Not going into more detail about Bacara and Neyo was the Clone Wars biggest missed opportunity. They contradict the brotherhood mentality of the clones and would have been a great episode to see both Neyo and Bacara eating alone away from their brothers

Would have been cool to see a group of Clones so different from the men of either the 501st, the 212th, or the 104th, who didn't like their Jedi or had too much free will and thought, the conversations the two different groups could have would have been interesting to see.

Bacara was the Clone equivalent of Sgt. Hartman from Full Metal Jacket. Extremely strict, harsh, ruthless, and uncompromising.
Neyo on the other hand was like Vicious from Cowboy Bebop. He was an amoral psychopath who viewed his brothers as tools.
It was a total missed opportunity to see them and how they treat their troops.

Rex values and beliefes seem to match surprisingly well with those of Mace Windu: "Jedi do not fight for peace. That's only a slogan, and is as misleading as slogans always are. Jedi fight for civilization, because only civilization creates peace. We fight for justice because justice is the fundamental bedrock of civilization: an unjust civilization is built upon sand. It does not long survive a storm." Quote from the excellent RotS novelization xD both Rex and Windu champion justice and civilization out of a genuine belief of it being the best for the citizens of the republic and the galaxy.

Commander Neyo: Why would give a frack about any of that when I have a job to do? Besides do you want to let the Separatists to win the war? That's the soft-hearted Jedi logic that got a lot of our boys killed during the First Battle of Geonosis. They should stick to being peacekeepers instead of playing generals. Wasn't it a Jedi that got a lot of your guys killed on Umbara?
Captain Rex: First, Pong Krell was the exception not the rule. Second, not all the Jedi are total washouts when it comes to being leaders.

I think part of the reason why Rex's motives, philosophy, and general growth came from Anakin's passion. The Jedi saw passion as a source of evil and corruption as seen in their code; however, like many other things, there are always 2 sides of the story. Anakin's passion and dedication to saving lives and doing the right thing (along with a "little" bit of being unorthodox) shaped Rex's point of view, combined with his own discipline as a soldier. Other Jedi and commanders were rigid and had a "by-the-book" philosophy so they just progressed to soldiers and generals, save Quilan Vos who was more like a maverick

If Geetsly doesn’t see this or is already making Part 3, then I atleast hope I can predict the future.
For Part 3, the clones that would be awesome to see would be:
Commander Bly: A clone who cared deeply for his Jedi General and had one of the strongest relationships among Jedi and Clone. He was compassionate but fiercely loyal to the Republic. But even with his chip active, he showed mercy to Aayla, wanting her death to be quick and painless.
Commander Keller: Keller is among on of the coolest and most interesting clones out there. Keller was basically Bacara’s second in command and took his job seriously. His 7th Arctic Legion was efficient and dangerous, and they would glass a planet if they had to. Keller was willing to put an entire town under marshal law to find a Jedi. He would stop at nothing to complete his mission.
Commander Fox: Fox was, obviously, fiercely loyal to the Republic and the Chancellor. He would not question an order and was extremely by the book when it came to procedures. While he is hated for it, he was a model clone commander. He was an excellent coordinator and commander, and did whatever it took to carry out the orders of the Chancellor, which, is the reason he is hated, but is also what most (if not all clones) would drop everything to serve the Chancellor.

We need some kind of mini series (like 7-10 episodes), in each episode of which we will observe one clone-commander personality, behaviour, fighting skills, etc. We would see how different each of them. For example, series could show us how Wolf took a bit of Jedi philosophy under Plo Koon’s command; how Gree had genuine interest in other species’ culture and his effort to broaden his horizons of knowledge; how Fox was ruthless in executing orders and his behaviour to prisoners; show us Neo’s “cold-bastard-genius” personality and action in fight. Rex would be excluded because we already saw much of him, instead we need Cody.

Great video, I really enjoyed it. One thing I would like to say is, that Rex's morality is fairly warped if you think too hard about it. Although what you said is true, the 501st was committing some quite dishonourable, and at points out right cruel war crimes. Yes, the Jedi's use of war crimes is a bit of a meme now, but Rex kills an unarmed Kerkoidian commander during the Battle of Christophsis, most likely in cold blood, as Whorm Loathsom had been captured by Kenobi already. Also, Torrent Company kills a lot of the unarmed droid crew during missions, including surrendering ones, which leads me to believe that Rex doesn't really consider droids as near sentient at all.

      Well they aren’t sentient
      It’s a droid
If it actually had a choice it wouldn’t surrender if given a weapon
As they aren’t programmed to fight hand to hand
And also there is no point in taking them prisoner as they know nothing and will reveal nothing If they do know something
And it is a detriment to ignore the unarmed ones as they will most likely pick up a weapon and start blasting

But the real inhibitor is who programmed them
You see any B1s have restraining bolts?
If they were sentient then they would take to their self preservation more seriously
And general grievous would be already dead

I think The Clone Wars really missed an opportunity to explore both Faie and Neyo. Just imagine an episode where Rex comes to blows with Faie over the morality of following orders.

I would love to hear more about Clone Commanders that were like Rex and more independent, like Wolffee. Or a Commander who should have gotten more screen time, like Doom. Or just another dick Commander so we can explain why they suck, like Fox or Vill.

    • @FalconWindblader
      @FalconWindblader 2 роки тому +3

@@Gojo1911 Oh Fox's a dick alright. he's the kinda guy who's your friend until his superiors say otherwise, & he'd sooner shoot you if that's his orders than to even bother thinking about asking his superiors questions. he's basically Bacara, but just much friendlier & far less severe... come to think of it, that makes him something like Cody, just minus the psychological trauma accumulating in later years leading up to depression.
