Watch their original video too. One of the best love songs ever.
So sad that only Barry remains who was the oldest brother. Just an amazing sound. Btw ai can tell you are also a singer. 😉
Yes the song Barry song how mend an broken heart ls heart warming great song .
If you liked this one, you will love a live version of " How do you mend a broken heart " Barry Gibbs break control is amazing!
So agree this song is just so 😢
And Massachusetts.
I grew up with this great group & had a lot of their albums. Most people react to their disco era. My favorites are from the 60's-70's. Some of their early hits were "New York Mining Disaster 1941", "Holiday", "World", "And The Sun Will Shine", "Really & Sincerely", "The Singer Sang His Song", "Lonely Days", "Melody Fair", "First Of May", "I Started A Joke", "I've Gotta Get A Message To You", "Massachusetts", "To Love Somebody" etc.
love their early stff pre disco
me too
To Love Somebody 😍🤗
Enjoy your reactions to the music us old people grew up with. Please continue. Well done young lady.
Just like Elvis, you have found a deep rabbit hole with the Bee Gees. My request is Nights on Broadway. The version on the 70s TV show the Midnight Special is so good. And you will have to look for more performances on the Midnight Special. So many great artists of that time can be seen looking and sounding SO good.
Yes!
LOVE Nights on Broadway 😍
Family harmonies are the best . You have probably heard “staying alive” in movies
Girlfriend do Shadow dancing by Andy Gibb that's the baby brother you do not see here so there is a fourth Gibb brother. You will like totally flipout
Barry on lead here is the oldest brother. The other two are twins Robin and Maurice, now sadly departed as is their youngest brother, Andy. The older three had been singing together since they were kids, having migrated to Australia from Britain. They have written several hits for other people and often sung the backing vocals. My earliest recollection of them is an unusual 1967 hit they called 'New York Mining Disaster 1941', which resonated here in Britain because it came out shortly after a coal tip on an incline above Aberfan in Wales slipped and buried the primary school below killing over 100 schoolkids.
Lots more Bee Gees reactions PLEASE!!
I would like to see you react to some of the Bee Gees' early hits like "Massachusetts", "I Started A Joke", "Words" or "Lonely Days, Lonely Nights".
I started a joke🤧
You are brilliant at imitating singers when you love their riffs and runs. Thanks for reacting to all the groups I grew up and enjoyed in my early adult life
The Brothers Gibb are awesome -- Barry and the twins: Maurice and Robin. They not only had their own hits, they wrote well-known hits for other artists as well.
Shirley...I thought I saw the first reaction as well😏
Many artists HAVE a career Bc of The BeeGees! Phenomenal song writers, musicians, singers! Their catalogue is EX-STENSIVE!! Everyone loves The BeeGees! Always will. Maurice and Robin are both gone, as well as Andy, their baby brother who left so early in his career 😢. Barry is the only one, and I’m sure it’s lonely. Even tho he’s always been a heartthrob, Barry has been married to his bride, forEVER! They’re still in love. I’m sure her support is what allows him to still make music after all the pain. But they had decades of awesome hits and tours together. ❤ There’s a song called “Alone” I think is the name and it’s just beautiful with clips of their lives. They always do a tribute to Andy in their concerts. It’s always so beautiful, but heartbreaking. They did a collaboration with Celine Dion who, as of now, in 2023 is no longer able to sing Bc of health issues. The song is IMMORTALITY. Every performance is great, but I like the one where they’re in the studio actually making the track. It’s so much more personal to me. As you may know, she lost the love of her life, several years ago and has never been the same. But her voice (as in Titanic) is powerful and angelic. Love your channel. ❤❤
I made fun of my husband for listening to his momma's music when I first heard this song...until he came into the kitchen, played it, sang it to me while dancing with me, and now any time I hear it playing in the house I know he's headed my way. Love my knuckle-dragging sap.
Their harmonies are ethereal! Great reaction! Thanks for keeping great music alive!
To think that they performed together for over 50 years is just crazy.
FYI: Bee Gees (BG's) stands for Brothers Gibb, they are indeed three brothers and that's one of the reasons their voices blend so well. Besides being wonderful singers they, like Dolly Parton, are prolific writers who wrote numerous hits for other artists. Perhaps the most well known image for their songs is John Travolta strutting down the street in three inch heels dressed in red and black in the opening of the movie Saturday Night Fever.
