      TheSgtk9 haha I actually forgot to go back and check. Must not be too important I’ve used it without it for a while now. I’ll have to check into it

      FYI, WARN told me the wire is not used on the VR 10s. Thx

    Great job buddy! As always love the comedy and non-script feel of the vid. Makes it more fun to watch and holds interest through the whole vid

    Those "child proof" containers get me all the time! Glad to see that no Bearded Jeepers were hurt in the process of making this video. The remote is a cool product!

      MakeYourOwnAdventure yeah it’s such a sharp plastic. This remote will come in handy for sure! Thanks for watching

    Excellent review of the best winch out there-Warn. I'm using my Warn Winch next weekend to haul off chopped wood. That involves chainsaws, pine trees, and the Warn Winch. It sounds to me like that will be the perfect opportunity to try out the remote.

      Thank you! Yeah warn makes amazing stuff! I’ve used my winch line several times to help cut down trees so they fall the right way. Thanks again for watching

    I love my wireless remotes! I have them for my trucks, RUVs, ATVs, and trailers.
    Small enough to drive with while winching.
    There is a video on UA-cam, from Germany IIRC, where a guy has an app to ruin his WARN winch. Other major manufactures have apps, too.
    Nice video. Thanks for sharing 🏆🌟😊

      Dr. Mark in Texas that’s neat! Would be cool to find an app for a backup

    What size of batteries does the remote use?

    Mine doesn’t feed out when pushing the out button. Any ideas why?

      Not sure maybe a manufacturer defect. I would contact warn directly they should be able to make it work or replace it

    the one question I got is can you leave the receiver plugged in for a day and still use it or do you have to reset the unit each time to use it. I want to hook it to the winch in a car trailer but you don't have access to the winch easy after car is in place

    • @TheBeardedJeeper
      @TheBeardedJeeper  4 роки тому

      Kevin Roberts I’m not 💯 sure on that. I think you would have to pair the remote to the winch again after letting it sit that long. I have never had it on that long.

    I need one of these for my m8000. Trying to use my land anchor is impossible without a 2nd person.

    • @TheBeardedJeeper
      @TheBeardedJeeper  5 років тому +1

      Aired down and disconnected it really does come in handy. Also you don’t have to worry about fishing the cord all the way to your window or worry about it becoming disconnected

    Tractor supply sells a wireless remote for like 30bucks that works great. I permanently wired it to a older warn 8000.

      NotMy Field nice that sounds like a good deal. Does it work for any winch?

    Do you find that you have to re-pair after turning off your key?

    • @TheBeardedJeeper
      @TheBeardedJeeper  4 роки тому

      Dr. Mark in Texas sometimes it will stay for a little bit other times not. I think it stays paired for a certain length of time

    Cool upgrade good video I hate to say it but I would guess the instructions tell you what the wire is for ha ha. Wonder if I can get something like that for my Smittybilt 🤔

    • @TheBeardedJeeper
      @TheBeardedJeeper  6 років тому +1

      AZ WESTSIDE WHEELERS yeah I was looking through the instructions trying to find out what it was for. I believe smittybilt has a wireless setup too I remember a friend having one.

      The Bearded Jeeper have to check it out. So far I’ve never had to use it the lockers are doing their job pretty well.

    • @TheBeardedJeeper
      @TheBeardedJeeper  6 років тому +1

      AZ WESTSIDE WHEELERS lockers are handy I have the Aussie locker in the rear now I need a selectable locker in the front. Or I would love to score a set of rubicon axles because I need to regear too

      The Bearded Jeeper right on. yeah lockers are a must with the sand and rock combo here in Arizona. At least 1.

    I’m sure this is mentioned in the instructions but do you have to take the wireless receiver out of the solenoid when not in use and plug it back in when using? I have the vr-12 winch and am on the fence on pulling the trigger on this

    • @TheBeardedJeeper
      @TheBeardedJeeper  5 років тому

      Joe Giago I’m not sure it says but I would definitely pull it out. I would be afraid it would fall out and I would loose it in a puddle or something it only takes a second to throw it on and you don’t have to worry about running your remote wires into the cab.

    • @WakinyanHota

    a wireless fob is cool, but at $175msrp (think its currently $125@amazon) its a bit steep. The biggest issue is the plug-in socket. My corded remote just failed because the female pins in the socket streched out or pushed back (not sure which yet) If the wireless reciever were hardwired it would be a valid fix... Really wish they never went away from the locking 3-wire plugs (and yes I understand their reasoning for it, and this wireless fob negates the safety reason for the 5pin non-locking socket)
    But good vid and thankyou for showing whats in the packaging! looks like I'll go to a dash-mount switch

    • @TheBeardedJeeper
      @TheBeardedJeeper  4 роки тому

      f1y7rap thanks for watching. Yeah it’s pretty pricey for sure. I like how some of their higher end winches come with it all integrated into the winch. Wish they would do that for all of them.

    If you READ the directions it clearly states its a ground that needs to be installed from one of the pin ports to the ground post. WTF is up with the gay mustache tat????? All was going well till I saw that damm thing.

    • @TheBeardedJeeper
      @TheBeardedJeeper  5 років тому

      Nika Tasha I kept trying to find it in the directions but didn’t see it. Thank you. The mustache tat was just a spur of the moment fun tattoo. A lot of people think it’s funny and I can hold it up to my face as a disguise haha.

      @@TheBeardedJeeper mine came with multiple pages / books but I accidently returned it with a warrantied winch. That said, according to Warn today, it's not required on newer winches above 4K. As to the tat, mustache "anything" is a personal pet peeve WTF. If I was a friend I would have punched you in the throat just for mentioning it. Now, you'll just need to cut that finger off, lol. Thanks for the Vid.

    • @TheBeardedJeeper
      @TheBeardedJeeper  5 років тому

      yeah I think mine only had one book. I have used it multiple times without the extra part and works fine. haha My wife loves mustache's lol I am glad you were not around when I got it done then. I appreciate you watching even though you don't like the tattoo. Next time I will have to blur it out for you.
