I've rapidly lost faith in BillyG with his signings and players he's consistently blocked out at this point.

One thing really bugs me. Skor North, you, The Hockey Writers and I'm certain some other outlets calling Treninea center. He's been a full time center for SIXTEEN REGULAR SEASON GAMES. Yes, his player card says he's a center. Avs played him at center because of their positional need. He took 170 faceoffs in 16 games with them, with 45.3% success rate. But before Colorado, he'd taken 137 faceoffs in 283 games, with 40.1% success rate.
That doesn't look like a center to me. He should definitely be a bottom 6 winger. I really like Trenin as a player. I like the term in isolation and I like the cap hit in isolation. I just don't like these two together, especially not with a trade protection.

You're probably right, he's likely to be tossed to the wing but in my conversations with other writers he seems to be stronger at center than on the wing. We'll see come camp!

How many PROVEN quality centers do we have? 2 Ek and Rossi. So let's trade one of them and hope someone can step in. Sounds like hopes and dreams and unicorn pee if you ask me. Freddy? Nope, Hartzy? Nope a winger pressed into the center role. Khusy? Maybe, but not proven yet and not highly touted for scoring. Otherwise no nhl experience in a top 6 role

Jesse has for some reason has a brain lock concerning Rossi. Let it go Jesse. Rossi led all rookies in face off percentage last season. Hello? It’s gotten just downright annoying now. Let it go.

The NFL has the highest revenue for any sport, and all of their games, at least to the local market, are free.

Every center can play wing. Not every wing can play center.
Here's the elephant in the room: of all of the Wild centers playing more than 20 games last season, NONE of them had a face-off percentage at 50% or above. No Wild player did other than Mason Shaw who had a grand total of eight faceoffs. If the team cannot control the puck, the team cannot control the game.

@@anoceanbetweenus89 That's why you need to check the stats. Khusnutdinov's FO% was 47.6%. He started off well, but he regressed to the mean.

Trading Rossi makes absolutely NO SENSE. U DONT TRADE legitimate 20 plus goal guys on a team that Can’t shoot or put the puck in the net. And good luck trading Rossi for Fantilli (a stud) and a Pick. Now that is Funny.

Spend $650K for this year and put Carcus Johansson on waivers. 5 years X$650K buy out Freddy and spend $3.5 Mil on Necas then extend him next year 3 years at $4M. No need to trade Marco. He's a 35 goal potential this year and I think 40 after. Why do you trade Marco? This year will be horrible with too many old and slow veterans that shouldn't have the dang 4 year no trade sensless contracts! So injuries is the only way the kids will play. The problem there it will not be lines by design. We need a coach and GM that know how to build a cup competetive team! BG can get players sure but history tells us Haynes is like the dog that caught the car. No idea what move to make next!!! I will gladly accept being proven wrong... And unless they call back controlling rights for Marat we will not see him this season.

Same questions, but with one caveat... Why can't we terminate useless contracts and make some space for the prospects? I don't seem to find a reason why this is not further discussed?

NHL contracts cannot be terminated unless both parties (player and organization) agree to it. NHL contracts also cannot be restructured.

agreed, in which case it would be considered a buy out. It seems like there is much more upside to playing high potential prospects than there is in these dying contracts. Whats the path to that type of situation?

    • @ericwahlstrom9934
      @ericwahlstrom9934 Місяць тому

we can only have 3 buy-outs on the books at a time so I would buy out Freddy and play MoJo on the 4th line 7 minutes a night. He would be this years Goligosky. Riding the pine.

I honestly don't see Guerin buying out Freddy's contract. That would be admitting a mistake was made I am not sure Guerin is the type of guy to do that. I think we're stuck with Freddy at least one more season. If Freddy replicates 2023-24 THEN I could see a buyout being brought up.
I think the prospects will get some playing time because Kirill Zucc Foligno Hartman Brodin and Spurge are hurt every single year. Unfortunately, the Wild are infamous for putting prospects in a 4th line checking role, whether that is within their skillset or not.

Trading Rossi has no logic whatsoever.
The bane of Suter and Parise contracts are almost done.
This kid is gonna be a real good player.
No way Guerin trades this kid.
If he does he should fire himself.
