Thanks so much I took the forks of and took them to a garage here in Switzerland were I live and they quoted me 500 francs to change the seals with your video I was able to do it myself thanks sooooo much cheers
Did this on my Honda Goldwing, great videos. This is always very frightening for new bikers and tends to be an MOT destroyer Thanks for helping us love these how to vlogs very professional indeed
Thanks for those videos; very interesting. Personally I would have used the engineers vice more, using soft jaws of course, and cleaned the dirt from the fork leg to prevent this contaminating the parts. Also I always run any bolts across my rotary wire brush and CopperSlip the threads. But these videos are FAR EASIER to follow than workshop manuals so thanks again.
Thanks David, hardest part was the removal of the 10 pieces of fairing. Seal kit with dust covers £12 1xltr fork oil £14 exhaust clamp £2 Job done under £30 garage cost with labour around £200 Hope it encourages others to have a go at own maintenance. RSMF
Hi tingbiker, I needed to do seals and fork oil change on a Deauville NT650 V2. I really enjoyed all of these vids, just finished doing one fork and doing the other tomorrow, should be much quicker this time. your videos were a great help, thanks for posting, nice of you. Just one thing if you don't mind me saying, at approximately 11:56 on vid 4, you place the seat washer below the stop cap, the seat washer should sit on the spring then on top of the seat washer goes the spacer tube, so no washer between spacer tube and top cap. The Haynes manual was OK (ish), but your videos explained it much better.
rorymax Hi glad the vids were of help. wish I had noticed what you pointed out on vid 4 at the time lol, I have since had the forks back off for respray about 2 month ago and put right. thanks for watching and RSM8
Rather than pour the oil back out of the fork. Before starting the job, take a trip to a major pet store to buy a medication syringe and to Halfords/B&Q/Wickes etc to buy some plastic tubing that fits over the top of the syringe nozzle, then use that to suck the excess fork oil back out again. I would also advise checking the sliders inside the forks for wear and renew if necessary while the forks are off the bike.
PART fOUR AT 11.05 MINS INTO THE VIDEO YOU PLACE THE WASHER ON TOP OF THE SPACER, - THIS WASHER IS THE SPRING SEAT AND SITS ON TOP OF THE SPRING, UNDER THE SPACER.- otherwise, good effort.
Videos are up 10 years and still invaluable. Just used them to replace the seals on my Deauville. Great job lad 👍

Excellent series TB
Thanks CB
THANK YOU!
Not the way I do fork seals but interesting if not a bit labour intensive for the novice?
