Another great adventure from the NightFlyyer! I was out of the hobby for about 30 years and got a bug and purchased a Blade SR. Since then I've added an MSR & B 400. Still working on CP flying, but I get the SR up and down without needing a basket after flight! Recently I saw Night Vapor and fell in love! Never did any night flying before and it's really a gas! Last weekend I purchased the micro T-28 and love it. It's going to bet my 1st "lights" project. Love your vids Dave! UR a great guy!
Hi Dave, Awsome flights as usual, I have also installed the TinyBrite lights (navigation set ) to my PZ micro P51, the red nav packed up after a short while so I emailed TB lights asking for spares and they sent me a new set to the UK free of charge. outstanding company... :) . Flying at dusk brings on a whole new experience and its all thanks to you , I have added Lights to all my Models including , Heli's, planes and Nitro car. Cheers Buddy
wow dave how ironic! its my birthday tomorrow and i was thinking of getting that plane but saw little reviews! all of a sudden u came out with this video! thank you dave!
just picked this up today! got a deal at the local train store. RTF under $100.first thing to do is to research your library for the low down...... I love the Tiny Brite Lights will add them to mine as well. Always informative Thank you.
I use a 220 ma Ares helicopter battery in my Micro T-28 and it gives me more than double flight times with no decrease in performance. The Micro Trojan uses a mini "brushed" motor which likely will have a reduced lifespan with the longer run times and additional heat generated. But the motors are cheap and easily changed so the compromise is well worth the extra time in the air. Happy flying this great little plane.
Hey Dave - Awesome. A great "review" and I really enjoyed the night flight! I have a beaten up fullsize I picked up used and so maybe I need the little one now! :)
Wow,7 years since you did this video, and I just found it. I have both planes, both sizes. I am wondering if you can still get those micro lights,I want to put them on my UM X planes ( all of the now) . I too enjoy late evening flying in the summer and find I get great convection lift off the fields at night. If you dont get dew,its great. Dew adds weight to the plane and I run the risk of water damage. I just watched a video where a guy uses refridgerator boxes opened long ways for taking off runways. I was thinking of investing in landscaping fabric but boxes are free and I am all about free. I can put them in my friends barn at night so the wont get ruined too. This might be an old video, but its new to me! awesome. So much has happened to you, but glad you are still in it.
Hi Nightflyyer I just bought a micro T28 today and I also picked up the Eflite 500 battery. I found out that they also sell a little adaptor that plugs into the original battery plug in the plane so I do not have to solder an additional plug in the plane. I can't wait to fly the plane but it's raining here on the west coast. I have the large T28 I fly all the time so the little one should be fun too.
as always, great video! Maybe to help eliminate some of the receiver's red light bleed through, you could paint the inside of the fuselage with a black paint of sorts?
Very nice tip for this kind of planes. I had mine in the air today with this lipo. I simply used the adapter from my charger. 20 minutes of flying in the wind was no problem, but after this my fingers were off. we had today -2 ° C here :) The CG was just right, a little bit nose heavy perhaps...
I bought one of these batteries today and put it in my micro T-28 and while it does give me 30 min of flight time, the responsiveness of the plane is a lot slower. The added weight really slows it down, but it isn't so bad that it won't fly. Again, not bad and is actually great for a newer pilot as it makes the plane more docile. I had to carve out a bit towards the back of the plane to slide the batter back about a half inch as it was nose heavy after putting the 500 mAh batter in.
Nice review. I was surprised at how long the flight time was with the stock battery while using your LED mod too. When using the 500 mAH battery, your flight time was clearly becoming too long(almost) when you commented that your hands were starting to get cold. Very funny, BTW.
@NightFlyyer thank you very much = ) I'm already waiting for the show :-) I'd like to thank you for opening my eyes to RC, now 2 years after i first saw your show I'm trying to fly rc planes every day and I'm almost don with my pilot sertefication :) thank you for showing me the joy of airplanes
Hi Dave Nice spot as usual, have been enjoying your flights (especially the mailbox jet one ) just kidding will be picking up my BNF Mini T 28 and the F4F today as well, have a look at my Aerobird 3 wing repair einforcement Vid after my learning experiance with the folding wing lol, something you do once, the repair has been stellar and have been wringing it out hard to see if it will fail and it will take anything now, it was a cheap repair (less than 3 $) and a bit of time. nice video
Nice video. I heard a rumor they were discontinuing the UMX T-28. Not sure. It is a fun little plane. Personally I wish there was something in between this and the bigger T-28.
WOW!! 31 mniutes?!!! Amazing!! Do you have some tips to increase the flight time on the larger T-28?? I have all the PZ micros, and this was a great tip!! So that's where the machine guns go... well, the cowl on the larger one is a separate piece, so that could cause a problem..Any suggestions besides tape? I'm thinking of mounting those with pins to the outside of the cowl. I just picked up the large warbird lights from tinybritelights. You have great vids. keep going!!
