Thanks so much for this tip, Prue. Sometimes I need to get up quickly, or I get distracted watching the hockey game, lol, and lose my way. I had figured out about the topmost cords, but the "U" "V" method gives me a nice double-check.
I try to stop in the middle of a move so I know easily where I left off but sometimes I forget. I never really looked at the braid before. This is brilliant! It is simplistic than I imagined. Thank you!!!
Thanks, Pru, for this these extremely helpful hints. I don't know how many times I've been interrupted while working on my kumihimo disc and forgot to leave the 3 cord move on my disc. I have just taken a guess on what was my next move, and hoped for the best. Learning to understand what it looks like to determine what the next move should be, will help take my questionable guess work completely out of my kumihimo projects.
Thank you Pru! I used to get some very 'interesting' looking cords, before I realised that it was very important to know which cord was next! 😏 I know this will help me in the future!
Thank you for very helpfull videos. What if your disk has been moved, by someone else, and it has been turned around? U stopped with N up, but forgot and now u are holding it with S up! What difference does that make? And is there anyway to tell, that it is upside down?
You do not need to worry about which way up the disk is. The cord moves for this braid do not cross over each other so it does not matter which of the cords is moved first. This video explains a bit more, ua-cam.com/video/TOOmsVUT-GQ/v-deo.html

My pleasure 😊
Very useful tips. Thank you!
I hope that at least one of these 4 different ways of working out where you are when you put your disk down will work for you!
