I love how A7X is one of the most hated bands of the genre yet they manage to release some of the most experimental music of the mainstream bands in the first two singles of their new album. Sadly we probably never will see anything close to the 80s to early 2000s again with how degenerative our culture has become.
they've never produced anything like this, it's always been quite instrumental, musical and structured for the most part, this new stuff is a mess. Especially gameover. And I've never seen so many fans agree that it sucks. It's definitely different.

The quality isn't amazing because it's recorded by audience members, but you need to react to their first live performance in 5 years. Everyone has been talking about how Matt won't be able to sing like he used to but jesus christ he sounds better than ever. Even if you don't do a video on it I can't recommend checking it out enough, it makes me so fucking excited to see them live again!
They usually start like they still need a little bit to perfect the Live shows, but you will be able to see how in a matter of time the live is polished until the show itself will also be a work of art. And it is also something that I like to see from them, that in the first shows they are still human and they need time to get used to it and transmit those little things, feelings and interpretations that they are going to give us in future shows. 🤟
I’ve seen em live 4 times and this is the best Matt’s voice has sounded live in years and it’s really made me sad I can’t go see them live this summer but I look forward to seeing them live again.

One of my other favourite bands is extremely versatile. Muse. They aren’t very complicated like A7X but they deserve a solid deep dive. At least check out their heavy rock songs 😊 They’re very classical music influenced, as A7X sometimes adds classical music. Okay bye 😘

Man i went to Vegas to a listening party for the new album. It's crazy! There were songs that reminded me of dream theater, Alice in chains, Frank Sinatra, the beegees, hendrix.... and one that was like a mini version of exist. Mattel will be a crowd favorite though. That song went HARD

I went to the full album listen in Vegas a few days ago and it truly is absolutely amazing from start to finish. It takes you in all directions and genres with moments of ‘what the heck was that?’ They truly can do it all. Please do a full album listen when it comes out!

Out of the two songs I’ve released, I’ve kinda figured it out. Think of it like trying to explain a weird dream you had to someone. Life is But a Dream is the album title after all. You’re going to end up in places that make absolutely no sense without the full context (in this case the full album). Some moments will be happy, some exciting, some familiar, some flat out weird, and some anxious. With that in mind, these songs started to hit WAY harder.
Wow. It's far more hectic than I typically prefer, but that was a real work of art. So many genres. That scream caught me off guard lol, glad he still throws a few in here and there.

The intro: speaking to the Earth and its beauty The verse: More power More Pace (Corporate greed and financial gain as fast as possible) The chorus: Singing about the beauty of the Earth and being literally one in a million, only to destroy it (unto the mud) verse 2: getting on speed to get the job done faster, to go faster and build faster. Chorus 2 Heavy verse 3: The corporate CEO or military (depending on the point of view) saying to basically build, burn or kill anything standing in their way, even the Earth (Unto the Mud references back to earlier in the song) Verse 3: The song goes back through a loop of what was referenced previously with a few different lines. Chorus 3: when this is repeated, there is a second part to the chorus, describing how despite what we do to the planet, it will carry on without us and rebuild itself. Outro: Ending on We love you. This song is a love letter to our planet, and the destruction that people bring to it. It’s a much “more” sad song than people realize.
6:25 brings me back to a thing Matt said in an interview about how we all want the same thing but go different ways about doing it, you could make the comparison from that to the whole genre switching in the song, but hey that's just a theory
Of all the songs so far, I think "Game over" has gotta be my favourite. Very weird stuff, in the best way possible. The only way I can describe it is very punk and very theatrical. There's a line in the lyrics "and here I swing from my family tree" that absolutely blew my mind. And also "I don't belong here, anymore" that I really felt.

It's not a very similar song, but if you're looking for more Avenged Sevenfold, you have to check out Coming Home. It's an amazing song, and it has one of, if not the absolute best guitar solos they've ever made.

Ever since Remenissions, I always knew A7X would head into a direction eventually to release their full creativity. This is the ONE and ONLY band, I've stuck with and love throughout each new album they put out. I love that they have so many influences and want to try everything, everything they wanted to try. Go nuts, Go berserk, do you, live life, don't listen to anybody else and just love what you do. This album is going to be amazing. I'm seeing them in a month at MSG, so freaking excited!
When I first heard this song, the first thing I thought of was the joker/crazed person driving round town, brain high and buzzed out, everything is spinning out in insanity and utter chaos. What a sound to mimic the crazy, fast and chaotic world we live in now.
I think when you asked “is there a deeper meaning to the switches and stuff” I think there is…they are playing homage to the styles of genuine music that came before them…and it’s a little bit of a satirical play on the 40 seconds attention span we have as an audience now a days.