Fab video Dave, have the big trojan and love her,not getting the lil t28, I have the lil P51,Sukhoi & Xp,the P51 is a night flyer, learned to fly with it & is rough(fine at night). Its past it,taking the tbl of it and putting on old Sukhoi nice mg lights on cowl. I have bought 2 of the 500 mAh bats after watching your first experiment soldering tomorrow! Inspiring vids as always,20+ minutes flight time, I cant wait, I already fly them in windy conditions, the extra weight should help alot. ~S~
Thanks for a great idea and many great videos. I am curious about whether the longer flights with the larger battery caused you problems with the motor wearing/burning out sooner. I have heard that with most of these small micro motors, you can only run through a limited number of regular batteries before you have to let them cool or risk burning out the motor. You flew for about 20 minutes with the larger battery. Did this cause you to have to replace the battery sooner?
Hey Dave I just got this and want to set up the lights and wondered what you used to punch the holes in the wings? They are so thin I am afraid I might crack it..lol Love all your videos by the way!
Cool vid Dave! Flying more than 30 minutes with one battery is astonishing, but what about the engine, is there any danger of overheating? By the way, how does the repairs with the F4 going?
Great video. Ordered one over here in the U.K as a result. Do you now if my 1s 3.7 300 mah lipos will be ok in the T28? Thanks again for great vid (and a Happy Chritmas!)
Awesome Video! WOW! I hope Parkzone is paying you something, cause I am now thinking about going out and buying one of these! Really! BTW, where are you from? I use to live in North Dakota and your landscape looks familar! Jay
Also.. I seem to have found a charging adapter that seems to make the switch even easier, do you think this may cause any other problems? Thanks again for some great ideas Marc
@starcraftluver62 Shouldn't have thrown it away, the electronics can be used for any number of DIY projects using construction foam like Depron. If you broke it in two days then you needed a trainer to start off with like the HobbyZone Cub.
Hey Dave, great flying. I have to get this planeXD. Im a proud owner of the Parkzone corsair, and it flies wery well. is this type of "mini" planes harder to fly than the larger Corsair, Trojan, Etc. ? Thanks for sharing. David (Bluescan92) Norway
Would you suggest this for a first time airplane pilot? I fly helicopters usually but am looking for a trainer that when I get more comfortable can just start doing 3d with it.
Hey night flyer, well i just got my t-28 and love it, the guy at the shop said the rtf controler was just as good however he didnt know if i would harm anything by useing those 500mah, 3.7 bateries. Did you have to change anything eles??
I don't get 2 minutes flight time out of either of my original sized PZ batts. After landing, the engine will run again for another minute or 2 if I don't run it hard, but that's it. How do you charge the larger batt? thx
Im about to buy my first micro and there are so many cool planes but wich one! Im thinking about the sukoi su-27, micro p-51,e flite 4 site, or this one. which is the best? Im ok at 3D but not great . . . . the trojan has good looks along with the micro spitfire . . .any help
can you give me some advice i'm going to buy this plane this DEcember and this is my 2nd plane b4 i have su-27 4channel..and after 6 sec i've crash it...and the now i'm working on simulator and i'm doing great on the orientation of the aircraft...having a great time in simulator do you recommend this thing to me
well love the lights and others hopping to get 1 of these but just spet around 150 in a heli and if i fail to like the heli well..... i think ill get the bnf with a brand new radio and 500 mH-a bat cant believe you got 30 mins thats amazing and i wont have lights
@mrpuddlemrpuddle most of the time they say start big. I started with this and I'm glad I did. If you can fly this then you can fly the bigger airplanes. It is pretty much crash resistent. I have crashed it into the ground from 100ft into concreat and only broke a little foam. I think it is great for beginners.
@jaygdav I am not paid in anyway or affiliated with parkzone but i can tell you I love every parkzone plane I have, they are not perfect (nothing is) and they are not really that cheap but every one has flown right out the box, no problems. Thumbs up from me! You can see me crashing my micro sukhoi and p51 and other models in my vids, pilot error, lol. no crashes (touch wood) with my pz trojan (big one) or my only nitro plane. I started a year ago.
at that point i may as well dump a 100 bux for a brand new plane. I went ahead and purchaed the mini edge 540 for $65 and it is a much better flying machine. Also the parkzone has a proprietary servo/radio/esc deal that you cant really do much with OUTSIDE a parkzone plane unless you get REALLY creative..
I personally think the park zone mini series are very over priced. $100 for a little piece of foam. I got the SU-26xp and don't get me wrong i love how it flies like a dream. but due to many belly landings in grass and its tendency to land nose down i had basically destroyed the foam around the motor mount to the point i needed to purchase a new fuselage. the wing is pretty much impossible to remove without completely destroying the wing or the fuse $70 shipped for new wing/fuse is a bit much.
@starcraftluver62 actually this is the best micro plane i have ever flown. it actually flys better than most planes out there. LoL. but then again i do know how to fly, and i also know not to throw working electronics away after a crash. 4 words. Get You A Sim!

