It's not about the subs, my guy, I just legit love these games. Super thankful for the people who enjoy watching my videos and hanging in discord. If I make a couple bucks a month, awesome, helps cover the cost, but this was never a get rich and famous plan... If it were I'd be playing warzone and screaming more.
Couldn't agree more than this. Also really proud of seeing that Final Exam mission, already went and downloaded it and am reading up on the guides and manuals as I'm awaiting HOTAS arrival and am a DCS noob...trying to get the game to work on an xbox controller is....less than ideal....technically works, and I can practice startups but putting everything together is a totally different story haha. Keep up the great work!
Mate - awesome stuff. When you lost that 31 (around 8 minutes) try putting the radar into ACM/Vertical Scan mode -- he was right on your horizon/lift line, so there was a good chance that the VS would have caught him...
During the 2.nd flight you had your AIM-120s in Visual mode, press CAGE/UNCAGE to toggle between visual and BvR. To avoid getting shot down like you did during the second flight try utilizing your long range AMRAAMS by launching then crank, try not to let the russian fighters get close as they are able to launch heatseeking missiles form decent range without giving you a spike. I'd love to fly together with you sometime and maybe show som A2A tactics for BVR in the 18.
3:00 Jammers On - be mindful that turning on the jammer too early actually makes you easier to detect. I’d reccommend keeping it on standby until you get spiked by enemy SAM or MiGs.
I'm glad you qualified the departure runway -- so many folks just say "taking the active", and without good ATC in the game, it's not possible to know what "the active" runway is...
I know this was half a year ago, but try to turn after launching your fox 3 (crank), so that bandits are on your radar gimbal limits, this is done so if he fires at you, his missiles will both bleed more energy since they have to turn to adjust to your new vector, and also reduce the closure rate between you and the enemy aircraft, giving his missile a longer flight time = longer way = greater missile energy bleed = easier to kinematically defeat the incoming missile and also increase the distance between you and the enemy aircraft at the theoretical moment of impact (F-pole) as well as the distance between the 2 aircraft when the missile goes Active on HPRF / Husky (A-pole), tho not sure if HPRF is represented on DCS, and most importantly, active on MPRF / pitbull (M-Pole), AKA the distance where you can turn cold since the missile will guide itself to the target at that point, increasing your chances of successfully defending an incoming missile, so TLDR; cranking provides your own missiles a longer support time before you're forced to go cold, as well as increasing the range at which this happens (either defending or pre-defending) and thus both increases the chances of your missile to kill the target and your chances of dodging incoming missiles, growling sidewinder has some nice videos on the topic
Nice paint! What happened with those nolock fox 3's? I'm not that versed in how this works, where those the wrong types of missile, or did you fuck something up? Also why no warning on the incoming missile?
I accidentally dropped track by switching to visual mode rather than the single target track I had.... I think. Still waiting for someone more seasoned to help me out on that one... And it was an IR guided missile, a heat seeker. Plane can only sense radar guided so only defense is to keep a look out and get lucky! Thanks for watching. :)
@@ControlledPairsGaming Hmm I thought the advanced planes like the FA/18 had missile warning systems, even for IR seeking stuff. Neat. Thanks for the content, always top notch
A more helpful and less condescending way of saying this is "If you fly higher and faster your missiles will have better range, even allowing you to make loft shots at 60nm from 20k ft."
@@ControlledPairsGaming you can tho unless your an F-14 it's not advisable this was some good fighting the 120's ingame are always being tweaked and used to be ultra draggy

i guess it's kinda randomly asking but do anybody know of a good place to stream new tv shows online ?
@Saul Thomas Try flixzone. Just google for it :)
Pretty proud of this flying. Still a long way to go. Advice welcome!

@@samurai1-18 Wise! To be honest I've basically defaulted to helmet mounted acquisition as you may have noticed. I'll work vertical scan into my flow!

Excellent feedback thank you!
Afaik the jammer in the hornet is not yet functional. so for now its just a good habit to build :)
Great video, that was really entertaining. I really like how you say what you’re doing when you do it!
Really enjoyed hearing you talk through everything that you're doing or what's on your mind
Thanks man! Thought it would help people follow along. Thanks for watching.
Great to see you progress. The radio work sounds great, and it definitely helps make it enjoyable for me as a simpilot :)
Thanks man! Still taking baby steps. Appreciate you following along!
Very impressive flying, loving the videos!
Thanks, man! It's coming along slowly but surely.
When you’re ready to fly helicopters let me know!
Holy shit, how do you not have more views? The amount of effort you put into your content is amazing.

The active is usually the RW that the ai atc uses for departure and arrival tho it was still cool as frick

How do you move your cursor while taking off, i usually have to let go of the stick to use the mouse
Exactly ;)