@Britt: This is a 1997 one-night-only concert, proving that twenty years later, they still have it. Sadly, Barry, the oldest brother, is the only one still alive. They will always be legendary. Montage is their families.
Please react to Barbara Streisand Woman in Love & Barbara Streisand and Barry Gibb duet Guilty.
Great choice, such a wonderful group with so many fabulous songs, the duet with Celine Dion " Immortality " is a true Masterpiece.
I’m a lifelong Bee Gees fan and any Bee Gees fan can tell you the names of all their family, their great triumphs, etc….so in a lot of their concerts they would share family photos because fans are like family. Bee Gees are an extraordinary band. With over 1000+ songs written for themselves and other top artists, being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame, Songwriters Hall of Fame, having 9 #1’s countless awards and 5 decades of beautiful music. They write and perform the most beautiful songs of love and lost love that touch your soul. Please react to FANNY (BE TENDER WITH MY LOVE) thank you.
BeeGees’s sixties music was phenomenal- Words (Barry - amazing live song), Massachussetts (Robin), To love somebody, and more. Seventies is more disco oriented, eighties is different, 90s as well - each decade had its own id! Barry has been married to his wife for more than 50 years. Andy died in 1987, Maurice in 2003 and his twin, Robin, in 2012. Barry is Alone (great song!), although he still has an older suster in Australia. She can sing, but chose to stay out of show business. Very talented family. Elvis, BeeGees and Cliff Richard were and are my favorites. I am a couple of months younger than the twins, so it’s been decades.
There is footage of them singing as kids in the 50's. I believe they are the only group to have a number 1 hit in the most mutable decades. 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s...
You going down a rabbit hole when you talk about the Bee gees they've been singing since the '60s And Andy Gibb you need to look at him He's one of the brothers of the Bee gees and you need to get to him because he song by himself
If you haven't done Staying Alive music viedo of them you have to do it. GOD BLESS YOU AND EVERYONE🙏🙏🙏😇😇😇❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶🎤🎤🎤🎵🎵🎵
One of the best bands from the late 60's thru the Disco years.
Barry did that show in excruciating back pain, as were many performances.
I did not know that. What a Professional.
One of my favorite songs was Tragedy. It was a song about the death of their younger brother Andy who died I believe in a car accident right to the begin of his singing career.
LOL You and Eleventy Thousand other women have been falling in love with him since the 1960's!!! Barry is the oldest of the 4 brothers and sadly, the only one left. He's been married to his current wife for over 50 years and he's still making music!! I believe this was part of their One Night Only concert. Barry was in so much pain from his back and he just couldn't tour any more so they did this concert!!
Please react to IMMORTALITY from this same concert, and to WORDS 1989 Live.
Barry is the last remaining brother rest passed away.
Maurice and Robin were twins
Oh wow!!
@@brittreacts For YOUR benefit and not, necessarily, to react to, their wonderful later single ALONE shows a marvellous montage from the ages of 8 years old(Barry was 10) up to the video with clips of performances and police holding back fans etc but it is the Home Movies that make that a great video but thru' the blurred screen we won't see most of it so,I would suggest, you just watch it for your own pleasure. It is a catchy song.
And those two fought like cats vs. dogs.
@@brittreacts you have to see the TNT Boys become the Bee Gee's for a show they won called Your Face Sounds Familiar. They sing 'Too Much Heaven'. Here's the link.
ua-cam.com/video/5sam70TvZA0/v-deo.html It is hysterical until they start singing.
I love how as they aged they didn't loose any of their voices
Hi love your reactions thanks so much, glad you found the Bee Gees, I actually attended this one night only concert in Las Vegas in 1997, they were phenomenal live, The Bee Gees born on the Isle Of Man 🇮🇲 United Kingdom, originally 4 brothers Barry the eldest brother on lead vocals, Robin and Maurice the other brothers are twins, they always considered themselves first and foremost songwriters before being vocalist although they were amazing singers, they have written songs for Diana Ross, Barbara Streisand, Dionne Warwick, Frankie Valli, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, Olivia Newton John who was in the front of me with her family at the concert, and many others to mention, they wrote for films, Grease and also Saturday Fever both films staring John Travolta the Hollywood star,They have sold over 250 million records over 6 decades, and the Bee Gees equaled the records of Elvis, Bing Crosby, and the Beatles for having 6 consecutive No1 hits in a row between 1977-1979 which is amazing, they have a vast catalog of music and with To Much Heaven which you reacted to, was contribution to the music of UNISEF fund and the guys donated their proceeds which has raised around 11 million dollars,no Auto tune in with these guys there vocals are Legendary, great reaction 🙏
How lucky to attend that concert. I've watched it hundreds of times.
