Thank you! This hourglass tower has been put up at least 20-30 times at different events from NYLT and Woodbadge, to Webelos crossovers and Jamborees... put it on your bucket list to make one... it will be in use for years to come!
Larry, you are correct! This being my first pioneering project to present to the Troop, I up and forgot to include the fraps. The tower has since been up over 20 times... probably nearing 30 times or more. So many Scouts have cut their teeth on this!
Yes... this was my first big pioneering project and one of my first UA-cam videos... I simply forgot to do the fraps! LOL! I've never made that mistake again... thanks for the comment and the support.
It was expedience... since it is too tall for anyone to legally climb it according to the Guide to Safe Scouting, it didn't really matter just so long as they were held in place.

Please keep in mind that Japanese square lashings also have fraps... I left that part out in the video... I just forgot to frap it! :-D

I want to build an hourglass tower for my troop because we have a Camporee coming up, but I don' t no where to find wood poles(spars). please help
Farm store fencing poles... that is all they are. Or you can harvest your own poles if you know someone with someone with trees.