Those lights really look great from any angle, very cool video!!
Thanks for sharing.
wow mr. herbert, that was one amazing video! i really have to say that was great, awesome flying and amazing vid!
just picked this up today! got a deal at the local train store. RTF under $100.first thing to do is to research your library for the low down...... I love the Tiny Brite Lights will add them to mine as well. Always informative Thank you.
What a great little plane, Dave. I have just bought one & can't wait to maiden her.
The longest tiny electric flight i`ve ever seen
Cool Plane Mr. Herbert, 2 thumbs up, makes me wanna buy one :D

Hey Dave - Awesome. A great "review" and I really enjoyed the night flight! I have a beaten up fullsize I picked up used and so maybe I need the little one now! :)
Cool project, love our full size T28.
Those fly great together!
AWSOME video, I am new to flying, currently learning on the hobbyzone champ. and I think thanks to your video this may be my next plane.

very interesting setup in that plane

Excellent! We're not all that far off of having snow on the ground. Maybe some tiny white floats to go on your T-28 might be a grand idea. :-)
@NightFlyyer
thank you very much = )
I'm already waiting for the show :-)
I'd like to thank you for opening my eyes to RC, now 2 years after i first saw your show I'm trying to fly rc planes every day and I'm almost don with my pilot sertefication :)

Nice video. I heard a rumor they were discontinuing the UMX T-28. Not sure. It is a fun little plane. Personally I wish there was something in between this and the bigger T-28.
vista7 Nope,they still make them...In yellow now!
Wow, the lights look great!
it does make charging them fiddly but I have so many of the smaller batterys and also a paralel adaptor so I can plug in 2 of the tiny lipos

Will the larger battery fry the motor if being used for a longer period of time?
I was wondering have you every crashed any planes, and how are you able to know what your flying range is? Thanks for the great video.
@ExplosivetipStudios Always nice to hear from someone who's done it. Thanks :)
Cool vid Dave! Flying more than 30 minutes with one battery is astonishing, but what about the engine, is there any danger of overheating? By the way, how does the repairs with the F4 going?