You would love their song, Alone.
Or the my favorite “To love Somebody “
WITH the accompanying Home Movies Video. It's fantastic and shows them performing from 8 years old,as you may know.
Please watch video of song sad eyes and do a video of it you'll cry like crazy love you babygirl
The older videos from the 70's and 80's are amazing. They did the entire soundtrack to Sarurday Night Fever with John Travolta...side note: they wrote Island in the stream that Dolly and Kenny sang.
I love seeing music being loved by multiple generations. Some songs will survive the ages and mean different things to different generations. Great work Britt, thank you.
Hi Britt, Your hair looks great too!!!
For YOUR benefit and not, necessarily, to react to, their wonderful later single ALONE shows a marvellous montage from the ages of 8 years old(Barry was 10) up to the video with clips of performances and police holding back fans etc but it is the Home Movies that make that a great video but thru' the blurred screen we won't see most of it so,I would suggest, you just watch it for your own pleasure. I think an even better montages video showing their younger performances/selves would be "Morning Of My Life". The original version 1965.
ua-cam.com/video/2qLT26K89Qo/v-deo.html
In case you haven't heard yet, the BeeGees had a younger brother, Andy, who had a solo career: ua-cam.com/video/S-xfFqWaK1s/v-deo.html
They have been singing since the sixties, changing with the times. Their sixties songs were excellent!
They're a lot older here. You should check them out when they were younger and their younger brother Andy Gibb. He was great too. It's really sad that Barry is the only one still alive out of the four boys.
You should watch the TNT boys cover of the Bee Gees "Too Much Heaven." TNT Boys is just another rabbit hole you can go down.
This entire concert film is amazing! They do songs from their entire career, including their own version of Islands in the Stream. So good!
You NEED to go back a few years. They started preforming as children. Just a few, Massachusetts, How Can You Mend a Broken Heart, I Just Gotta Get a Message To You, I Started A Joke. The Bee Gees are one of the greatest groups of all time. Maurice did the arrangements, Barry and Robin would take turns singing lead. Their harmonies are flawless.
I’m a nobody, I love your reactions. You help me want to fight, depressed me😢
What a song writing catalog these brothers have! They are in the song writers hall of fame. Many songs for other artists too.
Hi Britt, they are amazing, Andy Gibb was youngest and a young tragedy, they just have a unique voice, great job, love it ty.
Just realized it's a concert saw on TV, when much older, still have it, you have a great voice too, must kill it at karaoke, take care
Ahhhhhh, the Brothers Gibb... ubiquitously known as The Bee Gees. They are one of my all time favorite groups. The sad thing is, Andy Gibb, (the youngest brother), was a very talented solo performer and died at the age of 30, in March of 1988. Maurice, from the Bee Gees died in 2003 aged 53 whilst Robin passed away at age 62 in 2012. (They were fraternal twins). Barry (76) the eldest brother, is the sole surviving Bee Gee. A talented musician in his own right, Barry still performs on stage and records his own albums. Personally, I thought the brothers were akin to a set of organ pipes, disappearing one by one, until just one pipe remains, making distinctive and resonating music. So sad. 😞
You can never go wrong with a Bee Gees song!
I am 51, so I have been listening to this song for decades. I still get goose bumps. I love the way Robbin and Maurice's voices seem to sandwich Barry's for what I think might be a perfect 3-part harmony.
You’ve probably heard other songs of theirs without realizing. Stayin’ Alive, for example.
Back to THe Mid 1960's...
Maurice was married to Lulu who had a mega-hit with To Sir With Love
There is a lovely video of Lulu and Maurice singing First of May. He died a few months later. Well worth watching.❤
The soundtrack for "Saturday Night Fever" is all about the Bee Gees...
They started in the 60s and have great music.. Their brother Andy also has a lot of great music
a total opposite funky sound from the Bee Gees... Barry's sweet vocals tear it up on BOOGIE CHILD...
reminds me of the Ohio Players
ua-cam.com/video/rSDepPxIIrg/v-deo.html
There IS a way for you to recapture some of the Bee Gees excitement you lost when the tech failed. Invite a friend or family member (preferably female -- Barry Gibb had the same effect on your mother's and grandmothers' generations!) to sit in with you and react to "Too Much Heaven." That way, your wingwoman reacts and you get to be a smiling member of the audience! 🙂
Great idea….
