I have a black 2018 TH and in 2019 had to replace the front right lower control arm under recall. I've some minor electric issues such as USP Port stopped working and my Start/Stop also stooped working with (low battery notice). I have the cold package and quite frequently when used I'll have a dashboard warning that my ETC is disengaged. I have to stop the engine and restart manually to fix it. Not a huge issue, as is the Start/Stop not working as I always turned it off lol I found the lag to start was too slow for my usual driving (heavy on the accelerator) habits. My air conditioning stopped working twice so far for a brief time. I will be taking the Compass in for servicing on my next oil change next week (my 2nd one btw since purchase in June 2018. I put on about 13k per year for the first two years, less now). Mine doesn't burn oil - at all. I often wonder about how people may have broken in their new engine. I went on a 600+ km road trip the day I picked mine up new from the dealer and followed the recommended break in speed of 90 km/h until I hit 500km . It was a slow road trip but I was in no rush :) Oh, and my sun roof stopped working and I took it in for a quick fix. Other than the above it's been an awesome driving machine! I get a lot of compliments on its appearance. It rocks in the Canadian prairie harsh winter. It started at -37 c (remote start) when I forgot to plug it in (wasn't expecting it to drop that low over night). Traction in snow is amazing..I did use snow tires first two years but going to see how it goes with stock nubbies this year (as I'm driving less and primarily in city vs highway). The under powered engine has never truly been an issue for me. It jumps on a green light but the underwhelming speed occurs when trying to pass on the highway unless you can time it right, then the momentum keeps accelerating at a nice clip. I knew the engine was small to begin with prior to purchase so, as I said, not an issue. I wanted a smaller 4 banger vs the 6 I was driving before - and that was a 2014 Wrangler Sahara! Yup, I traded a wrangler in for a Compass! haha My wrangler was out of warranty after 4 years and stuff was starting to need repairing, I was tired of no room for anything (I had freedom package with little space to use tailgate), I missed the smooth ride Wrangler simply cannot do (altho loved my time with the Wrangler), and I missed the tech other vehicles..so I traded down ;)
Great choice in color!! I chose the same color! 2018.. The tech screen just magically started to show a weird bubble under the screen.... Im not happy! Better be covered under a warranty of some sort!! I hope nobody else gets a weird bubble!!
What ive read is in Europe they are specced for 5w20 and the United States theu are species at 0w20 for CAFE gas economy reasons. Im switching to 5w20 to see of there is any difference. Im hoping the slightly thicker oil will at least reduce the oil loss

I followed the correct engine break in, it didn't start having the oil issue until 35k miles

Thank you for the truth. Trying to decide on this, but seeing the down sides of cheaply made after brand is now created in Brazil for cheap.
I will say the only thing I’ve had actually be an issue so far is windshield and I have to replace a sway bar end link, but I have 56k miles on it.
I need something to replace my Liberty. I wonder how good of a value the base model Compass is. I'm sure I couldn't afford the trailhawk
I'm not sure on value but I know they are liek 18 to 20 starting out just make sure you get 4wd
