Barry on lead here is the oldest brother. The other two are twins Robin and Maurice, now sadly departed as is their youngest brother, Andy. The older three had been singing together since they were kids, having migrated to Australia from Britain. They have written several hits for other people and often sung the backing vocals. My earliest recollection of them is an unusual 1967 hit they called 'New York Mining Disaster 1941', which resonated here in Britain because it came out shortly after a coal tip on an incline above Aberfan in Wales slipped and buried the primary school below killing over 100 schoolkids.
I grew up with this great group & had a lot of their albums. Most people react to their disco era. My favorites are from the 60's-70's. Some of their early hits were "New York Mining Disaster 1941", "Holiday", "World", "And The Sun Will Shine", "Really & Sincerely", "The Singer Sang His Song", "Lonely Days", "Melody Fair", "First Of May", "I Started A Joke", "I've Gotta Get A Message To You", "Massachusetts", "To Love Somebody" etc.
I am 51, so I have been listening to this song for decades. I still get goose bumps. I love the way Robbin and Maurice's voices seem to sandwich Barry's for what I think might be a perfect 3-part harmony.
You are brilliant at imitating singers when you love their riffs and runs. Thanks for reacting to all the groups I grew up and enjoyed in my early adult life
@Britt: This is a 1997 one-night-only concert, proving that twenty years later, they still have it. Sadly, Barry, the oldest brother, is the only one still alive. They will always be legendary. Montage is their families.
There is footage of them singing as kids in the 50's. I believe they are the only group to have a number 1 hit in the most mutable decades. 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s...
The Brothers Gibb are awesome -- Barry and the twins: Maurice and Robin. They not only had their own hits, they wrote well-known hits for other artists as well.
Many artists HAVE a career Bc of The BeeGees! Phenomenal song writers, musicians, singers! Their catalogue is EX-STENSIVE!! Everyone loves The BeeGees! Always will. Maurice and Robin are both gone, as well as Andy, their baby brother who left so early in his career 😢. Barry is the only one, and I’m sure it’s lonely. Even tho he’s always been a heartthrob, Barry has been married to his bride, forEVER! They’re still in love. I’m sure her support is what allows him to still make music after all the pain. But they had decades of awesome hits and tours together. ❤ There’s a song called “Alone” I think is the name and it’s just beautiful with clips of their lives. They always do a tribute to Andy in their concerts. It’s always so beautiful, but heartbreaking. They did a collaboration with Celine Dion who, as of now, in 2023 is no longer able to sing Bc of health issues. The song is IMMORTALITY. Every performance is great, but I like the one where they’re in the studio actually making the track. It’s so much more personal to me. As you may know, she lost the love of her life, several years ago and has never been the same. But her voice (as in Titanic) is powerful and angelic. Love your channel. ❤❤
Hi Britt, they are amazing, Andy Gibb was youngest and a young tragedy, they just have a unique voice, great job, love it ty. Just realized it's a concert saw on TV, when much older, still have it, you have a great voice too, must kill it at karaoke, take care
FYI: Bee Gees (BG's) stands for Brothers Gibb, they are indeed three brothers and that's one of the reasons their voices blend so well. Besides being wonderful singers they, like Dolly Parton, are prolific writers who wrote numerous hits for other artists. Perhaps the most well known image for their songs is John Travolta strutting down the street in three inch heels dressed in red and black in the opening of the movie Saturday Night Fever.
I’m a lifelong Bee Gees fan and any Bee Gees fan can tell you the names of all their family, their great triumphs, etc….so in a lot of their concerts they would share family photos because fans are like family. Bee Gees are an extraordinary band. With over 1000+ songs written for themselves and other top artists, being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame, Songwriters Hall of Fame, having 9 #1’s countless awards and 5 decades of beautiful music. They write and perform the most beautiful songs of love and lost love that touch your soul. Please react to FANNY (BE TENDER WITH MY LOVE) thank you.
Hi love your reactions thanks so much, glad you found the Bee Gees, I actually attended this one night only concert in Las Vegas in 1997, they were phenomenal live, The Bee Gees born on the Isle Of Man 🇮🇲 United Kingdom, originally 4 brothers Barry the eldest brother on lead vocals, Robin and Maurice the other brothers are twins, they always considered themselves first and foremost songwriters before being vocalist although they were amazing singers, they have written songs for Diana Ross, Barbara Streisand, Dionne Warwick, Frankie Valli, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers, Olivia Newton John who was in the front of me with her family at the concert, and many others to mention, they wrote for films, Grease and also Saturday Fever both films staring John Travolta the Hollywood star,They have sold over 250 million records over 6 decades, and the Bee Gees equaled the records of Elvis, Bing Crosby, and the Beatles for having 6 consecutive No1 hits in a row between 1977-1979 which is amazing, they have a vast catalog of music and with To Much Heaven which you reacted to, was contribution to the music of UNISEF fund and the guys donated their proceeds which has raised around 11 million dollars,no Auto tune in with these guys there vocals are Legendary, great reaction 🙏
Just like Elvis, you have found a deep rabbit hole with the Bee Gees. My request is Nights on Broadway. The version on the 70s TV show the Midnight Special is so good. And you will have to look for more performances on the Midnight Special. So many great artists of that time can be seen looking and sounding SO good.
I love seeing music being loved by multiple generations. Some songs will survive the ages and mean different things to different generations. Great work Britt, thank you.
One of my favorite songs was Tragedy. It was a song about the death of their younger brother Andy who died I believe in a car accident right to the begin of his singing career.
I made fun of my husband for listening to his momma's music when I first heard this song...until he came into the kitchen, played it, sang it to me while dancing with me, and now any time I hear it playing in the house I know he's headed my way. Love my knuckle-dragging sap.
This was a good choice of song. This concert took place in Australia. If you watch closely the late Olivia Newton John is in the audience with her daughter. Barry is the only surviving brother. Great concert.❤️❤️❤️
BeeGees’s sixties music was phenomenal- Words (Barry - amazing live song), Massachussetts (Robin), To love somebody, and more. Seventies is more disco oriented, eighties is different, 90s as well - each decade had its own id! Barry has been married to his wife for more than 50 years. Andy died in 1987, Maurice in 2003 and his twin, Robin, in 2012. Barry is Alone (great song!), although he still has an older suster in Australia. She can sing, but chose to stay out of show business. Very talented family. Elvis, BeeGees and Cliff Richard were and are my favorites. I am a couple of months younger than the twins, so it’s been decades.
