black Post in on ur youtube channel so I can get notified, (im subscribed.)
Yes, try orange and purple♡
UMMMMMMMMM YESS
This video made me cry, the music, the colors, everything's awesome
The second watercolour painting almost looked like an ultrasound scan, it was so cool
Sherlock Holmes I was digging through the comments just to see if someone thought the same thing
That blue. I have never felt this much affection to a colour before haha. But omg, it is so beautiful.
Do you teach online lessons? If so how much do they cost? I would LOVE to learn from a professional like you:)
+That Otaku Galaxy No, I don't ^^ I'm actually not a pro, I'm self taught and I still have more to learn than I could actually teach. But thank you!
+tillith awe, Well no problem. Thanks for your reply!
+tillith hola
nebulas are my favorite
The cure for my sleepless nights
I usually don't need intructions on how to do it. Just by watching others paint, my eyes automatically capture every little trick they use. I hope you don't mind me using your art as references. You're very talented by the way.
She used wet on dry, right...? With a lot of water in her brush?
Jessica Lee looked more like wet on wet
Because of the way the paint flowed around or maybe they were liquid water colors not the pallet type any way, which ever it was very very wet and runny but did not leave the confines of the circle. Also characteristic of wet on wet.
Its wet on dry I think just try
Vio :D They are clearly talking about the amount of water you put on the paper and the watercolors, don’t act smart if you don’t know what your talking about.
Vio :D you’re a moron.
Wow, beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing how you painted these ♥
Amaizin!
Can u tell what watercolor do you use?

This looks so awesome!!! I tried painting it but failed because the paper would rip. Can you tell what kind of sheet you used for this?
+samridhi jain Watercolor Postcard Paper^^
+samridhi jain i used cardboard, and really good.
Sketchbooks that have thick paper, but theres also watercolour paper
I immediately see how beautiful the coloring was whilre scrolling and just had to sub. This is beautiful!!

TILLITH lol
OH MY GOD LMAO
TILLITH SUPERNATURAL REFERENCE FOR THE FUCKING WIN. I LOVE YOU.
MY GOD IM SCREECHING
Oh my gosh! That was fun to watch and beautiful too!
well looking at my paintings now I think that is should just quit painting this freaking amazing. You're so talented!!
NOOOOOOO...don't ever quit because you think your don't look good, everyone started somewhere, and this artist began from stick figures too(probably)
Haniah Shaik o my god thank you that came very unexpected, i have always been very insecure about my drawings and paintings.
OMG same I used to be so insecure but I have gotten better and can see the difference I am obviously not as good as tilith or others but I am in advanced art and in our school you can only get chosen so I guess my practice has payed off and I don't think you should be insecure always be happy with the amazing things that you can achieve!
Haniah Shaik thank you so much for all of that. I won't right away stop being insecure but I'll try to be a bit more proud of my work.

Practice makes perfect!

+Belfiani Sabiya Iskandar exactly.. I think everyone has the potential to do their own kind of art lol
You are. You just don't know it yet.
Art's not a talent lel
you guys are completely right she is really good at painting and is just showing her amazingness if that's even a word
very very very very very very lovely 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍 😍

It could be the type of water you used, or the type of paper you used. Usually for me, if I don't use the right paper, this tends to happen.
Miki L
i use Boldmere paint. and thank you for the advice, I shall do my research.
Ellie Coolgirl
i thought the same. but the same brand of paint was used with the same water and paper yet there were no problems
A. Mulla You're welcome. ^^ I'm not familiar with that brand but if you can, try to look videos on it too.
What a magnificent result. I truly enjoyed your video.
Aren't those nebulas? Gorgeous anyways
Natalia Páli it says tiny nebula painting😑
It is pretty beautiful. Such amazing colours.😯
If you screw up a water colour drawing how to fix? Simple, make a nebula cause it already looks like a rainbow that just screwed itself up.
As my art teacher once said, "Great artists learn to make mistake in to a masterpiece." 😃
Very clever, and very pretty. Gonna give this a try (love letting the water bleed everything together). I especially like how your layering end up giving shadows to the clouds. What brand watercolor is that.
winsor and newton i think.
she je using the 45 half pan set from winsor and newton😊
+bitchy jermie professional or cotman?
+Ruzan Jamaleddin cotman I think.
+Lordt I think the pro because cotman isn't as pigmented as this
⭐️Your artwork is an inspiration ⭐️

It's nice and all but could you make one that explains each step and how to do each step because I can't do this without that
And aren't DIY's supposed to tell you how to do things not just show what a person does?
This Video is not a Tutorial or a DIY.

Leave it again. After ist not wet take some white acrilyc paing on your brush and make the stars. You can use toothbrush ;)
Thats all i can help with.
Sorry for my english >.
I did it without steps, because it's pretty basic. Dry paper, lots of water on your brush, and tubed watercolors.
I'm kinda crazy at painting so for the only okay one was of a wolf that's unrealistic with a mountain in the background at night with splattered spots to look like stars and it's not all that great but that's all I can really do
