For anyone who may not be familiar, hooning is defined as “showing off in a dangerous or reckless manner” according to urban dictionary. Not sure if it’s just an Australian term or if I’m that’s unfamiliar with the car scene (yes I had to look this up)
3:15, you may joke about it, but THEY ARE targeting, and they ARE revenue raising. Hell in NSW a BANK owns the rights to speed camera revenue. You commonly hear "this year in australia we will raise X amount of revenue through camera's". Not 'we expect to save x amounts of lives." In the dande hills there was and still is cops hiding in cammo in the bushes. In australia "Unless you are under arrest, police have no right to intercept". Victoria were the BIGGEST revenue raisers. Victorian police used to PAY officers to trawl through forums (mccr, ozcruize, toymods) etc and record mods and details and TARGET those cars. There was a MASSIVE defect day on mccr cars where the owners were summonsed to an epa station, where they went over cars. presenting printouts of mods. I got told by a ethics officer "I will find a defect on a brand new car, and if i can't, i'll break stuff, and then defect the car". MCCR used to Inform police of meetspots and the cruise route and inform police of idiot drivers and they STILL SHOWED UP TO HASSLE AND DEFECT. Hooning will ALWAYS be a thing.
If you are being dangerous and can impact someone else with your 'Hooning' then rethink the location you are doing this stuff. You can't complain if you do something illegal and you actually got caught....... Revenue raising or not, you do the crime you have to take your medicine
I agree. I think its a case of if you were lucky enough to have mature minded friends who didn't condone acting like a hoon. I was lucky enough to have those .azure minded friends. But financially the cost of breaking stuff becomes too much. Still wanna race down a quarter mile track with you in my beep beep barina. On a proper surface ofcourse. Cos I sometimes struggle to get traction even with my after market heavy duty cvs 🤣
Thanks for recording this VOD...
Have a pint on me Kyle...

Depends on who's saying it in australia. In the media, hooning could be 2 or 3 mates driving cars together sociably, obeying ALL ROAD RULES.
Thanks for that! sorry I should have explained a bit better in the video!
