    THis is what I always complain about . Just putting the hardware together is just the beginning . How do you configure all the hard drives ? How do you configure that back up software ? What works well for raid setups ? I am 56 years old and am still perfecting my set ups . LoL !!!

    I have the parts ordered and I will be building my first new PC since 2009... WOW how things have changed. I'm having to learn about NVMe drives and other new hardware. I was going to buy a Mac Studio, but after watching a lot of your videos, I've decided that I want to have full control over every component used in the system. I do not want to be locked into 1 configuration with no road to update or upgrade, so thanks for helping me make what I feel is the best decision. My i9 - 12900KS and my RTX 3080 Ti arrived today. The rest should be in tomorrow for a full, start from scratch build. Thank you for your videos.

    Good job... as usual. It's refreshing to see another source other than the usual gaming build channels.
    I realize that OC may be frowned upon for video editing. As a product designer... whose primary tool is SolidWorks, single core performance is important... OC makes sense. I enabled Asus AI OC on my 12900k build with Cinebench R23 scores of... Multi core: 27868, Single core: 2070 @ 5.5GHz. So far, I'm pleased with the performance bump and see no down side.
    I've also tinkered with the FanXpert4 AI in the Armoury Crate with mixed results... mainly because I want one fan at 100% all the time to maintain positive internal pressure... and the UI isn't all that intuitive. Other than that It seems to work well. That being said, setting up the fans once in the bios like you did and forgetting about it makes sense.
    Your audience has diverse computing goals... I'm thinking that an Asus AI segment would likely interest your viewers, regardless of their particular goals.

    Hi - much needed and very helpful follow up to the build for me :-). I currently use a Canopus ADVC 100 to capture and convert old video 8 (Pal 8) recordings that connected to my old pc via firewire. Is there a modern day version that can be fitted internally that will connect to the old camcorder or will i need to install a firewire card in this build? Congrats on your 75K subs. Many thanks as always

    I've been into computers since Dinosaurs ruled the earth and windows was wood fired. Yet because I don't do all that many installs it's nice to get an overview of all the helpful things that make your system better. So Thank you for all the tips. I run Linux on an old laptop and have a few extra windows computers at hand so it makes it easier to follow a tutorial like yours whenever I do a new system build. IMHO all the optimizations and watchdog functions can really make your system rock. Thanks again.

    Hi! Thanks so much for this great video. As a result, I have built a system to this spec, and have followed your instructions. All is good but one BIG problem is that the Thunderbolt driver will not work.
    First Windows 11 installation, it worked fine initially, with external RAID drives connected. Then they disappeared when rebooted - they were showing as not connected, Code 45, hidden in Device Manager. With some random fiddling it came back, but then went again.
    After a clean Windows reinstallation, I cannot get the Thunderbolt driver to install at all - it is showing as a hidden USB connection, although the driver says it is Thunderbolt.
    Do you please have any advice? Anyone else had this problem? (We need it to complete our latest movie!)
    Thanks!

    Thanks mate. Nice video as always. However for us who are on 10k cpus and we need to upgrade the MB and cpu it will be helpful if you can give us a guide of what is the best way to do a new install without having to bring back and forth our existing files and application settings. Personally I am ready to upgrade but not having a clear guide is holding me back as there are hardly any videos I could follow.

    Hi there, I was following through this and installed Windows on the Drive 1. Now I'm worried that I've installed it on the wrong one.
    I have 3 internal ssds, all the same capacity but different brands (1 samsung intended for the OS, and two firecudas for the project and cache). Is there any way to check that I've definatley installed the OS on the Samsung ssd?

    Hi say I have 3 nvme drive and 1 Sata drive installed. How would I know which drive to install windows to? Obviously I want to install windows to the nvme nearest to cpu . Setup just list disk 0, disk 1 etc…which to choose.

      Best to remove or disconnect all drives but the one you want to install OS on. Just makes things simpler as you don’t have to worry about partitions.

    Quick question, mate. I have 3 SSDs: 1x Firecuda 530 1TB intended for OS and programs, 1x Crucial p2 2tb for games/projects etc. and 1 more Firecuda 520 1TB. When it comes to the point for me to select on which drive to install Windows...How can I tell the difference between my Firecuda 530 and 520? Does "Drive 1" corespond to the SSD installed in the 1st M2 slot? Drive 2 to the second and so on? Or is it like scrambled eggs and it makes no sense? Sure I dont want to install my OS on the slower 520 in slot 3 :D Cheers✌

    • @MrMagichobo21
      @MrMagichobo21 Рік тому

      you could remove the other 2 drives and install windows on the 530 then reinstall them after finished installing windows. BIOS may also tell you which is which

    Hi there,
    I updated my system’s BIOS exactly as you did, and I ended up with a bricked system.
    System keeps powering, shows a screen requesting to press DEL key or F2, waits for a second or two then recycles power on and on.
    Any thoughts to fix it?

      Does your storage drive show up in Windows Disk Management? How about the bios?

    • @dseperate
      @dseperate 2 роки тому

      I think it might be because of the raid Drivers.
      Let me guess your drives aren't showing up on windows installation.
      To fix this- Go to the intel raid drivers site and download the driver (whql for intel)
      Put it in a thumb drive it can be on your installation media too.
      During partition table click search for drivers and browse the raid driver and install.
      Now your all driver will show.

    Don't do windows updates & driver installation from another app at the same time. Windows update also installs drivers the 1st time. So installing 2 different drivers at the same time may cause problems. Do it one by one.
