#Best_quick_struts, #Detroit_quick_struts, #Monroe_quick_struts
The reason this is done in voice over is because the maker of this video is not from the US and is actually in China. That's why his list promotes all eBay/Amazon hot garbage brands and just puts Monroe first because everyone knows that name. Take this shit on down the road
Monroe are notorious for leaking even under normal driving conditions. You're better off with KYB's
I have been in the Automotive Industry for 25+ years and I will never say no to Monroe Struts, in fact Monroe supplies BMW with their factory installed Struts. Yes, there will be units that fail, but that is normal for any automotive parts across the board, no exceptions!
Scotty says to stick with KYB and ignore Monroe and the rest -- they don't last. And looks like from the comments here, he is on the money.
Thank you I didn't see the video where Scotty said that so your comment was very helpful.
Monroe are not even good when new. KYB Sshocks with MOOG coils on the front work great.
My dad is an old school Grease Monkey like Scotty and swears by Detroit / American Axle
kyb are gas shocks I don't find them as durable as oil .
I like Gabriel's.
I’m running my lifted xB2.5 with 3rd/th gen rav4 oredy quick front suspension. It rides pretty well. Had nearly a year. No issues at all. Handles better than my original suspension.
*So, after reading the comments, all of these are trash. Thanks!*
Scotty also avoids monroe!
kyb rules!
I keep hearing Monroe is good. I have installed these struts on dozens of vehicles. They start leaking before 20,000 miles 90% of the time. They say it exceeds OE quality...... it must be there quality control then. I don't care about a stupid warranty either. Going through the hassle of pulling the struts out again, exchanging them and putting them back in checking the alignment each time. No thanks. I've seen some OE struts go almost 200k before the where completely done. Mainly Toyota.
Whats a good strut for toyota?
@@edwardrodriguez8441 Well unfortunately Toyota does not make its own struts anymore last I heard they subcontract and use KYB struts which are Japanese made. If Toyota did make struts still for older cars I had luck getting the oe dealer parts on ebay for 50% for what the dealer was charging. Just call the dealer get parts # then shop on ebay. I can not really speak for 2018 and newer models my experience is limited past those year models. But if your replacing the front struts KYB quick strut is hard to beat I give them 3.5 out of 5 stars. When Toyota made struts there research, development and quality control was next to none. Gabriel makes ok shocks to if your just replacing the rears. Now if you have unlimited budget Bilstein makes some of the best shocks and struts hands down. Not sure if they make struts for every vehicle though. Hope this helps. Rock auto .com has good price on KYB and Gabriel struts usually FYI.
I used KYB shocks with MOOG Coil springs on my 2005 4RUNNER. This is far better than the Monroe Quick Strut that my mechanic pushed me into getting. I reused the mounting bracket but should probably have bought new mounts for about $60 total.
The Coil springs on the Monroe don't seem strong enough. The vehicle was bouncy almost from the beginning. I replaced them with just 40,000 miles.
Buy KYB QUICK STRUTS. Forget about Monroe.
Hi I am looking complete assemble for my 2011 Acura Mdx, which ones should I get with out braking my wallet, I am thinking in KYB, any suggestions please?
@@alfredocardenas506 If it is your baby and you plan on keeping it for a long time go with the oe struts from the dealer. Maybe get the part # and shop on ebay for them or a slightly used pair off a wrecked one that got hit in the back or something (not in the area of struts you are buying). The oe struts go 3x longer and perform superior. They are worth the money.
If you are trying to squeeze a couple more years out of the MDX. KYB would be a perfect choice. I have had them on my 2011 RAV4 V6 for 10000 miles now and I like them. They have had no leaks yet. I would of went with Bilstien or OE dealer strut assemblies, but the RAV4 has 230000 mile on it now. I couldn't justify spending that much of it at this point. The KYB struts did feel a little stiffer. Seemed to corner a bit better but had less comfort, taking bumps a bit harder. I'll probably go with Gabriel or sachs for the rear shocks. Sachs is German made seems to be quality stuff from my experience. Good luck on getting your Acura riding right. Blessings!
What is the best shock absorber for Ford Expedition 2014?
bilstein. just a recommendation
😂 the best shocks / struts are Bilstein and KYB. Both of which didn’t make this list…
Yet Detroit axle did lmao
I would add Koni to this list - not of complete sets but shocks
I just put Koni on my Toyota and they are really nice. I have always had Bilstein, but they are Out of Stock.