So, quick suggestion, it's a song by Smash Into Pieces It's a band I just recently fully started listening to, but their best song imo is easily Save it For the Living. If you want a song that's less so break down and cry your eyes out, but more energetic and upbeat, Boomerang definitely fits that bill and is one of their most popular

It's not about video quality, you can take their best song in a live performance and record it with a potato, it will still sound good

People can hate, but in all honesty, I think this is what music is about, not making the same type of song for decades (cough cough metallica) but getting insane with it and trying all sorts of shit, that's why I respect Serj Tankian's solo songs, one album he's full metal the next it's a god damn orchestra

The intro: speaking to the Earth and its beauty
The verse: More power More Pace (Corporate greed and financial gain as fast as possible)
The chorus: Singing about the beauty of the Earth and being literally one in a million, only to destroy it (unto the mud)
verse 2: getting on speed to get the job done faster, to go faster and build faster.
Chorus 2
Heavy verse 3: The corporate CEO or military (depending on the point of view) saying to basically build, burn or kill anything standing in their way, even the Earth (Unto the Mud references back to earlier in the song)
Verse 3: The song goes back through a loop of what was referenced previously with a few different lines.
Chorus 3: when this is repeated, there is a second part to the chorus, describing how despite what we do to the planet, it will carry on without us and rebuild itself.
Outro: Ending on We love you.
This song is a love letter to our planet, and the destruction that people bring to it. It’s a much “more” sad song than people realize.

Of all the songs so far, I think "Game over" has gotta be my favourite. Very weird stuff, in the best way possible. The only way I can describe it is very punk and very theatrical. There's a line in the lyrics "and here I swing from my family tree" that absolutely blew my mind. And also "I don't belong here, anymore" that I really felt.

This song is very ambitious. Not sure about it just yet. The first single was kinda cool but this is crazy. Would not have expected anything like this from A7X. Yes do a full album review. The next song you should do is welcome to the family. One of my favs off the nightmare album.

It's not a very similar song, but if you're looking for more Avenged Sevenfold, you have to check out Coming Home. It's an amazing song, and it has one of, if not the absolute best guitar solos they've ever made.

Ever since Remenissions, I always knew A7X would head into a direction eventually to release their full creativity. This is the ONE and ONLY band, I've stuck with and love throughout each new album they put out. I love that they have so many influences and want to try everything, everything they wanted to try. Go nuts, Go berserk, do you, live life, don't listen to anybody else and just love what you do. This album is going to be amazing. I'm seeing them in a month at MSG, so freaking excited!

When I first heard this song, the first thing I thought of was the joker/crazed person driving round town, brain high and buzzed out, everything is spinning out in insanity and utter chaos.

I think there is…they are playing homage to the styles of genuine music that came before them…and it’s a little bit of a satirical play on the 40 seconds attention span we have as an audience now a days.

So, quick suggestion, it's a song by Smash Into Pieces It's a band I just recently fully started listening to, but their best song imo is easily Save it For the Living. If you want a song that's less so break down and cry your eyes out, but more energetic and upbeat, Boomerang definitely fits that bill and is one of their most popular

This is one wild song, I think it makes a lot more sense with the story behind it and sonically it does match up. Not gonna lie, the part at 4:33 when you jumped is freaking hilarious, I had pretty much the same reaction first time listening 😂

this is my first hearing of this new song too, tbh i kinda dig it, i wasnt at first but it gets good and the mashup of genres is ridiculous, especially coming from a band as big as A7X, I have a feeling a lot of people are gonna dislike this new album because of that, i kinda wanna say this album is gonna be like A7X's St. Anger, unliked by a lot because they tried something different, but i could be wrong. i'm excited about thiss album i think its really cool they stepped outta their box, i will say i did not like the first song as much as this one. also, its been a while since i watched you Alex but the vids are still bangin, i'll definitely be watching more haha
damn, this is very experimental. Metalbirb is right when he said that the fans were gonna be polarized with this album, either they're really gonna dig it, or they're gonna hate it like how The Stage was received. i am down for them experimenting and trying new things, forever and always, but idk if it's my bag yet.
