Your video is simple enough for a novice like myself to understand and follow. Will be working on my hanging basket today and for weeks to come. Thanks so much for sharing your expertise.
Those look so cool! I want to do some but I will use a tire for the base instead of a planter. Not much short of an F4 tornado or hurricane will take it down. lol. Unless they put rocks in the bottom half, it looks tippy.
I'm trying folks, but improvising to save money towards the actual flowers. I got the landscape fabric and pot from Dollar Tree and had some chicken wire. I had the other materials on hand....lol turning out ok so far. My chicken wire holes are pretty small so I have to fix that.
would love to do this, but how do you secure it so that it doesn't fall over and have to be rebuilt? I know I would be clumsy and bump into it at some point during the season...
This is beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Any ideas if this will work with perennials like dianthus, phlox, impatiens etc. in Bangalore climate? Also, will this work directly on the ground instead of in a pot? Look forward to your advise.
+Sheshadri I have tried and miserably failed growing the plants you mentioned. These are too delicate and very sensitive to climate, unsuitable to my location which is kochi, sea level. On the other hand they grow and flower very well, colourfully, at altitudes of 3000 feet and above, like munnar, ootty.........
+TV Oommen +Aniket Mondal No Luck!! Bought seedling trays, quality manure, researched, researched and bought a bunch of all types of seeds..not just petunia... no luck at all. I am going to try with tried and tested geranium.. will see how it goes.
Sandra? Use a pvc pipe cut to size for what? How will a pvc pipe help make a tower in which to plant multiple plants. Your comment was intriguing, but doesn't reveal in any way how a pvc pipe will help with this project. Can you further elaborate and tell exactly what the pvc pipe is to be used for and how to use it? Thanks.
get yourself about a 4 ft piece of pvc pipe, 6+ inches in diameter. have someone cut you 2 inch holes placed up and down the pipe vertically........then just plant your young flowers in those holes..and also the top opening......it is the same concept....have fun
Sandra Casagrande Thanks.. well, right after I made my comment I went looking and boy howdy was I shown some things! Many of them are using a type of pipe without soil and I just think that's a great idea if you can spend 500 dollars on one system with only 20 or so holes. So, I went looking at PVC pipe and BPA content and found only the flexible PVC contains BPA so sure, I can see how using PVC pipe could make for a useful planter for trailing plants or vegetable gardening. Thanks for the response, I wish you would have included the information in your first post. Otherwise I wouldn't have sat on my butt for that extra half hour looking at PVC pipes! lol.. :)
Great ideas and magnificent Mozart music. A perfect combination !