@@user-ho5vz5tg3r How are Konis holding up to the Bilsteins
@@simri7474 They are doing very well. I have them set on the softest setting.
They aren't rough at all, makes me wish that I had never tried the Quick Strut.
The brand should be the same across the board if you're going to recommend them, not one particular part number that doesn't fit all vehicles equally. Monroe Shocks don't last a year, they used to represent quality, but no more. Detroit Axle doesn't make a strut that fits my Toyota vehicle (I asked them directly) This video is not an accurate representation of each products materials.
Bilstein.... nuff said
My k.y.b. are awesome
No KYB ?
Exactly, I'd bet KYB is better than them all
Recently used monroe quick struts on my Honda civic, great product. Couldn't believe the difference in the ride and handling
What year civic ? I’m changing mine soon
@@tetrisplayer117 Me too, what year? I have an 02 Civic EX.
I am looking for struts assembly for my SUV, how are your Monroe shocks after these 2 years? are they still working good?
How did you review 2023 struts, when this video is 2 years old?
When it got to #2 I ended the vid seriously DA 2nd best yeah right ok.
I don’t trust DA . Monroe Kyb is better than DA.
@@declanosbourne62 how are Gabriel quickstruts? People with my car have had nothing but issues with the Monroe struts
DA parts good bruh got em on both whips no issues
stop after i heard monroe
The shocks are kyb shock
ECCPP struts are garbage. Replaced original front struts w/springs on my Camry. I always measure the height of the car at the wheel well before tackling a strut project. After installing ECCPP struts, car front was 1 1/4 lower and the ride was hard. A week later I decided to swap out the springs with originals from 14 year old struts. Upon disassembly, one of the new ECCPPs had no gas. Don't buy them!
@Louis Kaye If the wheel well is higher from the wheel than it used to be, that’s a sign the struts and shocks need to be replaced right? And sometimes one side is higher than the other, other times it’s even.
@@TheWatcherAlias I don't measure the wheel well to the wheel, I measure the height of the wheel well to the ground. If new strut replacements loaded with springs drop the car down 1 1/4 inch lower than 15 year old strut's/springs, the new assemblies are junk. If one side measures noticeably different from the other, then something is wrong also. I'd say if there's more than 1/4 inch difference, it's time for new springs or bushings. Struts/shocks generally do not assist in the height of the car.
Monroe is Crap Quality ive used 8 quick struts in my time 3 were Monroe & 2 out of the 3 Monroes i had to make warrenty claims 1 cluncked turned out there was a recall on that part number/ model another the top mount was positioned wrong from factory correct part # just made not to fit on upper mount.
@2:42
*Why would anyone need 5 struts?*
SPARE TIRE?
Genius
FCS for Japanese
this is garbage!...the only struts that have never failed my are KYB!
I'll stick with NAPA replacement parts.
Oh , they have Detroit in the name! That's the Motor City ! They must be good!
.............
I always by Detroit axle parts and have no issues on either one of my cars
I hear bad things about Monroe!
American automobiles have lost quality in comparison with Japanese bc most parts are manufactured in China.
Monroe are made in the USA by Americans. KYB are made in Mexico, nothing against Mexico but I will be giving my money to Americans
Wow....Trumper
I had kyb they were more expensive and I blew the gas right out of 1 in less than a year . I'll stick with oil shocks
I purchased those Detroit Axle struts and they are way too stiff, much more stiff than the factory struts. The ride quality is horrible.
Not for Japanese made
Since Monroe and GE products are made in China therefore these products have lost quality.
Heard ECCPP is awful
What is the point of this review ? Every model of Monroe quick struts is application specific, it is not like we can choose the best model you picked.
I am so sick these AI voice-over videos.
Robot voice... UGH.. GO FOR KYB, you won't be sorry!!!!!
KYB is the best struts to get. Talk to any mechanic. This video is such a absolute joke
Robo voice. at least try when making a video.
I heard quick struts are terrible
FCS is good
@@laurentcambon hey, I'm trying to decide on struts now. I'm looking at the FCS from rockauto. Have you used them? Tks
@@jasonking8671 Yes, very good. Suppreses unwanted noises and eliminates almost all steering shaking
This isn't a review. Monroe? They suck, cheap, and won't even last 10 years.
What is this AI bullshit?
Monroe struts are awful. Almost as bad as the auto attendant english in this video 🙄
No KYB?
Exactly...how detroit axle made the list and not KYB?🤔
Does kyb make quick struts?
@@farrellwatson1428 yes they do I just put some on a 2006 Toyota Camry
