Another good reason to long rein out and about is that it’s good for their muscles. I long reining my 3yr old in the woods probably more than I do in the school because it gives her a good experience of being out on her own but the hills and undulations help her to build her muscle and a small amount of top line ready for being bought into ridden work. She’s lightly backed but being left now until the new year at least but long reining off the yard keeps her interest and is enjoyable for her hopefully.
British Eventing website is a great start, I’ve literally been reading and downloading al the information today (: but a video about how to start would be very interesting ☺️☺️
Dora such a good girl!! This was Super informative and well made, leaving in the moments where it didn't go quite right is a really helpful thing, it shows that even someone who's done it for ages still gets a bit messy sometimes. Thanks for this video Meg :D
Really really lovely work. Wish more people would learn to work their horses like this and not skip or overlook the importance and the value of this step, and neglect working on their skills in this area. Thank you from Australia
I loved seeing the still a bit funny but serious side of you but this was fun but educational I only thought that long reining etc was just for when you started backing your horse or teaching them to drive
Great Great video. I am going to be doing my first Long Reining session next week with an expert and really looking forward to it if not a little nervous but watching this video has helped me understand it abit more. Thank you and will definitely follow you from now on.
I couldn’t agree more with everything you said about using this great training tool... possibly the best way to work your horses from the ground🤷🏼♀️ At college we use long reining a lot when training the youngsters and it most definitely turns them out as bolder and braver horses in all types of scenarios as they don’t rely on the handler of other horses around them to stay calm and relaxed!
Great video! I have been enjoying doing this with my daughter’s pony and my new 4 year old horse. My 10 year old daughter has been getting good at it herself. I really like the ring placement on your surcingle. My rings are smaller and higher up. What brand is it? Probably not available in Canada...
Hey great video, I have recently got a 18 month ID and have started her groundwork education whilst young, and she is taken to it like a duck to water. My fiancé has always had horses and is very knowledgeable but I’m from a pig farming background so I’m still learning 🙈 and wish to learn for myself, as the mrs takes over lol Any dos or donts for my girl would be great, fun exercises for you a mature headed youngster Thank you ☺️
Jess Sharp heyyyyy i’m 12 turning 13 in november and i’m wanting to train horses as well i got a weanling up in may so she’s about 9 months now she will begin her sorta starting time in the summer of 2021
I have a driving pony & need to school when I don’t have a groom. Can I lunge in my driving pony in its driving bridle. We regularly long line out but not in a circle

I love how you long rein! Just a question do you break your horses in a arena? because I don’t have a round yard yet so I might have to use an arena.
i believe she does she has plenty of videos of practically start to finish of horses she’s broken in i don’t believe she has a round yard good luck!!
Thank you it’s my first time breaking in a 12.1hh pony and I’m 13!

Good morning viewers 👈🏾
I won't even say that this is a metaphor for life!
In a world where compassion is lacking................ 🆙️
thiiiiiiis might be a suuper weird question lol buuut are you a sun sign Leo?
Hi
Love you
I’m leaving a sneaky comment...
Is it a free app?
Digital Horse is free for all riders yes :)
Don’t have your hands in the loop I don’t recommend, if the horse where to “bolt” or “run” your hands can get caught and your dragged behind.
She knows that but she’s know what all the horses she own/looks after are like yes you probably should do that but she can do it if she wants
Tia Allnutt yes she knows it, but she’s teaching people to do it, witch they shouldn’t because the Most trained horses can still bolt.
Star stable Liv chill she’s a professional people make mistakes you learn from them
#poetryinmotion :D
hiiiiiiiiiiooiioiiiii I love you
Can I ask you how so I get my horse to move to go thang you Nannette
Sent you a connection request :)

omg 15 seconds ago
Isn't that lunging
No lunging is where your in the middle and you do a circle and you not behind your horse
@@tiaallnutt384 Oh ok