Barry Gibb recently said he would give up all his hits just to have Maurice and Robin back. Such closeness there! But Maurice and Robin will live forever through their music. Ditto Barry. Just amazing voices.
The older videos from the 70's and 80's are amazing. They did the entire soundtrack to Sarurday Night Fever with John Travolta...side note: they wrote Island in the stream that Dolly and Kenny sang.
You NEED to go back a few years. They started preforming as children. Just a few, Massachusetts, How Can You Mend a Broken Heart, I Just Gotta Get a Message To You, I Started A Joke. The Bee Gees are one of the greatest groups of all time. Maurice did the arrangements, Barry and Robin would take turns singing lead. Their harmonies are flawless.
Britt- Where have you been with The Bee Gees? They are legendary!! Barry, Robin, and Maurice make up the group. Thanks for doing this reaction. How deep is your love is a great one. You should try You Win Again, To Love Somebody, and I started a Joke.
late 70's Bee Gees was all over the place; like them or not - they were there. I've my Rock music; but my guilty pleasure is Bee Gees. Such a great sound.
I love the Bee Gees, they are amazing so much feeling when they perform. Beautiful. You should take a listen to the 4th Gibb brother who had a solo carerr, Andy Gibb. He was also amazing, such a talented family.
Ahhhhhh, the Brothers Gibb... ubiquitously known as The Bee Gees. They are one of my all time favorite groups. The sad thing is, Andy Gibb, (the youngest brother), was a very talented solo performer and died at the age of 30, in March of 1988. Maurice, from the Bee Gees died in 2003 aged 53 whilst Robin passed away at age 62 in 2012. (They were fraternal twins). Barry (76) the eldest brother, is the sole surviving Bee Gee. A talented musician in his own right, Barry still performs on stage and records his own albums. Personally, I thought the brothers were akin to a set of organ pipes, disappearing one by one, until just one pipe remains, making distinctive and resonating music. So sad. 😞
Maybe I am crazy but I thought I saw the full version of your first reaction, It was a great video. So at least some of us saw it before something went wrong. Can't ever go wrong with the Bee Gees they have a great unique sound.
The brothers Gibb lead is Barry with Robin and Maurice (the twins) backing. They had a younger brother Andy that also performs but died young. He favored Barry only he was cuter to me. I was in love at first sight. They are from Australia.
Saw them live at Madison Square Garden doing this song. This is when Saturday Night Fever came out. Filmed in Brooklyn and I was living there at that time. I was in my 20’s. Ahh…those were the days.
I know you were intrigued by their voices. I wish you'd do a video by the bee gees- tragedy. You are my favorite person to go to to see reviews to songs I love. Love to see your review for this one.
They're a lot older here. You should check them out when they were younger and their younger brother Andy Gibb. He was great too. It's really sad that Barry is the only one still alive out of the four boys.
You should watch the documentary on The Bee Gees - How Do You Mend a Broken Heart. You'll learn a lot about them as a band, as well as how a single person killed disco on a whim/vengeance, and pretty much destroyed the Bee Gees stellar career. While you're looking at that, look at their baby brother, Andy Gibb. He died at 30 from a drug overdose but, prior to that had 8 top 20 singles, w/3 being #1 hits.
They wrote for many people. They almost never did covers and many songs they did were mega hits starting with "Saturday night fever" movie etc. Formed as school kids the brothers slowly moved up into the stratosphere.
I like the original video rather than the live. I feel the live version is much different and you don't get to hear their full falsetto. I never enjoy when singers stray from the original version that all your memories are attached to.
I always knew of the bee gees growing up but it wasn't until I was in my late 30s that I started to appreciate their music. The lead singer Barry is the oldest n only one still alive. Rip to the twins Maurice n Robin Gibb. Also their youngest brother Andy was a singer as well n died young.
I LOVE the Bee Gees, I grew up listening to them in the 70s... Also their brother Andy. Please do a reaction video to other Bee Gees songs... Words Fanny (Be Tender With My Love) To Love Somebody More Than a Woman Also Dionne Warwick singing Heartbreaker (it was written by the Bee Gees) Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb Duets... Guilty What Kind of Fool You're my newly discovered, just today, fave reaction reviewer. Subscribed!
I was lucky enough to see them live in the 90's when came to Australia where l am from. It Australia in 70's that first recognised how good they were. After recognised them so did UK & US like they the sound track for Saturday night fever. Sadly can not see them live any more not lead Garry Gibb but the other 2 brothers are no longer with us RIP Robin Gibb & Maurice Gibb.
@@brittreacts For YOUR benefit and not, necessarily, to react to, their wonderful later single ALONE shows a marvellous montage from the ages of 8 years old(Barry was 10) up to the video with clips of performances and police holding back fans etc but it is the Home Movies that make that a great video but thru' the blurred screen we won't see most of it so,I would suggest, you just watch it for your own pleasure. It is a catchy song.
@@brittreacts you have to see the TNT Boys become the Bee Gee's for a show they won called Your Face Sounds Familiar. They sing 'Too Much Heaven'. Here's the link. ua-cam.com/video/5sam70TvZA0/v-deo.html It is hysterical until they start singing.
"Cuz we're livin' in a world of fools, breaking us down. They should all just let us be." Our country right now is so divided. It breaks my heart and I think how? Like, why? Will we ever get past it? Then I see this and we were divided back then too. We got past it... briefly lol No more division. We are Americans. Love one another regardless. 'Merica!!!! One for all and all for one.
Not sure, but this may have been one of the last times they performed together, sadly Barry is the only remaining brother as the other two have passed on... But, these songs and their sound, will live on through time.... Yep, last note was VERY MUCH like Smokey💕. PEACE
There was a fourth brother named Andy. He was much younger and died young. He had some great songs as a solo artist. Try I Just Want to be Your Everything and Shadow Dancing
Their younger brother, Andy, was also quite famous but had a tragic downfall related to drugs. His addiction more than likely contributed to his death just five days after this 30th birthday.
This is a recording later in life. They were brothers. Only Barry is still alive. He will be 76 this month. I love their music. It reminds me of roller skating! May Jesus continue to bless you and your family
How bout some more BeeGees ❤ One Night Only- special guest CELINE DION-Immortality is their song collaboration or you could do the video session where they were singing it in the studio! You should jump down this rabbit hole girl!! Disco, funk, soft rock, pop, the list goes on! They wrote sooooooo many hits that others recorded. You’d be blown away!!
Watch their original video too. One of the best love songs ever.
If you liked this one, you will love a live version of " How do you mend a broken heart " Barry Gibbs break control is amazing!
So agree this song is just so 😢
And Massachusetts.

