- కరవులు, వర్షాభావాల మధ్య రైతులని ఆదుకుంటోంది బోరు బావులే. కరవు సీమల్లో మూడొంతుల పొలాలకి బోర్లే ఆధారంగా మారాయి. భూగర్భ జలాల దన్నుతోనే రైతులు కాస్తో కూస్తో పంటలు పండించగలుగుతున్నారు. అయితే కనీస వర్షాలు కనుమరుగై... భూగర్భ జలాల తోడివేత అధికమై... బోర్లు వట్టిపోతున్నాయి. పర్యవసానంగా పొలాలు బీళ్లుగా మారి రైతులు వలసలు వెళ్లిపోతున్నారు. ఇలాంటి పరిస్థితుల నుంచి రైతులు గట్టెక్కాలంటే... వాన నీటిని నిల్వ చేయాలనేది నిపుణుల హితోపదేశం. నేలపై పడే ప్రతి నీటి బొట్టుని భూగర్భంలోకి ఇంకించాలని సూచిస్తున్నారు. ఇలా వర్షం నీటిని శాస్త్రీయంగా భూమిలోకి ఇంకించి...పైకి తోడుకోవడంలో...మేటి విధానమే భుంగ్రూ. భూమి అడుగు పొరల్లో ఎండు పొరలు ఎక్కడున్నాయి? ఎక్కడ బోరు వస్తే ఫలితం ఉంటుంది? అన్న వివరాలు... సాంకేతికంగా తెలిపే భుంగ్రూ పద్ధతి విస్తరిస్తోంది. బిప్లాబ్‌ కేతన్‌ పాల్‌ పరిచయం చేసిన... భుంగ్రూ ఏవిధంగా పనిచేస్తుంది? ఎంత ఖర్చవుతుందో... వారి ప్రతినిధి రామ్‌కుమార్‌ ద్వారా తెలుసుకుందాం పదండి.

Harnessing rain water for recharging borewells is a good concept. Agriculturists should conserve water in a big way. As far as possible, they should adopt scientific methods as described in this video to preserve and retain water underground and not allow rain water to go waste, so that availablity of water for drinking and other purposes is ensured throughout the year. But, people should also understand that growing big trees alongside borders of their farm land and growing mini forest in small patches of land wherever possible is equally important to preserve the eco system. Mindless cutting of trees for agricultural purposes and road widening, etc. has led to poor rainfall in many regions. Instead of just developing plantations like rubber, tea, coffee, areca or of any other plants, plantations with a sensible mix of various varieties of plants in man made forests should be developed to ensure sufficient rainfall and preserve the eco system. This is the need of the hour. Governments should give a serious thought about preservation of eco system and act swiftly to prevent further deterioration of our existing resources. NGOs and other activists as also government agencies should work towards this end.