Great flight time of 31 minutes but the little brushed motor will not like running for that long for each flight. More so for warmer climates.
I've heard that this ultra micro Trojan is pretty easy to fly and mild in comparison with the ultra micro Mustang.
Awesome Video! WOW! I hope Parkzone is paying you something, cause I am now thinking about going out and buying one of these! Really! BTW, where are you from? I use to live in North Dakota and your landscape looks familar! Jay

can we try putting a 12 cell on the micro plane ... that would be awsome if the motors didnt burn out. by the way ur mods was great !
30 minutes? thats pretty impressive!

Hey Dave, have you had any problems with the micro servos bickering too much? i noticed that i will see them sometimes twitch with no input.
Hey Dave, great flying. I have to get this planeXD. Im a proud owner of the Parkzone corsair, and it flies wery well. is this type of "mini" planes harder to fly than the larger Corsair, Trojan, Etc. ?

Hey there. The plane also flies excellent with a 550mah too.
What receiver do you have in the big plane. That antenna looks long.
nice video = )
can you please do a video of how to snap roll, I'd really like to learn some acrobatics like snap rolls and flat spins.
Thank you :-D
Would you suggest this for a first time airplane pilot? I fly helicopters usually but am looking for a trainer that when I get more comfortable can just start doing 3d with it.
Hey night flyer, well i just got my t-28 and love it, the guy at the shop said the rtf controler was just as good however he didnt know if i would harm anything by useing those 500mah, 3.7 bateries. Did you have to change anything eles??
@NightFlyyer Good to hear, Thanks Dave!
What do you use to keep the t-28 top on after you have taken it off?
I don't get 2 minutes flight time out of either of my original sized PZ batts. After landing, the engine will run again for another minute or 2 if I don't run it hard, but that's it. How do you charge the larger batt? thx
I find that I enjoy flying the Micro flyers more.
great music, i love bond name these sogns please
Bigger batts on that motor, wouldn't that burn the motor out?
were did u buy the leds
I have soldered the plugs from a couple of msr batteries onto the 500 mah ones, this should be ok i think?
@gurandsuv not really, it doesn't have enough surface area to do much in the air.
Do I have to change anything else to use the 500 mil batteries? (electronics)
you need a way to turn the gun lights off and on in the air
Im about to buy my first micro and there are so many cool planes but wich one! Im thinking about the sukoi su-27, micro p-51,e flite 4 site, or this one. which is the best? Im ok at 3D but not great . . . . the trojan has good looks along with the micro spitfire . . .any help

nice song in background
is it slow and small enough to fly in an average backyard?
ooo flies nice. Ill be looking at it
do you think this is better than the UM P-51?
which is better the micro or its big brother
thanx please reply
Can I use the 250mah 1cell from the mosquito with this airplane
hey i cant seem to find a pz trojan in the navy scheme without the price being over £153
im from england
very sweet, should get more or less the same from my Sukhois
how about the blade120 sr?
hi if you have an battery with more voltage you should have a better speed controller but thats all
nice!!! i need to get some 500mah batteries
Pleasee dave! fly your vintage Ducted fan jet! i would love to see that!
great video, thanks!

31 MINUTES! WOW!!
those stunts are dangerous when real pilot.... but still rc planes are really awesome one of the amazing stunts
@starcraftluver62 actually this is the best micro plane i have ever flown. it actually flys better than most planes out there. LoL. but then again i do know how to fly, and i also know not to throw working electronics away after a crash. 4 words. Get You A Sim!
ain't ya afraid to hit the wires all around ya
Why the x files theme song
i wish i could afford one of those T_T
Anyone please respond?
wow amazing u could make so much money off of your add ons.
Yes i like this one it looks great in the air sweet {"_*)
@bobmaxiao he's to good for that :p
hiya...incorrect
