Agreed. I was hesitant at first about the addition because I was such a fan of the existing trio and didn't want a new person to cut into anyone's air time. I was wrong though. Dusty has been such a great addition and I actually like the podcast better with the 4 hoarse-men.

He said the kamodo dragon is venomous. Its not. It has very deadly bacteria in its mouth and when they hunt they usually only have to bite its prey and wait until its completely immobile to go in for the kill. They're stalkers basically.

I have a friend who loves Nate as much a I do and when discussing this podcast (which she has not listened to yet) I found my self having to explain that she might not like it right away; but that you really have to stick with it to enjoy it. I was very confused when I started listening and now I feel like you guys are all friends that I haven't met yet.

As a teacher I think it should be required for high school kids to take a test like the citizenship test in order to graduate.

Big fan of the podcast! I live in the Louisville area. I was torn when I saw June 4th conflict between Bates in Louisville and Nate in Bowling Green. Flipped a coin and went with Nate. On Sunday we got ready for the 2 hour drive to SKyPAC. Then my car broke down. So we hopped on our bikes in the pouring rain. I-65 is not as bike-friendly as you would think. Authorities were called. Time wasn’t on our side. Ended up cutting our losses and went to Louisville Comedy Club. Bates…you killed it. Great show!
At the end of an already hilarious bit about hiking, I whispered to my friend a call back that could have been added to the end. He liked the idea. So much so he told YOU, the comedian, about adding the call-back when getting a picture with you. Question: How annoying is it when fans suggest things to you? Have you ever taken a fans advice that killed?

Oh I feel you Brian. My wife and I have two little kids and about a year ago decided to take a weekend vacation to Seattle, Washington all the way across the country. We had not had time just the two of us in many years and neither had ever been to the West Coast. We got to our local, small airport and they had a new rule about shuttling and by the time we made it to check in we had about an hour until flight. We tried using the kiosk which would go through all the steps but would error out at the end. This was a very early morning flight like yours and there was only one person at the counter. I waited in line and when I got to her she redirected me back to the kiosk. Same thing and it didn’t work again. Tried a different kiosk, same thing and didn’t work again. Finally went back to her and told her none were working. She finally said she would check us in. After several minutes of click-clacking at the keyboard she informed us it was now 43 minutes until our flight and you were not allowed to check in less than 45 minutes before flight. We had a back-and-forth about how we’ve been trying to check in for almost 20 minutes and that it was just now 43 minutes, it was 48 minutes when she started trying to check us in. She wouldn’t have it. She said our only option was to go on standby and wait for an available flight. We sat in the airport for 17 hours before being able to fly to Seattle. We spent one night in Seattle before flying back. At least we got to go to the market and watch them throw fish.

Layovers, baggage, fine print, and 18+ shows - The last 3 episodes have touched on several aspects of my family's last excursion to see Nate. Last Fall we booked a Spring Break trip to Portugal. Our trip included a 20 hour layover in London. 2 weeks later, Nate released his 2023 dates and was going to perform in London the same night as our layover. Without hesitation, we bought tickets. Fast forward to spring break & our British Airways flight was delayed an hour. By the time we boarded, the crew was frantically rushing around so we could take off. Our family had 4 carry-ons but by the time we got to our seats, there was no overhead space. Before we knew it, the plane started backing out of the gate. We found space for 2 suitcases but took off with the other 2 in our hands. I didn't even know that was legal. After our overnight flight we landed at Heathrow and ventured an hour into town to see Nate later that evening. As we waited in line, someone from the venue pulled us out and brought us to the front of the line. I had no idea what was going on - I honestly thought it was something cool until someone from the venue met us. They were SUPER polite, and let us know that the show was 18 and up. I apparently missed the fine print on the ticket and didn't even think that seeing Nate in an old church building was going to be 18 and up show. We had our 2 kids in tow and (for a moment considered ditching them both) but we were so tired from traveling. I wasn't going to give up on this once in a lifetime opportunity to see Nate in a foreign country. I very nicely (maybe depserately) responded with "We came from America". They asked us to wait and ten minutes later came back to let us in. We were so grateful! The show was so awesome my 9 year old slept through all of it. By the time the show was over we wanted nothing more than to eat some traditional fish and chips. We searched at all the pubs nearby but all of their kitchens had closed. In true Nateland fashion, we settled for the McDonalds around the corner. This was such a memorable experience and I just want to thank all of you for bringing clean laughter into the homes of all of us folks!

