And I'm not a psychologist or mind reader this is just my speculation. If it's who he's always been or started out as a persona that he ended up believing in himself is harder to say. But what I do think is safe to say is his arrogance most likely came from being able to get away with what he did for so long. As a young Muslim male, I was judged by a lot of my peers for not instantly buying his Islamic conversion. Even with his disregard for basic Islamic principles.