Yes that is a great idea. I imagine how great her reactions was, but it does not exist for most bc we never seen it.
I grew up listening to the Bee Gees, so many great memories with their amazing music in the background!!! Amazingly talented bros
You should watch the documentary on The Bee Gees - How Do You Mend a Broken Heart. You'll learn a lot about them as a band, as well as how a single person killed disco on a whim/vengeance, and pretty much destroyed the Bee Gees stellar career. While you're looking at that, look at their baby brother, Andy Gibb. He died at 30 from a drug overdose but, prior to that had 8 top 20 singles, w/3 being #1 hits.
Not sure, but this may have been one of the last times they performed together, sadly Barry is the only remaining brother as the other two have passed on... But, these songs and their sound, will live on through time.... Yep, last note was VERY MUCH like Smokey💕. PEACE
You should watch "Stayin' Alive" Most people know the song but have no idea the Bee Gees sang it. Watch the Official Music Video. Love your reactions!
The brothers Gibb lead is Barry with Robin and Maurice (the twins) backing. They had a younger brother Andy that also performs but died young. He favored Barry only he was cuter to me. I was in love at first sight. They are from Australia.
This is a great concert video (Vegas? New Years??) though by now Barry was really struggling with that high falsetto, giving it a game try regardless. It was still wonderful to hear them. If you ever get a moment, look for some of their childhood singing on YT. Believe they actually begin in the late 50s, and even then their familial harmonizing was terrific!
I have to ask, Britt... any PDC possibilities here? I know the ladies drifted more towards Barry than the other brothers. So... ??? Enquiring minds want to know 🤔
Love your reaction!
You have 998 more songs to go that they wrote, sang or other top artists singing their songs ❤❤
The only one left is Barry Gibb, the lead singer. The other two brothers, Maurice & Robin (twins) have passed away. They were a family band since the early 60's when they were little tikes. First calling themselves the BROTHERS GIBB, then shortening it to THE B G's then finally THE BEE GEES. Mostly gospel at first then the rock era started. Great songs, Massachusetts & Gotta Get A Message To You. They faded away for about 3 or 4 years in the late 60's early 70's.... then.............BAM............DISCO HIT. In 1977 a movie called SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER came out. The DANCE era started up again. A new look, definitely new music and they haven't faded away since. HOW DEEP IS YOUR LOVE is just one of their tracks from that movie. They basically pasteurized Disco Music.
Man I miss the 1970’s because this was the best era of music and Women wanted a man that showed their love for them What happened to the women that wanted real men in their lives It’s like women just want the here and now these days I guess I am old fashioned when it comes to love because I believe when you give your heart to a person it’s supposed to be forever not just the here and now I don’t think people know what real love is anymore or even want love like this It’s no wonder the world has gone crazy People have given up on love and that’s sad
Andy Gibb (Bee Gee's other brother) - Shadow Dancing, I Just Want To Be Your Everything
You're welcome. ;)
You should work your way through all their songs here. There isn't a bad one among them. They wrote the best lyrics, they are the best singers, song writers, just genius. Theses brothers sang together from the late 1950s until 2004 when brother Maurice died suddenly. That's like 40+ years of performing and writing songs. Try Alone, Fanny Be Tender, You Should Be Dancin', Tragedy, How Do You Mend A Broken Heart, To Love Somebody, More Than A Woman, Words, and it just goes on and on and on. Can't wait for you to share your exploration of their catalog with us! Thanks for your great reactions!
Hi Britt,
I suggest you watch the video "Gatlin Brothers, Roy Orbison & Barry Gibb - Indian Summer"
🎙😉
Oh man! I would’ve loved to see your reaction to the other Bee Gee’s song. This song was in the movie “Saturday Night Fever” soundtrack and both the movie and soundtrack was a huge hit.
That was the style back then and many folks looked that way. Especially heading out night on the weekends.
Keep the reaction videos coming and live your energy and the things you pick up in the dings.
The younger generation is very lucky bc back in the days, you had to stick to your own music of your race. Or you were considered a sell out. Of course not all followed that rule, but you would get dirty looks from your own race. Since I’m Chinese, I guess I went all ways like how ppl. do now. And many would do a double take when they saw me listening to r&b and hip hop.
