I really love this reaction! You're both thinking about it so much and your analyses are so accurate. I really really love this. I hope to see more from you
OMG! You guys... This tiny series from Mexico can teach a very important lesson to other showrunners! The way they handled it was very respectful & it shows the reality of what we go or went through at certain point in our lives. It gave the viewers another opportunity to understand & normalize a homosexual relationship. They treated them like any other couple in the show and that they really matter. Thank you both for this reaction video.❤❤ @jkat78
Great reaction. Glad that you recognize the writers attempt to push this subject into the mainstream in an attempt to educate and hopefully change minds and hearts.
Loved this reaction video!! People informed about everything Juliantina means for us in Mexico, and really understanding why this representation goes beyond other ships in general! Thanks for taking the time it deserves, i'll be here waiting for the rest.
Loved the reaction. It's nice to see how people react to this particular scene, and if they get it or not. And you two definitely got the juliantina magic. Saludos desde México!
This video is great in many layers. You watched the story and its build up, you gave a little information about where Mexico stands regarding lgbt's (which I as a Mexican have to say is mostly correct), and I really appreciate that you said this story is groundbreaking beyond Mexican tv. Just subscribed to your channel :)
I loved this, I can't wait for part 2! You should really send this to Macarena, she has a #JuliantinaChallenge going on right now, she wants us to send her our reactions. I'm sure she would love this one.
Really great reaction. I’m glad you watch the show and comment after coz this is all about it! Ps:Scarlet you have really nice accent. Like deep, beautiful tone😀
OMG thank you. Best description I have heard as to why this story is groundbreaking, not just in Mexico but globally. TV producers need to take note, but particularly American TV producers who produce a lot of LGBT content but don’t do it well!
you've done it again, spot on analysis and reaction for Jualiantina! Scalett can you plz react to Posie , penelope and josie from Legacies??that would mean the world to me, thank you!!!
Well, a non-Spanish speaking reaction that takes the build-up and the context into account and doesn't butcher the storyline by commenting on just the kissing scenes for a change. This goes for your other videos as well, Scarlett. Thank you for that :) I'm gonna comment a bit on Mexico, as you've brought the topic up. I'm not Mexican, I just go there frequently and it's surprised me 'cause it's hard to measure the level of tolerance or homophobia. For instance, here's a research that compares gay rights between Mexico and the USA and asserts they're actually stronger in Mexico: www.weforum.org/agenda/2018/04/religion-the-state-and-the-states-explain-why-mexico-has-stronger-lgbt-rights-than-the-us They say it's due to several factors, one of them being that Mexico is more religious, but the separation between religion and state is stronger. I'd also say that Mexico is Catholic, but while Catholics aren't as open to homosexuality (with the exception of Spain and Portugal), historically they never condemned it as strongly as Protestant countries (where it has been punished sometimes even with death penalty). In my experience, on the one hand, everybody I've known there (mostly young people) is open-minded, I learned homosexuality was decriminalized back in 1871 (like a century before many other countries), some of the most beloved Mexican celebs were openly gay/bi (Chavela Vargas, Frida Kahlo, Juan Gabriel)... On the other hand, there are very conservative states, there's still a lot of sexism, homophobia is very present in the language (specially in football matches) and you can see how this show has had to dodge a lot of restrictions and censorship - even in later scenes, where you see more of their kisses, they need to use some camera tricks (avoiding close-ups or making them really short). But what we can definitely conclude is that Juliantina was a big step in lesbian representation in Mexico and their relationship was treated with respect by the writers (which is usually far from being guaranteed on a show...). I stop the rant. Thanks for the reaction!
Res Publica No I loved reading this and learning more! It’s interesting - from what you say, it really just sounds like there’s a bunch of nonces that have hierarchical power preventing equality from feeling less stigmatised. (Of course many other factors are involved including media coverage/state laws) Thank you for teaching me!
@@scxrlett.h I agree, it certainly seems like it. Hopefully they won't hold lgbt equality back for too long. Thanks for reading! These were just my thoughts. Gotta listen to Mexican Juliantinas' word on this subject, they will give us the most accurate picture. Cheers!
I agree with you american shows needs pay attention in every details of real relationship from developing friendship into a special relationship so we us can relate weather your are lesbian or not
