- In this video I turn a Hybrid Hollow-Form from Burr Elm and epoxy resin, the resin had some cool swirls that reminded me of the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis)..

The combination of complex grain and smooth resin swirls, especially blue which I think complements wood better than some colours, tends to produce a geographical map-like or photo-from-space effect. I think the result is a combination of beauty, familiarity and strangeness which has emotional and intellectual appeal.

You always pick wonderful resin colours but I do love how you go the swirling motion of the ocean in this piece, congrats on producing a wonderful piece of art.
That was really quite spectacular! I wonder how long a piece like that truly takes to create because you make it look so simple, and I know you edit for time, content, and presentation, which are all equally artistic skills to match your craftsmanship in creating the actual piece itself. Obviously, you didn't make it 9 minutes, but your video is so seamless, that you could make people believe you did. HA!

I'm always amazed to see hollow form turnings. You can't see what you're doing with the sharp tool you're using on the inside so you have to rely on feel. Super easy to go too far.