Music should transcend all colors and one should not be limited to one style of music as it was done before. I’m sure of you look at old performances, you see a few blacks at a rock concert and vise a versa. I’m hoping it’ll take this generation to make that change. And stop with making it taboo to appreciate black culture. To me, that’s what’s keeping the everyone divided bc some ppl. like myself don’t see it as stealing from the black culture and only appreciating. When I was a youngster and wearing hip hop clothing and listening to tap, nobody gave me a hard time and only seeing it as an issue lately un the last 10 years. I didn’t know hip hop music and style was only for black ppl. and thought it was for everyone and why it went world wide and now 50 years old.
The song off the movie Saturday night fever john Travolta awesome lyrics
Would love for you to react to a crooner of the seventies to the present…Englebert Humperdinck. He was called the King of Romance….so many good ones. Please Release Me,Last Waltz,Love is All,Welcome to My World…to name a few!
Hello Britt Reacts, could you give a listen to " Poison Ivy by The Coasters? ELVIS and I used to listen to them on the radio. Thank you. UA-cam video:
The Coasters - Poison Ivy (Original)
Reactors don't need to react by singing. We already heard it done perfectly by the artist. The downfall of ScribeCash??? Still love you though.
Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
Well girl you certainly have a very mobile face. I watch one or two of you "Reactors" and you show your views visually better than the others. I also notice that you have a very good singing voice. Church Choir? Regards, Jim the Brit in NI UK
this is live....no naked girls dancing, no shouting while singing, no jumping around......
The BEE Gees have so many great songs so hoping you will do many more from them.I like your reactions so please keep this up.Thank you Britt!
Love the Bee Gees!!! Love the content. You wanna have some fun? Check out Average White Band. Will not be disappointed
peep there braduh...Andy Gibb - I Just Want To Be Your Everything
If it's your first time hearing an artist, It's probably better to listen to the studio version of a song. With a live performance you never know what you're going to get. This one is okay, but it's 20 years after the recording and obviously not as polished. Some 'live" performances are not really live and are lip-synched, so those are fine (you're getting the studio version anyway), but of course if you're not familiar with the song you won't know...
Love you inside out and Love so right, give both a listen. By the way, I love your vocal knowledge.
There is only one surviving brother still alive (2024) Barry Gibb
Hello Britt Reacts, Bee Gees were from the late 1960s. They made me cringe. Falsetto always does. The Gals loved them. Bee Gees = Brothers Gibbs.
Britt, check out Words, how can you mend a broken heart, I started a joke, to love somebody, run to me, Massecusetts. That’s their old stuff , I would start there and go forward. IMO their second all time only bested by the Beatles
That's too bad you lost your vid. You know, there's a 95% chance that it can be recovered with recovery software. The longer you wait, and the more you use your PC, the less chance there is for recovery. There are other factors as well. But, give it a whirl. Take yur PC into a trusted repair shop and try to get the vid recovered.
I'm liking your reaction to this song.
Have you watched movie Saturday Night Fever yet? The soundtrack features many of their songs
Try some of their 60s music then go to their disco then go to the 80s.
60s…Words…I’ve Got to Get a Message to You….Massachusetts
You're soooo beautiful. Sorry I just had to say it.... Absolute respect you hear!
This was a bad version compared to the official video... Too bad... I wanted to see you react to the studio version when the song was released with their video... So much better!
Robin sings lead on many tracks and I have always prefered his lead vocals over Barrys. Just me.
They wrote for many people. They almost never did covers and many songs they did were mega hits starting with "Saturday night fever" movie etc. Formed as school kids the brothers slowly moved up into the stratosphere.
Please do Seven Spanish Angels Song by Ray Charles and Willie Nelson I think you will enjoy and I haven't seen them on your channel
Their voices are gone they don’t sound like this. Something from the sixties like To Love Somebody.
This is a recording later in life. They were brothers. Only Barry is still alive. He will be 76 this month. I love their music. It reminds me of roller skating! May Jesus continue to bless you and your family
You should stick to the 70s versions. Their voices and the recording quality is way better
Barry the lead singer wrote Dolly and Kenny's hit Islands In The Stream as well as many others.
Yeah they don't sound as good Barry voice sounds a little tired. Check them out the original sound track it sounds so much better.
