DAIZZ"S TIP:-Some varieties produce plantlets, which are tiny plants that grow from the leaves. These plantlets put out their own roots and begin growing when the leaf has died. Plant propagation from leaves and flowers of a plant is called viviparous reproduction, and you can do it in your own pond as long as you have an appropriate variety. Varieties capable of viviparous reproduction include tina, colarado, N. lotus, N. micrantha, N. "August Koch," N. "Bagdad," N. "Bluebird," N. "Charles Thomas" and many others

5 days ago I had collected a lily pad from a local pond. The leaf was a fresh one and had no bud. I plucked the leaf along with a tiny bit of stalk like 1 inch. I had kept the leaf floating in my aquarium. Today , I was surprised to see the end of the stalk had grown some roots as well as little leaves!!! Never knew this was going to happen ! I am so excited to grow it into a full lily plant !

I am taking a 5inch depth pot with 20cm diameter for soil and I'll keep it in tub.
It's not possible to change water so can I add only fishes?

Sorry for my late reply... Somehow I did not see ur comment.. Sorry for that... It is better that u change the water after every 5-6 days if fishes are not added... N if fish are added in the water than change the water after every 24-25 days... Lotus will take 12-18 months for flowering

They normally flower during summer season April to may. .. Keep them in full to partial shade during that period n add npk or dap after every 25-30 days by keep it in a piece of clothe n putting that clothe in the soil

No keep molly or guppy fish varieties in tubs ...yes it is ok to keep tubs wjth fish on terrace ... keep the tub in partial shade during hotter days ..n keep them inside during winter months

You r giving to much food to the molly fishes.
Thr are 22 molly fish in that big tub ..we normally feed 4-5 granules per fish ...but sometimes some younger family members put much more than that ...😊

Will lily seed grow completely in water without soil? I want to put it in a aquarium
It will germinate in water but then it needs a certain kind of soil medium to grow. Eg, it may not grow just in the pebbles of an aquarium.
However, there are certain miniature water lily species that can do better in an aquarium. You can still get the effects of a larger water lily plant, but the leaves and flower are just smaller, a better match for an aquarium.
