Yeah; the civ series has a bit of a problem with scale, and Civ 6's district system kind of accentuated it. If you have a huge Earth map, you could fit whole countries in one tile, so seeing a single city spread out over twenty or so tiles really feels wrong. I know it would melt my CPU, but I'd love to see a Civ game with a realistically scaled Earth. At the moment, I don't know if I could fit more than 10 cities into Europe on a huge Earth map.

As the cities are more spread out, it would be cool if fully capturing a city required controlling/ annexing all its sectors (tiles). I think this would make the process of conquering a city feel more immersive, rewarding, and epic in scale.

Grace O'Malley (Granuaile), the pirate queen of Mayo used Viking ships to quickly sail up rivers and since Viking ships were lighter than other ships of Grace's time, that allowed them to be carried over the land. Apparently the Vikings themselves used the same tactic and carried their ships over land which allowed them to trade with Persia.

hmm I am just wondering if "31 Civs" claim is a lie... as they said that they are splitting Civs into those 3 "Ages" which probably means that you can only chose like 10-11 Civs to start with and then when you get to Age of Exploration you can chose from 10 new ones and then in Modern Age again you can chose from 10. So if I am not wrong you will be able to only start from a selection of 10-11 Civs which does not look soo impressive as 31... but we will see...
Your math is mostly right from what we know. However, I don't think it is too disingenuous of them to say since each of those civs have their own art assets, game play mechanics, and units. Even if you force yourself to view civ 7 as only having 10 civs, each of those civs would have three times the amount of content as previous civ games, and that is before considering the amount of combinations of mixing up your potential cultures as you progress. So, when compared to civ 6's 19 civs at launch, it is an easy argument that 7 still comes out well ahead.
It's not a lie. Each civ is even more fleshed out than previously. Yes that means you do only get to choose between 10 at the start of the game at launch but each of them has multiple paths and can be combined with different leaders.
While hesitant on the new mechanics, I trust the Civ team enough to try it bc they have yet to let me down. BUT only when denuvo is gone. I'm not installing malware to play your game.
It looks great for a console game. What are the inherent limitations that were designed into the game to be compatible across multiple platforms ? Will the PC release feel limited in scope and scale because of the hardware deficiencies of consoles that the game was designed for ? What will the map size be compared to previous games and is there a reason for having a limit to number of cities per civ ? Would it have worked to subdivide hexes for city building so that you can still micro-manage city building without taking up so much space on the map ? You guys put in a lot of effort with making this game but it feels more like a spin-off rather than a true successor of the Civ franchise. The title should be called Civ City.
Random idea- when starting a game would it make more sense to start with no bonuses, as in blank slate, and therefore no cultural or political baggage for all civs. After founding a city and meeting some threshold of either time, city size or city number, would it make more sense to then choose what civ you would like to play as that would be more appropriate for the environment that your civ inhabits which would reinforce/ maximize the bonuses ?
Graphics look good! Civ 6 looks good too. Gameplay looks identical to Civ 6 for the most part. Don't @ me I have consumed all released Civ 7 news. They made a bunch of board game level changes and zero foundational changes.

44:50 there's ostrich in north america?????????
Apparently they were shipped all over the world even at that time.
To be honnest i loved the complexity.. and indivudual promotions for examples micro management.. but ok i understand the need to simplify and gameplay that apeals to a bigger audience for comercial reasons.. hence the minute atention to make this look good.. i hope ut plays great.. its a lot of money to take a risk with.. played all civ version ever..this was first i had doubts about to buy😅 but ok i will probably buy it.. although i hope its more than just nice cosmetic improvement.. but i hope will enjoy playing it
hmm I am just wondering if "31 Civs" claim is a lie... as they said that they are splitting Civs into those 3 "Ages" which probably means that you can only chose like 10-11 Civs to start with and then when you get to Age of Exploration you can chose from 10 new ones and then in Modern Age again you can chose from 10.
Yeah it is a total lie. No one thinks of it as 30 civs.
Sigh we're cooked
'The Game is a SPREADSHEET' Ahhaha XD

it look´s great. but i dont like the ages... i like one game... :/
Well this makes me very excited for this game but why change the image of the Egyptians so drastically? They looked fine in the previous gameplay trailers
What do you mean?
What do you mean? What did they change? Can't see any difference
@@laritest they literally went from brown in complexion to straight pale in the units showcase
@@IRunOnRoots Which would be accurate. Apart from the Kushites/Nubians, which were/are black, Egyptians were/are brown. Same as those people are today.
I do believe though, that there will be some kushite units for Egypt, which will be black people, since we've seen some nubian warriors in the first trailer.
Btw look at 36:55, there are black kushite troops in the video.
@@IRunOnRoots ah, you are right. I didn't see the change. Mh, the old brown looks really better

Haven't even heard of the first one and I'm a history nut, lol. Hopefully both get added at some point, with the codex you can ready through, learning about their history would be interesting.

i did bought civilization anthology for 25 dollars - i think ill still play civ anthology - i think its better and cheaper - and the mods of the civ anthology are great i play in pc
i am honestly abit disappointed with the changes in the civilisation system. but we will see...
I agree, i dont understand how they think that is a good idea...
It's really interesting because I'm so happily surprised about it. Having eg. England or France as civ in the beginning of human history seems more and more odd to me the more I think about it how it was in previous games. I'm excited about this age change what is historically accurate.
Mixing leaders still feels a bit strange but you don't have to do it. However I can image having fun with mixing them when I want a new twist.