I want to share a magic McDonald's story with you. Yesterday, I was driving to Columbus to visit my Mum (who is 92 and been struggling lately). I was listening this show and remembered there was an amazing McDonald's restaurant off I-70 South to Columbus at the Ashland/Wooster exit. It is the only McDonald's I stop at because the people are so kind and even fun and the food is always fresh AND hot. Well I went in and it was full of kiosks and odd signs about ordering online - they were everywhere! I am a baby-boomer so not terribly enthused about the digital age. Anyway, I hear a woman's voice "you poor dear come over here." It was one of the employees who sensed my distress. She was great. Got my order, we talked about comedians and this podcast (she is a fan) and I enjoyed a piping hot burger, fries and a cool Coca Cola. Anyway, between your podcast and the good cheer of that McDonald's I felt a great deal better and went on to have a great visit with my Mum. Thanks for the fun and helping me stay an optimist!

It was awesome to know that even the pros have to try out their new stuff on a crowd to decide how to reshape or retell a joke.
That show in Dayton and meeting you was the most fun ive had in a very long time. I plan on hitting open mics in NY and Chicago before heading back to LA, maybe one day I can open for you. Your story and personality have been my #1 source of comedy inspiration.

So just to touch on the earthquake at LSU stadium, Nate and Aaron both said that nobody died…and while I’m quite sure nobody died from the earthquake, I’m not positive nobody died from alcohol poisoning. I have never in my life seen more people passed out than after that concert. There were people laying/passed out in flower beds, parking spots, on cars, in cars, in the grass, literally everywhere we looked there were bodies laid out. It was quite the scene. And as far as what would be more fun (that concert or a great game) seeing Garth play that song, in that place, with 100k + drunk Cajuns was bucket list!! I Only Wanna Be With You by Hootie and the Blowfish references a few Bob Dylan songs and the man himself. “Put on a little Dylan, sittin on a fence” is a reference to “bird on the horizon, sittin on a fence” from his song You’re a Big Girl Now. The “I shot a man named Gray and took his wife to Italy..” part of the song is a word for word verse from Bob Dylan’s song Idiot Wind. His management sued Hootie and the Blowfish for copyright infringement for that line. He refers to Dylan again, singing “Ain’t Bobby so cool”. And then twice at the end of the song they sing the line “Tangled up in blue”.
Darius Rucker’s biggest solo hit is also Wagon Wheel, which was co-written by Bob Dylan.

I wanted to give a shout out to two Nateland fans, my best friend Keaton who got me hooked on the podcast, and his beautiful bride Catherine. They are getting married on June 9th! We are looking forward to seeing Nate in Knoxville in December. Keep up the great entertainment!

I wonder though, if an airline raises the price of their ticket but it’s all-inclusive, how well are they going to do against competitors who just keep their a la carte model of charges? I have a feeling we are in this situation because people, in general, will tend to get the cheapest ticket regardless of what they might be losing.

Spirit and Frontier nickel and dime you. You won’t find business travelers using them. And business travelers make up a large portion of the airlines business. They book on time of departure, not cost.

You would clearly believe that the seismograph went crazy for both events. BY FAR, LSU beating Bama was the far more exciting experience. Bring the Nateland gang for a show in Tiger Stadium and we'll do it again! Let's Go Folks!

It’s not a third party booking issue. The major carriers have a lowest tier ticket that allows a backpack, or anything that will fit under the seat, only. They all have a time limit for checked bags as well. The computer system prevents them from checking it.
I do agree about one free checked bag. It’s ridiculous that it’s not included. I stopped worrying about it a long time ago. Any charges I incur are billed to the customer. Which drives up the price of the product that company sells. The end consumer is the one who pays the cost.
Brian needs to pick one airline carrier and stick w/ it. Once you have the lowest tier status you don’t have baggage fees for one bag. It always amazes me how little comedians know about the tricks of constant travel.
