Good info. Far more than my ophthalmologist ever gave me. This visual field is a stressful one. Most things that challenge the threshold of one’s senses are not going to be easy. That is the whole point of a visual field test. I never push the button unless I really see the dot. I don’t guess. After all, everyone wants good information. Guessing is not going to help.
At 76 years of age I've sadly become somewhat hard of hearing. Not really sure if Dr. Richardson had his car windows down, but the road noise - prior to parking at his office - became really distracting and made it hard for me to hear him properly.
BTW, I suffer from glaucoma, have lost vision in my Left eye, and have diminished vision in my Right eye. I recently had a Field vision test and did not do very well.
Thank you, Dr Richardson for very useful information. Concerning the sound, there IS a problem. I have usually no complaints about my hearing but for these videos, especially when the car engine is running and music is playing. Makes speech very unclear.
Hello Dr Richardson: I'd like to know if the corrective lens that is put in the machine should match the actual distance from my eye to the dot inside the box, or should it match my distant lens (like for driving)? I have a two prescriptions for glasses, one being for when I work at the computer (which seems like the distance during the test) , and another for distance/driving. The tech said that the machine calculates it but she wasn't clear.

Hynonomous Hemianopsia from ABI, stripped me of pure autonomy.. Can't drive in Massachusetts..maybe in NH. Left neglect as well..ugh

Our optometrist uses a chart with wands (campimeter?) Is this less effective and reliable that using the machine??
My neurologist thinks his testing my piferal vision using his hands is a valid way of testing my piferal visuon
