I was sitting along the wall waiting to play piano for a friend who was to sing on air, and Romero came in, saw me, and came over to sit next to me, doing a little dance as he came. We talked for about 20 minutes before his call came to be interviewed. He was very normal and charming, not at all the "star," just a nice man. He didn't talk show business, as I remember. He was gay, he later said so in his book, but no one cared.