Lots more Bee Gees reactions PLEASE!!
Enjoy your reactions to the music us old people grew up with. Please continue. Well done young lady.
Their harmonies are ethereal! Great reaction! Thanks for keeping great music alive!
You are brilliant at imitating singers when you love their riffs and runs. Thanks for reacting to all the groups I grew up and enjoyed in my early adult life
To think that they performed together for over 50 years is just crazy.
Great choice, such a wonderful group with so many fabulous songs, the duet with Celine Dion " Immortality " is a true Masterpiece.
@Britt: This is a 1997 one-night-only concert, proving that twenty years later, they still have it. Sadly, Barry, the oldest brother, is the only one still alive. They will always be legendary. Montage is their families.
One of the best bands from the late 60's thru the Disco years.
Family harmonies are the best . You have probably heard “staying alive” in movies
There is footage of them singing as kids in the 50's. I believe they are the only group to have a number 1 hit in the most mutable decades. 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s...

They have been singing since the sixties, changing with the times. Their sixties songs were excellent!
I love how as they aged they didn't loose any of their voices
I love seeing music being loved by multiple generations. Some songs will survive the ages and mean different things to different generations. Great work Britt, thank you.
What a song writing catalog these brothers have! They are in the song writers hall of fame. Many songs for other artists too.
I grew up listening to the Bee Gees, so many great memories with their amazing music in the background!!! Amazingly talented bros
One of my favorite songs was Tragedy. It was a song about the death of their younger brother Andy who died I believe in a car accident right to the begin of his singing career.

