    Love your videos on proper planting & watering. I’m going to do a 14” with the 3 supertunias you mentioned. Do I mix the colors in the planter or keep them together?
    How many geraniums would I put in a 20” planter please?
    I wish you sold your 14” planters online with your fertilizer.
    Thanks for your time

    Great video iam just going to do up some proven winners jazzberry so I was wondering how many plants to put in a 14 inch basket should I add something white in with them like pink cashmere or would that be to much and for soil do you use a special mix

    Great info! I just purchased the 4.5" pot supertunia vistas for my window boxes... but an curious how to utilize it in the Planters, because of the size of the planter. ( dimensions in inches-20 x 6 x 5).
    Is this too shallow?
    Could I/Should I only use one 4.5" supertunia in the middle? Do I need to cut back the root, and if so will this hurt the plant?
    Any suggestions are welcomed!
    Thanks

    • @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses
      @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses  Рік тому +2

      You may be able to get by with two super petunias, but they are vigorous so they need some soil volume. You don't need to do anything to the roots as long as you are using good soil (see our videos on soil.)

  • @maureenmckenna5220
    @maureenmckenna5220 2 місяці тому +1

    My experience with Supertunia vista is that one plant covered about 3 x 3 feet. I used Bubblegum last year. I had to trim that one plant off the walk as it fell over the retaining wall. One plant.

    • @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses

      If it has some depth to it probably every foot or so. Super petunias get big so they will need a lot of good soil.

    • @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses
      @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses  Рік тому

      The super petunias from Proven Winners are very vigorous. We do like Easy Wave petunias too which are more compact and turn out very nicely, but not as much vigor as the super petunias.

      Supertunias are very vigorous. Last year I had 20 inch hanging basket with 1 bubblegum, 1 silverberry & 1 jazzberry, it filled out quickly & was easier to keep watered in the hottest part of the summer. Saves money too

    if i wanted to plant petunia's from seed in the 8" basket would i simply prune it to one plant then? and 2-3 plants for the 10" and so on?

    • @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses
      @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses  3 місяці тому +3

      Probably would be better to start the seeds in small containers and then transplant into the baskets. Petunia seeds would be started around Christmas time.

      Due to state licensing we can't ship to OK at this time. Just the 19 states that we can ship to. A lot of our customers just ship to a friend or relative in one of the states that we can ship to.

    Your pots are obviously gorgeous and successful, but can you have successful 14 inch pots with 3 plants ? I did a lot of reading and that was recommended in a lot of places , but yours are double 🤔. I want them full but don’t need them huge if that makes sense. But maybe I should add more. Some are vistas and others just supertunias.

    My 14" petunia basket has begun growing down the sides but has a giant hole in the middle. Unfortunately I bought it pre made & spent $50 on it two weeks ago. It had looked lovely for a week. I used fertilizer on it 5 days ago. Help!!!!

    How can you tell the mounding petunias? Most labels don't say at the plant shops.

    • @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses
      @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses  Рік тому

      You can usually see if there is a mention on the tag of "mounding" or "trailing" or "semi-trailing" but yes, not all tags have the needed info.

    • @danih7577
      @danih7577 Рік тому +1

      Most of what I buy either says wave Or nothing at all. If it doesn’t say wave then 99% of the time it’s mounding or lightly trailing (for flower beds) and usually (not always) a little less $ if your purchasing cells.
      If it’s a wave petunia they always want to advertise the tm.

    • @jajatime9724
      @jajatime9724 Рік тому +1

      @Dani H thank you so much. I bought some Mambo Burgandy in cells so I'm hoping it won't trail that much since I put it in a low pot on my porch.

      @@jajatime9724 gorgeous let me know how they do! They’re a dwarf and very tolerant of everything and won’t get leggy either. I’d like to try them in my flower bed next year from seed and a few for pots ❤️
      Please let me know how their vibrant booms stand up to July heat. Don’t forget to fertilize as soon as they’re potted. My goal is hundreds of blooms this year, opposed to crispies and long legs 🤞

    I strongly disagree. This is way too many supertunias in a basket! These are monster plants and 1 supertunia will cover a 10” pot nicely.
    7 to 9 in a 14” is Rediculous! The supertunias get to be 2 to 3 feet in circumference. Why do you need so many?

    • @SharkeysFloralGreenhouses

      You can disagree, we've been doing this for thousands of hanging baskets a year and they turn out incredible.
