    i'm super thankful that i found your channel. I'm 17 and just recently came back to Christ. your energy and your way of talking and methodology for taking notes, etc. is really inspiring. you've helped me realize that reading the Bible can be fun, it doesn't have to be strict and boring. thank you brother :)

      Hey Bear. Thanks for those kind words.
      I actually do my "bible is metal" series with a friend who is your age. The tagline for the show is "if you think the Bible is boring, then you aren't reading it". The links to it should be in the video description. We have video and audio versions of the show available. You might enjoy that.
      Thanks again.

    What strikes me through all your videos on the bible is your passion for scripture. It's refreshing to see someone so in love with the bible like you are. Keep sharing and encouraging us!

    7:35 - Drive me nuts too! Give me that bonus space! (They do start in the middle of the page in all Cambridge wide margins)
    Crossway's wide margin is a little more gracious in font size and space.
    I'm going to buy 2 of these NIV versions... in case they disappear like the old-school hardbacks from cambridge.

    I'm pretty sure that books start on the same page as the other book ends in the ESV as well. It's just that Isaiah didn't have room on the previous page.

    • @revchadbrooks
      @revchadbrooks  2 роки тому

      I’m not at the office, so I don’t have my ESV hardbacks, but I swear they all start on a new page because I know I’ve used the blank space for writing longer notes before.

      @@revchadbrooks I am looking at my turkey buzzard now. Daniel starts on a new page even though it has room after Ezekiel for at least a few verses, but Luke starts directly after Mark on the same page. So it depends I guess on how much room there is.

    this video definitely made me want this bible, i’m someone who prefers to use multiple bibles whether that be a couple of different translations while i read or a study bible and another translation in a “regular” bible. i’ve never taken notes or journaled in my bible and i think having this bible alongside my other ones to take notes in would be a good way to get started. also, where can i get the “the bible is metal” sticker?

    Hey Pastor Chad. Thanks for this walk-through. Love the overhead rig and would not be against you ever making a video on how you created it (I realize that doesn't have to do with the theme of your channel!) :)
    I've read through the Bible many times and thought I wanted to do it again this year chronologically, but as I get closer to the LORD in my walk, I find I want to go deeper than just reading the Bible daily with a plan. Not sure if you'd ever consider this, but I wonder if you'd think about doing a video on how you create a sermon as a Pastor. I saw you have a "How do I read the Bible as a Pastor" and I may check that out.
    I want to do some topical studies, and I thought who better to ask how to look at topics than a pastor! :) Anyway, I won't take up any more of your time. Thanks again, and may God bless you, your family, and your church as you work to serve Him and build His kingdom!

      Hey Ted - As far as the overhead rig, I totally followed what Van Neistat did on this video. ua-cam.com/video/hUrHu_IpSRc/v-deo.html
      I've tried to do the "how i write a sermon" video several times but have always struggled with it. Maybe this year, who knows.
      Thanks for your kind words.

    Chad quick question.
    How do you decide to highlight something vs just using colored pen?

    • @revchadbrooks
      @revchadbrooks  2 роки тому +1

      The pens don't always get a note. Just marking. Highlights always get a corresponding note on the margins.

    Hey Chad! Thanks for the video. After your first video, I went ahead and got a Cambridge Bible, too. I use the Bible app and the Seedbed app for morning devotions. Do you make room for that in your daily count of when you read scripture? I don't know if that question makes sense or not. Thanks for this video!

    • @revchadbrooks
      @revchadbrooks  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the question. Currently, I am using the daily office in the morning and evenings for Bible readings. I'm also doing a deeper dive in jeremiah slowly and reading 5 chapters of Matthew a day.
      Does that answer your question?
