Hey there all! This is a new Concepts video to follow up the one on Paint Lines. Color Theory is an obvious concept that a lot of miniature painters struggle with, because many of us don't come from a color or art background. I come from both, having both gone to college for art and worked as a paint line designer for Reaper Miniatures, PLUS I've taught this subject to mini-painters for about two decades...so here we go!
There will be several videos in this series, and I'll try to do one per month for the next several months. Next month we'll talk more about specific colors that go together well, and in the future we'll likely also cover stuff like color composition and color identity.
    Ready? Let's go!

Its amazing that there are so many seemingly little things that you can overlook that really help build a pleasing cohesion. I think I need to practice approaching my minis with more mindfulness and planning.

Of all the tips and tricks videos I've watched I don't believe anyone has ever talked about alternating values to separate sections. Such a simple concept but totally eye opening.
