For the WKRP episode about the turkey drop it was the station general manager (Arthur Carlson) that uttered the phrase "As god is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly". Les Nessman used "Oh the humanity" to describe the turkey's hitting the ground.

Cannot believe that no one opined that the GREATEST SITCOM OF ALL TIME is SEINFELD!!

Am with ya 100% (and was expecting J-Pod to name it during his long lead-in to The Good Place, which was very good). I fully believe that, given how much they all -- particularly Jon and Matt -- mention Seinfeld during regular podcasts, that it's to be assumed that Seinfeld's their #1, almost by default...and they were really shooting for a "#1 after Seinfeld" deal.
(In the same way that when most people are asked to name "favorite cuisine," Italian may not be named...though it's the universal top dog. To the degree that it's almost boring to name it in response. : - )

This Boomer's favorite sitcom of all time is the "I Love Lucy" show. Many episodes were sociologically meaningful, LOL funny, and remain classics to this day.

I agree with John. It’s definitely Billy Wilder.

If "It's A Wonderful Life" is considered a Christmas movie, so is Die Hard.

The reason of the great polarization of the American political system is the increasing Transparency of it, which has rendered it utterly useless. This began in the early 70's with the opening of secret Committee meetings, and the decision to make very congressional vote public. This has led to the excessive influence of pressure groups, who can monitor how congressmen vote, and therefore can threaten them if they do not act as they want. This has led to a complete polarization in both parties. There is a need for less transparency and more secret votes in congress. Live transmission is also a bane to the more showy congressmen, so this would be a solution to that also.

The Simpsons has to be mentioned as one of the greatest sitcoms.

WKRP was phenomenal. But Frazer was the best sitcom of all time.
Die Hard is a Christmas movie since it does have a happy ending. 😂

The rule for Christmas movies: BUT FOR Christmas, the core plot of the film could not have occurred.
"Die Hard" is a Christmas movie because Hans Gruber plans the raid to occur during the Nakatomi Christmas party. "Miracle on 34th Street" is a Christmas movie because the core plot is about a department store santa. "Home Alone" is a Christmas movie because the Christmas vacation is the reason Kevin is left home alone, and the Wet Bandits strike when homes are unoccupied.
"Little Women" is not a Christmas movie. While Christmas occurs during the story, it is not central to the story. "While You Were Sleeping" is not Christmas movie. Pete could have been pushed onto the train tracks any day of the year, it just happened to be Christmas.

You have a great, informative podcast. But you seriously need to run your audio signal through some kind of filter that evens out the volume. Some of your people almost whisper, others yell out loud, and it makes listening to it quite disconcerting. There are technical fixes for this that you need to look into.

You guys are showing your age. The best sitcom was The Dick Van Dyke show, followed by Bewitched. Yea I’m older than you.

I did a search for "Chuckles Bites the Dust".....found it on UA-cam. I don't understand why you rated it so highly. I don't have a problem with "death" humor, but that episode was lame.
