Everyone! This was the Auxillary battery needing to be replaced. FCA dealers will tell you to replace both. Just replace the Aux battery. Firestone/Tires Plus/CFNA card holder locations have them in stock. $80 fix.
Thank you very much for this vid. I'm not much of a car guy and my girlfriend's compass was having the same problem and by reading this comment solved all the problems in 30 mins. Thank You good sir
@@mauricehaywood614 wow...just six days ago? I wonder if the cold weather had anything to do with it? same happened to me, on Christmas eve...: (. Were you able to jump-start yours? OR did it need to get towed to a place for the battery replacements?
@@StageInTheSkyCreations Nah didn't need to get it towed. Just looked up another video on where to find the auxiliary battery so I could replace it. Easy fix
Hey Everyone! I have a 2020 Compass trailhawk and ran into these EXACT symptoms a couple times, 100% it has to do with the auxiliary battery. However, before swapping, check the negative post on the auxiliary battery. I’ve notice after several months, the negative post to the Auxiliary battery has a tendency to loosen. Once loosen, I would get a number issues, service ECS system, service hill start assist, service dynamics torque system, etc. the Aux battery powers multiple functions so you would see multiple issues associated with it. Hope this helps!
You tightened it and everything back to normal? This would mean the dealership (Desert 215 Superstore, Las Vegas) I took it to lied to me. Dealers never lie. lol
I have ran into that little battery issue 3 times since having this car and without that battery nothing will work until you replace that battery put the jumper cables to the small battery and you should be able to start the car do not go to the dealer and let them tell you none sense save your money
Mine has done that click click to its only done it twice and yesterday and today my jeep also had that 4wd unavailable but after it said start/stop unavailable service start/stop system now I don't see oil leaking tho
Hey there! Sad to say, I had the same issue happen to me just last night...on Christmas Eve. With the dealerships and places being closed, I'm officially grounded because my 2021 Jeep Compass wouldn't start. When you called Roadside Assistance, were they able to jump-start it? Or did your jeep need to be towed?
Side note also man that if that battery goes out you can not jump start either.....I repeat you have to tow you can't even jump start. So keep track of when the battery lasts and start rolling with a new one when it gets to that time 🤣 I went through this also....that 2nd battery was like 350 and it was the size of a motorcycle battery
Hows the jeep holding up since replacing? I had this exact issue 3 weeks ago and the mechanic said it was the starter. $750 later for a "new" starter and my jeep is sitting dead in a parking garage
@@Squirr3lyFa5 there’s 2 batteries in my jeep A regular size one and one in front off it It’s the size of lawnmower battery, it powers your starter and radio and other dashboard stuff
@@Squirr3lyFa5 he's talking about the auxiliary battery which is pretty much the whole brain control of the car so when the battery dies the whole car malfunctions
Aux battery was fried. There's a battery under the hood the size of a powerwheel's battery that handles that start/stop. That was replaced and the vehicle worked fine. Codes still were there because I didn't replace main battery (didn't need it). Oil filter was just loose to be honest. So weird but that was my story.