Love you inside out and Love so right, give both a listen. By the way, I love your vocal knowledge.
This was a good choice of song. This concert took place in Australia. If you watch closely the late Olivia Newton John is in the audience with her daughter. Barry is the only surviving brother. Great concert.❤️❤️❤️
They started in the 60s and have great music.. Their brother Andy also has a lot of great music
They started in the 50”s and have had a hit record in every decade
It's my Fav song of all time girl! Thank you for acknowledging a great song!❤️🍻😎

WITH the accompanying Home Movies Video. It's fantastic and shows them performing from 8 years old,as you may know.
The older videos from the 70's and 80's are amazing. They did the entire soundtrack to Sarurday Night Fever with John Travolta...side note: they wrote Island in the stream that Dolly and Kenny sang.
This entire concert film is amazing! They do songs from their entire career, including their own version of Islands in the Stream. So good!

All three brothers are amazing vocalist, early years were of a much different type of Beegees

Their manager said you have to write the best love song ever written and this is what they did
Yep! Thank you Barry!
My favorite song of theirs.

Sadly can not see them live any more not lead Garry Gibb but the other 2 brothers are no longer with us RIP Robin Gibb & Maurice Gibb.
The Bee Gees was an great group which they write their own songs another hit song from grease movie jive talking.

No more division. We are Americans. Love one another regardless.
'Merica!!!! One for all and all for one.
They were on television in Australia when they were children. Great performers way back when.
Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
Not sure, but this may have been one of the last times they performed together, sadly Barry is the only remaining brother as the other two have passed on... But, these songs and their sound, will live on through time.... Yep, last note was VERY MUCH like Smokey💕. PEACE
Please react to IMMORTALITY from this same concert, and to WORDS 1989 Live.
his voice is angelic, so are the other two
i love 70's and 80's music.
There was a fourth brother named Andy. He was much younger and died young. He had some great songs as a solo artist. Try I Just Want to be Your Everything and Shadow Dancing
Barry the lead singer wrote Dolly and Kenny's hit Islands In The Stream as well as many others.
This song was showcased in the ever popular movie Saturday Night Fever. They are so special!
Sound just as good live. Love them
They also had a younger brother Andy Gibb who died young of a O,D check out Shadow Dancing by the Baby GIbb m whey could have easily been a quartet.
The song off the movie Saturday night fever john Travolta awesome lyrics
Britt, it will shock you to know the songs written & produced by Barry Gibb. Like, Islands in the Stream.
Their younger brother, Andy, was also quite famous but had a tragic downfall related to drugs. His addiction more than likely contributed to his death just five days after this 30th birthday.
They wrote over 1000 songs, many for famoso singers, they wrote immortality for Celine Deon, must listen..
This is a recording later in life. They were brothers. Only Barry is still alive. He will be 76 this month. I love their music. It reminds me of roller skating! May Jesus continue to bless you and your family
Love your choice of music ! The Bee Gees, BTS, Karen Carpenter, etc.
