    Team Fight Oar Die!
Wednesday 24th January at 22:05 local time, Joseph Leach, Guy Phillips, Craig Foreman and Dave Figgins crossed the finish line in English Harbour, Antigua after 42 days 17 hours and 34 minutes.
Our US veteran team arrived in style. Red flares lit up the bay area outside Fort Berkeley with the end of their Atlantic journey celebrated.
The race has a history with the Fight Oar Die (FOD) organisation going back to 2018 when the first team participated, followed by the FOD campaign in 2019. Both those crossings were done on the Spindrift boat ‘Woobie’ - a boat that was unfortunately lost at sea due to a capsize in the 2022 race where the FOD team onboard were miraculously rescued after 19 hours in a life raft. 🙏
With a new team, FOD set off from La Gomera on the 13th of December 2023 in their new R45 named ‘Resilience’ and made it safe and sound into Antigua - an important milestone for the organisation who has a strong goal and mission to help veterans.
As Joe said while on the podium, “At first we thought it was just the four of us trying to heal internal wounds and help others heal their wounds, and now it’s like there is a whole army out there. So, we would like to say everyone was in the boat with us, we just set the oars. Thanks to everybody, we love you and we are glad to be on land!” 🇺🇸✊🏼
