Transformed them I think once than immediately back to truck mode as they were some of fiddley and underwhelming bot modes I think Hasbro has ever produced. That said Studio Series Voyager please.

Say what you will about the twins, this was a decent idea and interesting spin on the whole combiner thing and even if they don't make a studio series figure of this I hope they revisit the idea for a modern pair of transformers who combine in vehicle mode.

I like the idea of twins. I like the idea of two robots joining in altmode. But everything was set up against them. Their designs, their voices, their attitudes... nothing was likeable. I hope they get some sort of redemption later down the line.
The most basic nature of their template was alright: a pair of junior bots babysat by an "older kid" bot, perhaps the previous kid appeal bot. Everything else they added onto that template is the problem.

Personally I love this toy, still have it to this day. Also while I do understand why they want to avoid them I still think they should make ss figures of them, I don’t get SS figures but I do feel that some fans would want them for a full collection. Just pretending that they don’t exist doesn’t change what happened, they have already acknowledged that they were in bad taste so just make toys of them but don’t mention their terrible personalities, maybe don’t even include a bio.
For me when I first saw them they are like Brothers fighting against them self . Sadly we never seen them grow Maturely . And the other half I have no idea that people where Offended.
Like I stated in the last review for Skids ... I love these two !!! Since I saw it in Spanish growing up the stereotypes where gone and they gave us some actually funny characters ... I love them !
I definitely haven't seen or heard anything of them driving in half, though their alt mode prop is seen splitting in half in the final film, though it doesn't look like it does so in such a way that there could be a shot of them still driving afterwards. Edit: The Skids half is seen to be still "driving" a bit after they split. Is this what you mean? Otherwise, I don't believe such a scene exists.
I remember seeing the scene where they drive separately in the movie when I was a kid but I always thought it was something I imagined because I never saw it again after that, which is so strange
You know, if they had actually made it too dotm and were able to go through an arc that led to their heroic sacrifices, their characters could have had a little redemption, however, this is the bayfilms we're talking about. I recently got these guys and personally I really enjoy flipping back in forth between modes. Would recommend getting toyhax stickers ;) (Also I added wheels to the bottom of Skids’ feet for better accuracy) Good studio series stand ins overall.

I didn't see them as being racist, or depicted as being black. I'm certainly not going to use the slang word that describes the type of character that i thought was being portrayed. But, basically, i saw them as the guy from the Pretty Fly For A White Guy Video. I think the whole can't read ancient Cybertronian thing got blown out of porportion. With the exception of people with specialized education on the matter, no one today can read ancient Hieroglyphics. That's how I saw that. The scene you are talking about, isit that one where, while chasing sideways, the twins take a turn and because of the bacn weight the vehicle has they end up splitting and crashing into some barrels?
I can see them eventually doing a Studio Series version of them if they somehow shoehorn a cameo of them into a new movie, and rewrite their personalities to be not racist. Like, maybe in whatever the next Unicron movie is, we get a scene on cybertron with a handful of Autobots from the Bay movies who aren't on earth yet, and we see Skids & Mudflap looking mostly similar to how they did in ROTF, just with different heads, and less racist personalities. Then they could make a Studio Series figure of them both, and brand them as being from that new movie, and not the old one.
I remember loving these characters while growing up, and still remember them up to this day. I would love to have Chevy Sparks in my collection. Specially the concept arts for DOTM.

When I first watched RoTF, I was really young. I had no understanding of any of the racist stereotypes used in their characters, but I absolutely loved them. The two of them were just like me and my brothers, constantly bickering in a joking manner, slapping each other around, and I genuinely thought they were funny. Looking back though.... yeah no. The designs are ugly as fuck, their personalities are problematic at the least, and just genuinely not that good of character design. I still think that their sibling rivalry is pretty funny, and I don't mind the two being complete morons, but it's just not enough.
I was 7 when Rotf came out, and I liked Twins back them , because the did funny shit (or at least I thought it was funny when I saw it as a child). I still have Mudflap from Fast Action Battlers, which was very gimmick oriented deluxe sized toys. His left hand's middle finger can be extended on a rope to function as a grappling hook. I understand why Skids and Mudflap get so much hate, they kinda deserve it, but I have soft spot for them because of nostalgia.

While I recognize their faults, I have a lot of nostalgia for those specific toys. They were some of my first transformers. Hell, I loved them so much I bought two, One to keep as a truck and one to have in their robot modes.

I didn't see them as being racist, or depicted as being black. I'm certainly not going to use the slang word that describes the type of character that i thought was being portrayed. But, basically, i saw them as the guy from the Pretty Fly For A White Guy Video. I think the whole can't read ancient Cybertronian thing got blown out of porportion. With the exception of people with specialized education on the matter, no one today can read ancient Hieroglyphics. That's how I saw that. As requested, I've tried to keep my thoughts as respectful as possible while articulating thoughts on the twins.

I doubt non transformers fans would see the twins on shelves and even remember them from the movie they havent watched since before the 2010s.
However i doubt anyone cares about them besides weirdos like me that grew up with them, i probably have more toys from them than anyone should, i have them both in the deluxe, legends and rpm (the hotwheels type ones), im not proud of it but not really regret it.

The scene you are talking about, isit that one where, while chasing sideways, the twins take a turn and because of the bacn weight the vehicle has they end up splitting and crashing into some barrels?
I can see them eventually doing a Studio Series version of them if they somehow shoehorn a cameo of them into a new movie, and rewrite their personalities to be not racist. Like, maybe in whatever the next Unicron movie is, we get a scene on cybertron with a handful of Autobots from the Bay movies who aren't on earth yet, and we see Skids & Mudflap looking mostly similar to how they did in ROTF, just with different heads, and less racist personalities. Then they could make a Studio Series figure of them both, and brand them as being from that new movie, and not the old one.

When I first watched RoTF, I was really young. I had no understanding of any of the racist stereotypes used in their characters, but I absolutely loved them. The two of them were just like me and my brothers, constantly bickering in a joking manner, slapping each other around, and I genuinely thought they were funny.
Looking back though.... yeah no. The designs are ugly as fuck, their personalities are problematic at the least, and just genuinely not that good of character design. I still think that their sibling rivalry is pretty funny, and I don't mind the two being complete morons, but it's just not enough.
I was 7 when Rotf came out, and I liked Twins back them , because the did funny shit (or at least I thought it was funny when I saw it as a child). I still have Mudflap from Fast Action Battlers, which was very gimmick oriented deluxe sized toys. His left hand's middle finger can be extended on a rope to function as a grappling hook. I understand why Skids and Mudflap get so much hate, they kinda deserve it, but I have soft spot for them because of nostalgia.
