Great video, and I would like for everyone to know that the two of you “geek out” like this all the time, the joy is infectious and the School Of Burnt Parts is a great institution!
Faye I was worried , at the start of the video you were wearing a sleeveless Toyota shirt and not the Pistons and Pixiedust. Must have been your twin. Great display of perfection and fabrication. More please!
Danny is such a patient teacher. His explanations are so easy to understand. And Faye cracks me up with her pure excitement, when she is a talented young lady in her own right.
Hey Faye and Danny 👋, yes , the fun of custom work . Faye you are moving right along with the build. Play catch-up with videos. Thanks for sharing and Danny’s is a great aluminum welder.
Hey Faye, I stop keeping track of time on my personal projects a long time ago. I sleep a lot better at night🙁 Danny, the man can weld! once again, great video love the behind the scenes look can’t wait for the next one🐔🐔🐔👍
Oh yeah, I definitely don't have the slightest clue how much time I truly have put into this car, I was just trying to estimate to be helpful and inspirational to folks out there!
Everything wants to be in it’s natural state in the environment that it’s in. The fuel we use is normally a liquid in that environment, so as mentioned in a previous video, it wants to go back to being a liquid and does so sooner than most people think. Way to avoid a future problem. 👍
New subscriber. Was never a car guy but you and Sarah n Tuned are turning me into one. Have learned a lot from your videos and they’re always entertaining. Plus your personality and enthusiasm makes even the worst day better. And yes that welding job is sheer artwork. I have an electric car but I want a part like that bolted onto it somewhere. 🤔🙂
One thing I’ve learned building my MK5 Supra is them “30 minute jobs” turn into 2-5hrs 🤣 Love your videos been looking for me a MK3 to build and your videos have given me a lot of inspiration for when I do keep up the good work 🤘
Hello Faye & Danny ! Great vid love them all !!!! First time seeing Dan . Love watching u , you always get me laughing , we need more of it in this world today . Keep on getting on!
Hello Faye and Danny I love how the intake manifold is taking shape. Danny does amazing welding, and you Faye did amazing porting and finishing the surface of your manifold. Wishing you both well Take Care
Every new tool is an upgrade in wisdom, as well as experience. Especially the custom ones you make yourself. Can never have enough clamping force for work holding.
Hi Faye, Danny sent me over to look at the manifold mods and welding. I am a fan. Seen you on All Girls Garage and on Danny's lives. Always a good time. I just subscribed to you channel. Take care, Ed.
Great video. A hot tip I learned from a fellow coworker years ago, is when you're lapping a part, use a bit of thin oil, like WD40, and move the part in a figure eight pattern. The oil will help to create a slurry, which is has an added abrasive factor, and the figure eight pattern will ensure that you're lapping it evenly across the plane.
and that with all due respect would contaminate the part. Im pretty sure they want to make all mods to a pristine aluminum manifold. Perhaps share hot tips with coworker.
As a boilermaker I am very impressed with the welding on the coolant port! Tiny ally welds like that are very tricky and damn that is really well done. Also I love the worktunes, such a good pair of earmuffs
Feisty Faye 😁 Your Rant yesterday was Epic Faye on Danny's channel 😂 It's good to see you engineering as well and as for being a perfectionist , well that's the only way to go in my book 🙂
BAAHAHAHA glad you enjoyed it. I was so offended by that email!!!!! Like, we all work really hard here, don't whine at me and act all pathetic then expect me to do work for you!!

I may have missed it, but assuming you went with a MAP sensor setup on a standalone? Or worst case Mapecu? I’ve owned mkiii supras for the past 14 years and at one point had 4 at once haha. Sold them all and have regretted it ever since. I eventually went to the “dark” side by doing 2j swaps, starting with the NA-T route on 7m electronics and slowly worked up to a big single GTE, but there’s still the 7M sound and smells I miss sooooo much. This video brought back memories and I enjoyed it!!

lol I hate when one issue opens a whole can of worms. I was working on my 1989 240sx this week and it was going lean and sputtering under boost (I have a Wideband 02). Thinking to myself "Okay... lean so not enough fuel. Why am I not getting enough fuel?" Did all the easy stuff first. New fuel filter, no change. Cleaned the MAF and air filter, no change. Checked spark looks lean, but sparking. Thinking it's the FPR... ordered an adjustable one with a PSI gauge and when it showed up I installed it. Hot wired the fuel pump relay noticed only 25PSI MAX. Aw man I need to check fuel pump... I guess the 34 year old fuel pump finally gave out lmao. Luckily I planned on adding boost eventually so I had an Walbro 255 fuel pump laying around. Installed the fuel pump and adjusted the fuel pressure to ~43psi with the fuel pump hot wired. At idle she was bouncing around near 14.7 okay perfect. Under boost shooting for high 11s low 12s A/F ratio. Looks good, but still sputtering under boost. *Scratching head* Pulled all the plugs again and noticed they were 2 steps colder plugs than I should run(after researching). Replaced/gapped them and viola she's running like a champ. So the issue was bad fuel pump and I guess the lean condition messed up the spark plugs. I know I could of found the fuel pump issue by adding a fuel psi gauge before the rail, but I eventually wanted to get an adjustable FPR to future proof my build and it comes with a gauge. I'm a just backyard mechanic so I only learned by working on it or googleing everything lol. With all my vehicles I haven't taken to a mechanic in like 10 years. I enjoy working on my vehicles and research/learning.
Recently I diff swapped my lexus gs400 to a gs300 differential. Easy swap, took maybe 2-3 hours, it runs, drives, but the thing is 4-5th gear doesn't know where to shift anymore unless your past 35-50% throttle. It shifts into it when using the paddles tho. When it does shift, it shifts smooth but I assume the slight difference in wheel speed is tripping up a computer or something being that its a swap from 3.27 to 3.92 gears. Thats when I end up into the rabbit hole of building the trans, shimming accumulators and upping line pressure.
Faye, I had to sell my 87 supra turbo, convertible, with copper headgasket, arp bolts, borla exhaust, turbo timer, electronic valve controller. I wanted it to go to a good home, but the way God worked it out, i had to sell it quick. If you are interested, it is at the Oceanside CA , Pick and Pull.
Yes, indeed, when we have a vision for the proper way to do something, it can definitely take an eternity, or sometimes even two eternities. I think I enjoy being done even more than the process, TBH.😉
Great question! That giant open hole on the end of the manifold where it mates to the cylinder head is actually where the factory EGR plate goes. I deleted it, and so that through-hole goes to nowhere. It is open on the other end too, and has nothing else going to it, so I can leave it open. The other vacuum holes will be plugged of they aren't used. So far I only have uses for two of them, and the other two will be getting hex key NPT plugs in them :)
Heya Faye hope your day is going well so far! I have a question. Where did you get the aluminum oil filler cap for your 4runner? I'm trying to find one cause I love the look!
Aside from looking uh-maze-in and perfectly the way you dreamed it would does doing parts like this save money? I know it wouldn't save time but that's alright I've got more of that left.

So refreshing to happen upon an automotive channel where someone can weld and tig weld alum.

Watching this makes me glad I went with the SR-Fab FFIM. Buy once, cry once. I'd like to know what you did about the 7M oil pump driveshaft issues.

Very good point Faye about gasket grab on rough metal, most tubers don’t bring up that kind of imperative.

It's a commonly known thing, that the only thing bolt on parts fit into properly is the box they come in!
try a little Dewalt die Grinder, waaay faster than the sander!
